Unfortunately, they were out of the asparagus that we both ordered, and when we asked about it, we were simply told they were out with no real follow-up or alternatives offered. I ordered the tres leches cake for dessert but was served the wrong dessert, and we also ordered a chocolate mousse cake where the mousse was the only thing on the plate. I truly enjoyed my food, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waters were only refilled once the entire evening. When I asked for a small change to my steak (sauce on the side), our waiter argued that it would taste better with the sauce on top. I still requested it on the side, but when the meal arrived, the sauce was poured over the steak anyway. The food itself was good, but better communication and more attentive service would have made the experience much more enjoyable--especially for a special occasion like Valentine's Day. read more

What a great experience! Booked Aurthur's for a birthday. Reviews do not do it justice. I had the chicken fried lobster, thats right fried lobster tail. The presentation was beautiful but it tasted even beter than it looked.(be sure to get the drawn butter) My daughter had the filet medalions which truly melted in your mouth. The shrimp scampi was only par mostly because the other two choices were so spectacular. Our waiters Hugo and Hamed were attentive but not intrusive. My wife stated that the aubiance was delightful! This is a gem. Old world ambience with fantastically personalized and friendly service by Melissa & Maruchon. They made a point to ask my name and use it when conversing with me. With vaulted ceilings, elegant seating (banquets, traditional tables with white linen tablecloths), ornate crystal chandeliers, and even a stage for live music, this place is definitely a place the Rat Pack would've held court. Food was delish. I ordered a filet, wedge salad. My husband ordered the chefs special of lobster with scallops, shrimp and redfish with a white wine sauce. It was so good. He won! The service was good. We also started with a crab cake that was rich but was on a bed of coke slaw so it wasn't as rich. Apparently, on Friday nights, the bar area becomes a little dance party for those ripe in age. Went on a date here two weeks ago and it was nice, though I definitely felt like I was overdressed compared to the rest of the people there Our server was very knowledgeable of the food menu but I wish there would've been a sommelier available to give pairing recommendations and pour the wine for us while giving us history on it. We had a private booth and it was so intimate and lovely for me and my date. And our server checked on us plenty! We had the escargot which were yummy, I had the veil which was very tender (though flavor wasn't out of this world or anything) and my date had steak which he was sadly not impressed by, but it wasn't bad at all. I think he just had higher expectations for it. The only thing I will say was BAD were the cocktails. Please, whatever you do, don't order cocktails here and stick to wine. My Negroni was anything but and so was my date's Manhattan. We took a few sips of our drinks which were super watery and then never touched them again, and the server's response to me saying we didn't like them was "I can't take those back" which I didn't ask for but also, not a great response imo. The crab cake was all crab! All three courses were generous portion sizes. Our server was also very good! I highly recommend this restaurant for the high quality food and service! The dining area of the restaurant is nice and upscale. The lights were too low. I could not read the menu or bill without a flashlight. I'd recommend turning up the lights one notch. They have a lively bar area and dance floor with live music which is an interesting contrast. The Sat night my friend and I were there, a husband and wife team were the live music. From where we sat in the dining room, it sounded like Karaoke- not terrible - but not upscale restaurant music. The clientele is mostly 70+, so my friend and I were the youngest people there by far. Came here for the first time and was excited to try this steak house. The place was a bit old style and was greeted as we entered. Then came the waiter who was not professional at all and really gruff. His demeanor was that he was only there to take orders and that was it. When I asked for a hot tea because I was a bit cold, he told me they didn't have black tea. When I told him I didn't say I wanted black tea, he spoke to me incoherently and said that he can bring me hot water and lemon. When he finally brought it, the lemon was a lime and the lime was so old that it was sticky and slimy. I also had to ask multiple times about refilling our water. This was my first visit to Arthur's and had never heard of it. I went with a few friends. The crab stuffed salmon was really good and the mashed potatoes were so creamy. I didn't really like the green beans, but I never really like green beans at restaurants. I always find they lack flavor. It was no exception here. