When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist immediately informed me that Eastern Roots was not in-network with United Healthcare and that I could instead submit an out-of-network claim. That was not an acceptable option, as out-of-network costs are significantly higher. It was clear the practice knew this in advance but failed to notify me until after I had driven over an hour to get there. When I requested a refund--since I was unwilling to proceed with a provider that misrepresented their insurance status--they refused, citing their 24-hour cancellation policy. However, I hadn't canceled the appointment; I arrived in good faith, expecting coverage. Only once I learned the true facts, which the clinic already knew, did I decline to continue. To make matters worse, the owner, Sarah Alemi, did not speak with me directly and instead sent an email referencing the cancellation policy. This doesn't help with how I feel, but, it is something to keep in mi d for next time. Today is a very hot day and I wanted the grim scrubbed off of me. Nevertheless, the scub can be combined with the massage if you like. 30 Minutes - $40.00 60 Minutes - $60.00 90 Minutes - $100.00 I will say I like the fact this place doesn't show women posing for the camera in tight clothing giving off several suggestive impressions. I just wanted an hour body scrub with a table shower, but this wasn't an option at this business. They do have the option of the hot water and towel in a bucket, bit I have had this experience before and wasn't interested this time around. I tried to be understanding about the communication issue, but honestly, this was one of the worst massages I have ever received. The service felt extremely rushed and careless, particularly when he massaged my hands. At that point, I felt like I was simply being charged for time rather than receiving an actual massage. When I spoke with the front desk, May offered me an additional 10-minute massage at no charge. I appreciated the gesture, and I want to be clear that May actually did a good job. She understood the areas that needed attention and provided the type of massage I was expecting. Unfortunately, I was still charged for the additional 10 minutes that I had specifically been told would be free. I also found the response from the front desk extremely inappropriate. When I explained that I was dissatisfied with Michael's massage, I was told: "Black people like how Michael does massage; you like May's style." That comment was completely inappropriate and offensive. My complaint had nothing to do with race. I was simply asking for a proper massage and explaining that the service I received from Michael was not satisfactory. I don't believe customers should be charged full price for a service they had to stop early because they were dissatisfied, especially after being offered additional time for free as a resolution and then being charged for it anyway. May was professional and provided a much better massage, but unfortunately, because of the overall experience and especially the inappropriate comment from the front desk, I will not be returning.

If 1 hour isn't enough, I reccomend 90 minutes for $100 dallors. If you hurting all over or just want the enjoyment of a great full body massage then the 2 hour massage for $140 is the way to go. You can also asked for 4 hands or 8 hands massage, but I strongly recommend calling ahead of time and setting this up with the manager on duty. Don't forget to get the cost of this service too. Now, if you are looking for stone massage, Kneel and Step Massage (which caught Mr eye), Thai Massage and Reflexology, you are in luck. The massage was relaxing the therapist knew what she was doing to put my sore shoulder back at ease. The lady had strong hands and leg massage was outstanding. I don't remember the glutes massage, but I am sure it was good as well. I did notices the women therapist work in the office facility while the men work outside the open work area of the mall. Today, I had a pedicure with French tips, and I noticed that the polish on two nails was already lifting. I politely asked if those two nails could be fixed, and the technician corrected them to a point where I was satisfied. I wasn't asking for the entire service to be redone. What happened afterward was extremely disappointing. The manager pulled me aside and told me that she had reviewed my appointment history and noticed that my services tend to take longer than the allotted time. She suggested that, going forward, they could skip portions of my service, such as the scrub or massage, to save time. Throughout the conversation, she repeatedly emphasized that she was the manager. I found the way this was handled very disappointing. When you pay for a service, you are absolutely entitled to politely ask for something to be corrected if there is an issue or if it isn't what you requested. That is not being difficult; it's part of receiving a service and wanting to be happy with the finished product. I was asking for two nails with lifting polish to be fixed, not asking for an entire service to be redone. I also found the discussion about appointment times frustrating because the time reflected in an appointment history isn't necessarily the amount of time a technician is actively working on a customer. I get regular polish and sit to let it dry before leaving so I don't ruin the service I just paid for. A few additional minutes can also naturally occur when a technician makes an adjustment or gets up to get something. I spend around $120+ every time I come here before tip. At that price point, I expect quality work and good customer service. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect my nails to be done the way I requested, or to ask for a small correction without being made to feel like an inconvenience or like I'm being watched on a stopwatch. After this interaction, I will not be returning. My friends and family who also patronize this salon will be taking their business elsewhere as well. I would strongly encourage the owners to personally read the reviews from customers who have had negative experiences rather than relying solely on management's perspective.
