This was my first time in this store. They have a lot of nice things, but the pricing wasn't what I expected. The first thing I see is a cute little light pink sweater from j. Crew which is so me, $32.00? OOMG not at all what I expected. I still continue to walk around and they are very nicely organized and laid out. I know consignment stores are a little bit more expensive but I really wasn't expecting this little pink cardigan to be $32. It is used and I really can get this for $8. Or less at thrift town. It wasn't that I don't have the money, but why would I. I walked around for awhile hoping to find something in the price range I would pay even with the coupon, I still wasn't feeling it. Very nice place just not for me. Great stuff too! That's why I gave it a 4 star, I fell the prices are a bit on the higher side. I may go back again to see if I find anything. The staff are super friendly and they are quick at responding to any questions you have in store and via email. They carry a lot of vintage designer bags which I adore. This has been my favorite store for years. I went there yesterday and found the perfect pair of high-waisted cutoff shorts and was thrilled! The woman at the counter was so nice and held my items while I finished browsing. I found $150 worth of clothes and went to check out. It turned out that the shorts sold online during the time I was in the store and I was not allowed to purchase them. I COULD NOT believe the manager had not pulled items as they sold. This was a TERRIBLE experience and if this is the way the store operates now, I don't want to chance shopping there any longer. read more

Overpriced, my husband bought two shirts well used for $40; he never buys anything so I did not want to tell.him.that he was being ripped off and let him. I guess it s a good deal, when they have sales, otherwise the selection is not exactly wow, and seriously overpriced. No, I'm not inquiring for a return, I'm just giving my honest opinion: some articles are well used and not thrift store prices. I understand the store carries mostly brand names, but still. Also, I don't agree with advertising mentioning retail price. Yes, that could have been the retail price when the item was on season and right off the store. Once it gets out of the store, used and off season we are not talking retail price anymore. Again, I think on sales day is a good deal. They are also very nice and organized. read more

Stumbled upon Article and so glad that I did. If you like vintage items but don't have the patience to hunt, you'd like this store because they're super organized. Everything is labeled and and easy to find. They have a nice selection of designer items and they guarantee that everything they carry is authentic. I fell in love with this LV bag that they had, but just wasn't ready to drop $1400 on it. I want it so bad.... I hope this beauty finds a good home. I was impressed with the selection of Chanel necklaces they had too. Staff was very friendly and helpful! I love Article. I appreciate being able to find a decent selection of plus size clothing there too. Most consignment shops do not even consider serving the curvy girl. I wish there was a bigger selection but I do appreciate what they have. For a small shop, the owners really maximize the space and selection. This is an awesome store that I've passed by for years without taking the time to go in...well, that's going to change! This store houses a collection of consignment goods anywhere from a secondhand Coach purse and Manolo Blahnik shoes to a basic jean jacket. Many brands you won't recognize unless you are either a seasoned Bloomingdale's shopper or at least a regular subscriber to Harper's Bazaar, so most folks may not understand how an item is priced- but from what I see their pricing is very fair. I didn't pick up a new-to-me Coach bag this time around, though I will come here when I am ready to foray into designer handbags. I ended up picking up a fun denim vest (90s fashion is coming back!), a cool scarf and vintage cocktail ring. I saw a lot more that I'll be coming back to get! read more