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu as well as wines. He allowed me to try a couple wines and I settled with the Moscato. My wife and I seem to always go to downtown or Uptown Dallas for fine dining. Arthur's has been on our list for a long time, but we just don't get to Addison very often. We finally decided to make a point of trying it out and man, are we glad we did! Every aspect of our visit was nothing less than superb. The ambience is great. Not too noisy, not too quiet, just right. It has a very old-school feel. The wait staff was super attentive without being overbearing. I requested an off the menu drink that is a bit out of the norm. The bartender came out to our table and asked me specifically what I wanted and how I wanted it. He did this on two separate cocktails and nailed them both! Even checked to see if I was happy with them. My wife had the stuffed salmon and I opted for the rack of lamb. Both were simply delicious. They also include some sides so we didn't even need an à la carte dish and could not finish either one of our plates. It is a great value compared to many of your high-end steakhouses. i wanted something not readily available at most steak houses. i tried the rack of lamb. it was terrible. i ordered it well done it was at best rare. the meat was tough and did not come off the rib bone easily. you could not eat it from the bone, not tender at all. even cutting it with a steak knife was difficult. i only ate half of it. the sides of creamed spinach and broccoli with sauce were adequate but nothing special. i had filet and ribeye there before and it was good. i expected much better. quite disappointing. read more

It's restaurant week and we decided to try Arthur's. The champagne Brie soup sounded like an exciting adventure. We had check it out. Arthur's wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. It needs a little bit of an update. It was super dark inside, I mean dangerously dark- I could hardly see where I was stepping. Another table had a flashlight shining on their menu by the waiter. I waited for a friend while a tall man with pony tail took my drink order. They didn't have blue cheese stuffed olives for dirty martini but brought regular olives instead, which was fine. My friend arrived and we ordered our courses, I checked into Yelp and noticed their was a discount for restaurant week. I realize a portion of the RW proceeds are donated to the Lena Pope foundation and North Texas food bank but the coupon was there for a reason and I had to ask. They did honor it but they were awkward about it and it made for an uncomfortable feel during the whole dining experience. Initially when I showed another server he cut me off and said "no coupons during RW" I asked him if I could explain- The soup arrived and it was delicious. The beef bourguignon was not my favorite. I ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert to go but received the creme brûlée, it was all broken by the time I got home and a little too soggy. Our server was kind enough to pack up my friends food because she had to leave early, he was very nice about that and I could tell he felt bad. The venue features live music, but it's quite loud inside, making conversation difficult, especially near the dance floor. I hoped to talk on the patio, but the loudspeakers there made it hard to converse as well. The place is very clean, but not ideal for a relaxing post-dinner chat. I did not pick the table, that choice was already made before I arrived. I guess you go with the flow. I was dressed nice, but it was apparent I was over dressed for the other clientele. It appears they have a very casual dress code. The wait staff was dressed professionally and I would say dressed for the clientele as well. When I go out, I dress up; some go out and dress down. This was my first time there. It was fine, but borderlines to not have a dress code at all. I expected more. It's not going to be on my list for another visit. Love love love The food was so good!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. They bring out what seemed like freshly baked rosemary bread...which maybe is a bad idea because I wanted to eat like four loafs. We ordered Filet Mignon and NY Strip. Both were amazing. Melt in your mouth. I loved how you could actually tell the difference between the meats fat content, flavor, and cut. It shows the good quality. These were paired with garlic mashed potatoes, the best asparagus ever (what did y'all do to it?! It's just asparagus...why was it so good?!). The plate had some sauce that the steak rests on, very subtle and not overwhelming. It seemed like it was sautéed from the juice of the steak. When I cut into my meat, it was perfectly cooked and had obviously been treated well as it didn't suddenly leak juice everywhere instead of retaining the moisture. So adorable inside. Art lines the walls and the architecture has a lot of character For everyone saying the decor is outdated...it's a different style and I love it. It felt like I was back in Italy.
