Favourite drinks here: latte, iced chai latte. The shop itself is big, with huge windows. I love sitting inside and enjoying my drink on a rainy day, or outside in the sun on a nice day. Service is good. Line up moves efficiently, cashiers smile, baristas make pretty lattes. Rather go here than Starbucks any day! read more

The decor and seating is nice, not too packed and plenty of it. Last time I was there had a mocha orange latte and it was definitely interesting. The bold favour of orange definitely hit the spot. They also put in a dried piece of orange, I think that is what made the flavour. If you order a sandwich they are good in bringing it to you. read more

Out of all the locations, this is my fave! Every time I go, there's always FREE parking, seating and no wait! ;p Stupid downtown!!! Great service staff. Always happy visiting this place. Good coffee and pretty decent desserts here. We had the Lemon Coconut Bar and Chocolate Silk Cake. Silk cake....... I don't get it. It was good, but I found the cake to be very hard. It was sitting in the fridge so I guess the chocolate hardened up, but then after some time it did soften up and it was de, wait for it... licious! The Lemon bar thingy was awesome! Disappointing Americano and a terrible Lemon Blueberry muffin. Only one bite needed to know it was days old and not edible. When I mentioned to the clerk the muffin was inedible, she said "oh well", picked it up, and threw it in the trash. Then walked away. Too bad, this place used to be the best, and was my favorite coffee vendor in Vancouver. Hopefully this is just an 'aberration' from the normal Cafe Artiginano experience, but I certainly won't rush back anytime soon. read more

On a sunny day, working along the good side of Hastings, in Burnaby, I felt like going for a walk. Not only do I love walking, but I love me some caffeine. I thought "Hey, I love drip coffee, and I've heard good things about Caffe Artigiano." So I walk in, this long-haired hipster dude gives me a weird look when I order the drip coffee. That should have been my first clue. It smelled decent in the café, and everyone else was drinking something, so I figured "Yeahhhh I'm excited for this!" This all dissipated once I actually took my first sip. On first sip, my mind instantly had flashback memories of the smell of burning motor oil. It tastes like Tim Horton's decaf and stale Ethical Bean coffee had a nasty group love affair with various inedible products, and this is what came out. Most coffee at least scores some points for being drinkable, but this coffee feels like Alex Burrows goal total this season. As for the price point, I could have had Starbucks for less. Either way, I feel like the Canucks scouting staff, picking Patrick White over P.K. Subban in the 2007 draft. My recommendation: Stale Instant Coffee is better than Caffe Artigiano Drip Coffee. Between all there locations in town I would say that this is the best one, the staff is super friendly, lots of space between tables to have a private chat with someone, lots of free street parking and the coffee/late is always great. try it out. read more

I was here with a couple of girl friends. We sat outside on the patio when my friend noticed her purse had gone missing! The purse was left on the floor beside her. None of us noticed anything. The staff was very helpful. One guy checked the surveillance video but couldn't get a good look outside. He was so kind that he gave my friend an Artigiano GC and said "I hope you can add this to your new credit card collection." or something to that effect. What a kind gesture. I'll be back for the friendly staff and, of course, the Spanish lattes!! read more

My coffee tasted a bit burnt and somehow still wasnt hot either. Had high expectations, maybe it was just an off day.

Tasty coffee here and it's in an excellent location -- I like not having to go downtown to get a good latte. Just like the Calgary location that introduced me to Artigiano, there was a great atmosphere, helpful staff, and a great drink. read more

One of the few locations that has a decent stock of eats with your drink. I am not a fan of large chains but this one is better than some of the other common ones. I got a London Fog with almond milk. It was made as ordered. Barista was nice. Lots of room inside and out. Wifi wasn't working properly that day. read more

This location is the first Caffe Artigiano I've visited and although i just popped in to grab a latte to go the service and quality of the coffee really left an impact on me. The interior was very classy with a nice patio. In addition to that the staff were very friendly and even though they were busy they took time to make conversation with me while my drink was being prepared. As for the latte itself... WOW it was extremely delicious and well put together! The milk was steamed perfectly and the barista poured very gracefully topping the latte with a nice fern the diverse flavour of the espresso made itself evident but didnt overpower the sweet richness of the steamed milk this drink was smooth and satisfying! The caffeine level was perfectly eye-opening without shaking my foundations. GUSTO! read more

