We ended up at Artisan 179 on a whim Friday night. We were lucky enough to get a table and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had the shaved brussel sprout salad and added chicken. The salad was super flavorful and the chicken took it to the next level. The pancetta was crunchy and added a nice textural component. Only downside is that the noise was next level. It was a bit difficult hearing people at the same table with you.

Great experience. Friendly atmosphere. With the sun setting, the beach across the street... good time for a relaxing couple of drinks with friends. Our group only ordered apps- all which were tasty... Then ordered desserts- so good we didn't even get a pic of those!

We haven't been to Artisan 179 in quite sometime, but as we had a gift card stopped in on a Thursday night recently. I ordered the short rib pasta special and really enjoyed it. My wife had the smash burger, which she enjoyed as well. Had a nice bottle of wine with the meal while we looked out o er the lake. Nice service too!

This is a very nice place! The food was just delicious and I love that a lot of it is homemade/from local farms. The waitress was very patient and kind with us. The chocolate sachet was one of the best desserts I've ever had! I enjoyed being able to sit outside too. Something that could be improved is the pricing. The bill got up there! The drinks were really expensive, and not super impressive. Overall, a great meal.

Second time here. Both experiences were good. Would definitely come back. There were two of us, had 6:30 reservations on a Wednesday night. Got seated right away. The place was buzzing and there was a full house. We were seated along the front windows. The smaller tables are a little closer than I would pick, but our fellow diners had quiet conversations. There was also a musician playing near the door, but not too loud or distracting. Our servers did a great job the entire evening with getting us drinks, food, and any else we needed. Thanks Mallory and Sofie for being personable and fun! Got a couple of the Brown Mumblers, which are basically an Old Fashioned with a brown sugar cube and sweet soda. Which is very good! We had the Bang Bang Shrimp of an Appetizer, Tortellini and Short Rib for our Entrees. Everything came out hot, flavorful and good portions. The Shrimp was cooked perfectly, nice and firm and flavorful. The Short Rib was tender and loved the addition of the Leek Bone Marrow Butter (seeing lots of Bone Marrow Butter in other restaurants). The musician that they had play an excellent collection of classic rock, but in a more quiet, subtle style. Excellent choice for the evening. Another nice evening. Would definitely recommend to others.

Great lunch restaurant option on Pewaukee Lake. Highly recommend the shaved brussel sprouts salad. Be sure to add the blackened chicken. Enjoy!

Yet another wonderful meal and experience at Artisan! This is one of our favorite local spots for dinner as they always have great cocktails, food, and service! We started with our favorite app - the truffle popcorn... it is so good and doesn't fill you up before the meal. We then spilt the shaved Brussel sprout salad which is always delicious. From there we got the bone in pork chop and the short rib ravioli special. Both are pictured below and both were wonderful!! If you haven't been, add Artisan to your list.. we will be back soon!

Enjoyed a nice evening on street front table for the 4th of July fireworks. Creative drink selection and would highlight the following dishes: brussel sprout appetizer burrata salad. Excellent service, you have to ask for Christian.

Loved the food! Definitely gets busy and can be a wait for a table though. Didn't enjoy the close seating to other tables.

All three of them ended up ordering plain cheeseburgers with fries for an up charge. With my fish fry I got potato pancakes. My wife also ordered garlic cheese bread for her and the kids to share. The garlic cheese bread was fine. The order consisted of two thick pieces of Texas toast with a lot of cheese. The small bite I tried didn't have much garlic flavor, but it was good. All three of them liked their burgers and the bite I tried led me to concur. The patties had noticeable amounts of both seasoning and char flavor, but not an overwhelming amount of either. They all said they'd get the burger again. The fries looked hand cut, but I'd be surprised if they do that in house. Like the burger, the fries had just the right amount of seasoning on them. The fish was great. The breading was very crispy and the pieces were decent size. The potato pancakes were more like hash brown patties that had some onion flavor and I liked that. Mugshotz is definitely bar first, grill second. There were only four tables outside the bar area and the bar area was packed and loud. I didn't see anyone waiting tables for the first 20 minutes I was there, but once we were waited on and they did an ok job checking in. Food took a little longer than expected given how few tables they had, but I assume the kitchen is just as small. The menu is outdated; both the cheeseburger and up charge for fries cost a $1 more than what's on the menu.

Don't let that throw you off--it's super easy to find and the parking lot is a huge plus (no circling like downtown). We stopped in for their Derby party and it was a blast. Fun games, great energy, and an overall lively atmosphere that made it feel like an event, not just a night out. Food-wise, we kept it classic: cheese curds and the lobster dip--both were really good. The curds hit that perfect crispy/cheesy balance, and the lobster dip felt a little elevated but still totally shareable and worth it. I'd definitely go back again, but next time I'd probably pick a less busy time so we can relax a bit more and try more of the menu. The atmosphere was great during the event, but it'd be nice to experience it on a more laid-back visit too.

They have a very nice simple and clean salad bar that is free with any entree. The chicken was also super delicious - very tender and perfectly cooked. The roasted red potatoes were also an A+... Also comes with a large loaf of homemade bread which was really good. We also had a total of 3 Old Fashions and 2 beers (Spotted Cow of course). Their Old Fashions are done perfectly! The total bill came to $130 which to me is an incredible bargain - 2 dinners (chicken, steak, ribs, potatoes, bread, 2 salad bars), 3 cocktails and 2 beers... plus amazing service - MARY ROCKS! Highly recommend eating here if you get the chance!