I have been buying stylish jeans here for years ('cuz I don't like spending $100+ for jeans) and I like the good brands. When I was pregnant I learned they have maternity clothes. Score! I got a few great pieces. It's always great to save money, especially when you wear maternity clothes for such a short time. I just visited their new store and love all the space and new accessories. LOVE this place! I was in the area going to the coffee shop next door and when we parked I screamed with excitement. SCREAMED, literally. And I think my BF groaned, knowing that this trip was going to take a while :) I found several cute pieces. The jeans were such a steal! None were quite my size, but that's typical, you have to frequent places like this often to get what you need--it pays to pop in frequently. I ended up purchasing an adorable 100% wool sweater for only $8!! I almost bought the citizens jeans even though they were slightly too big just because they were only $17! Time to dust the cobwebs from my Yelp account. My first review of Article over a year ago wasn't so great and I said that it was probably going to be my last time visiting the store. Well, I believe in second chances so I came back to Article a couple of months later to do some shopping after a friend had forwarded me their e-newsletter (which has all of their monthly promotions inside). My experience was like night and day. Despite the store being very busy, I was greeted, asked what brought me in and was pointed in the right direction. When my arm was full of clothes, they were taken from me and I was put on a waiting list for a fitting room. This was not an isolated incident as every time ever since I have had the same stellar service. Over the course of 2012, I have found many of my staple items at the store at great prices, even a fabulous vintage gown that I wore to a fashion show in Sacramento. Article is definitely worth visiting. Depending on what you are looking for, it could be hit or miss, but keep checking back. There's a wide variety of shoes, accessories, jeans, dresses - all very current and in good condition, catering to a wide variety of personal styles. Shopping tip: Pay close attention to the tags. It will note a date that an item will be dropping in price! It's kind of like playing roulette, unless the day you are looking at the tag is the same day you are shopping! :) read more

Small but plenty of good quality merchandise to browse through. All the tops I picked out were under $20.00 and none of the same old stuff you find at the mall. I found a Louis Vuitton bag I had been searching months for and called the store to inquire. I let the sales person know that I didn't live in town and wanted to purchase the bag. She told me that I needed to respond to the social media post and someone would get back to me. I did as instructed and received a message 4 hours latter to be informed it was sold. If your going to run a high end consignment store that comes with a level of service your staff is lacking. I wanted to support the local mom and pop but going forward will not. What a cool store! I found this consignment boutique via Yelp!, and decided to give them a call since they have such outstanding reviews. I called over the weekend, and a gentleman answered (owner?). He was super patient and answered all of my questions regarding what I should bring in, and how the consignment process worked at this store. So, I decided to pack all my shoes and clothes in a few bags, and see if they could use any of my stuff on Tuesday morning. First impression: 1. Cool location! I always love driving by the homes in East Sacramento. It's fun to imagine myself living in one of these homes. Key word: imagine. :-P 2. This boutique is located near the Sacramento State University campus, and is in the same shopping center as Tupelo Coffee Roasters (I tried this place for the first time after consigning at Article this morning. Delicious.). 3. The first girl I interacted was really sweet (and it didn't hurt that she is gorgeous, haha). The second girl was super sweet as well, and helped me with the consigning process. 4. You can really tell the owners take great pride in their business. The design of the shop, the quality of the clothing they sell, and the high standards of consignment they keep, are all some of the indicators that the owners want the best for customers & employees. 5. The store is kept extremely organized and clean. Although they only wanted seven of my items today, one of the girls told me to bring a few things back when the weather cools down - totally understandable. Stopped by to do a little shopping with my daughter. They have a great selection of women's designer clothing, shoes, purses, etc. As we were checking out, I was looking at a couple of designer coin purses. Some of which were $40. I found 2 Coach coins purses that were $20. I asked the cashier if the were genuine since the other coin purses I was looking at were $40. The cashier (who was very nice) did not know. She went to find one of owners to confirm and the owner told us that they were both geniune. My daughter and I had our doubts, so, I decided against purchasing either of them. I have several Coach coin purses and purses, and there was absoluting nothing that I could find within the coin purse, except a white cheap tag that said "Made in China". There was no Coach logo or imprint anywhere in either of the coin purses. Maybe whoever they hired to confirm authenticity was having a bad day when pricing these item? read more

They seem to have an air of discriminating taste - but the clothes in stock just don't match it. Packed full of mundane thrift-store clothing - at fairly high prices. I'm a big consignment store shopper.. and I'll pay top dollar for contemporary brand names. But, most of these styles were out-of-date particularly considering the high prices.