The coffee here is ok, somewhat bland, not as good as what I could make at home but better than at many other coffee shops (for example, any dark roasted Starbucks coffee or Kafkas on Main street where the coffee is undrinkable.... both serve what I would term "sink shots") and the staff is great, but apparently handicapped by bad management and lack of standards. Food is a bit pricy, not a very original or exciting selection and not as fresh as it could be, especially the baked goods. The last couple of times I ordered a green tea and after tasting it I pointed out to one of the staff that it was obviously of inferior quality and not properly prepared as they just pour boiling water over the tea bag. In the spirit of being helpful I made some suggestions which included discarding the bad tasting tea, stocking a good quality Japanese Sencha or Chinese green tea and getting a kettle which could be programmed for the proper temperatures to brew tea as that is what I would do in their place if I had any respect for the customers and cared about quality. However, it was slightly annoying to point that out as they are supposed to be the professionals, not the customer. The staff member said they would "definitely talk to management about it". Of course, you know the rest......when I returned a few days later I spoke with a different staff member, asked what they had and how they prepared it and found out nothing had changed so I walked out and went to Starbucks where I paid less and where they actually do serve high quality tea and know how to prepare it. Bottom line: Although I really want this local shop to succeed I am not impressed enough by luxurious surroundings to willingly pay premium prices if the products on offer are carelessly prepared or of inferior quality. read more

The food and coffee here is really good, I would recommend the ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, which has buns, eggs, ham and cheese. For a drink I would recommend a steamed milk with a shot of vanilla. read more

I was very disappointed with the pastry. The coffee and service is good, so why these embarrassing doughy lumps that bear no resemblance to real croissants? Please taste them yourselves, and consider changing supplier. Even pillsbury pastries baked on-site would be fresher, tastier, and fluffier. read more

Clearly not Italian owned anymore. I have been going to this location for years and it has gone downhill. The quality of the cappuccinos and lattes is very inconsistent. We were in there at 8 am this past Saturday morning and the floors were dirty with crumbs and other food scraps all over the place. The washrooms were also filthy and the waste bins full. Obviously, they don't even have cleaners come in over night. The patio outside is also filthy. read more

That way you are not duped into spending 7 dollars for a basic drink before learning you can't accomplish your work/studying there. Used to be really good but every time I go I am more disjointed. Stopped in on our dog walk in the hood yesterday and ordered pastries and coffees to go. The girl at the cash might as well have been a robot - no engagement at all - no greeting, smile, thank-you, nothing. My almond croissant had the texture of a 4 day old bun and to top it all off, after waiting a good 10 min for our coffees my Spanish Late was lukewarm. And don't get me started on the dead flower arrangement on the counter! Heading further east next time to Divanos. read more

i adore this cafe. and it's not expensive when you really think about it. an artigiano macchiato (hand-pulled espresso, not press-button espresso like most places), beautiful milk hand-steamed to perfection, and all of it artfully presented: it's $2.93, which is several dimes cheaper than a tall latte at starbucks, which is an infinitely inferior cup of coffee. their pastries are only a few cents more, too, and they're about 5x as good. my fave is the lemon ricotta muffin. much fresher than anything you'd find at starbucks, and probably healthier too. sure, their panini are around $8, but that's a pretty standard price for vancouver. and they're delicious. try the soup: at $5.20 for a big bowl (including crostini), it's a great and hearty deal. i love art's! best coffee house in the world, as far as i'm concerned. i'm so glad they put in a location near my new house. read more

I've been a loyal Artigiano customer dating back to 2008, working graveyards downtown and enjoying my coffee at the Granville Street location. I moved over to Victoria for 3 years and was thrilled the Caffe Artigiano there was only a couple blocks from my work. Moving back to the mainland, once again I find a Caffe Artigiano close to home in North Burnaby. I've always enjoyed their coffee and their customer service. At all of the locations but in the last year or so, the North Burnaby location has started to slide. In an effort to save myself some money (Their prices are definitely higher than I wish they were) I started making coffee at home. They only sell 1/2 or 3/4lb bags of beans (I can't remember which) with the statement that it's "industry standard" I don't want to have to go buy a new bag of coffee every 4 days. So at $15 I can buy a small bag of coffee, or for the same price, I can go to JJ Bean or Continental and buy a full pound that will last me the week. If it's industry standard, why is it that other popular and busy coffee chains are still selling beans by the pound? North Burnaby had some regretful management for a while and all of the great staff left - this was about the time I decided to save monies - they seem to have sorted that out, but just yesterday I popped in for a coffee and there were four people behind the bar chatting and a customer waiting to be served - he was even trying to get their attention. I had to tell them he was waiting and I left disappointed because that's not the typical customer service I see from there. I still love the coffee though, In 7 years of patronage, I've only had one bad coffee and they remade it for me, no questions asked. read more
