I should have composed a review late November when I was let go or December 2024…read more Elite Personnel VP contact NHG and manager EH contacted me about a Contract Travel Accounting position for a large union International Brotherhood Teamsters IBT near the Capitol downtown DC. It was a temp to hire staffing assignment and looking to start Monday August 12. Interestingly, I just relocated from NYC July 31, 2024. I had to work 500 hours to become permanent. I already interviewed three other staffing recruiters and a Silver Spring MD direct hire HR employee which they were stalling with pending next steps in the interview process so I prioritized my time and took IBT staffing agency to survive. Although the pay rate was $29 hour and it was non-negotiable per NHG so I had no choice. She "lowballed" me since my salary was $65,000 from my previous NYC local employment for nearly seven years. My duties include verifying and auditing employee travel expense reports and applying LM2 schedule for accurate coding using SAP Concur software and processing travel-related vouchers on Microsoft Dynamics XL formerly Solomon Edwards software. I was grateful to learn two new software SAP Concur and Microsoft Dynamics. I loved data entry processing travel related vouchers since it keeps me busier than verifying expense reports which caused me to doze off occasionally. Travel Accounting manager TB I thought I worked well with signed my weekly timesheets mostly. This racist Travel Accounting supervisor JF was and is arrogant and indifferent toward temp employee as a Black male and normally out of the office a lot leaving less work for me to do. JF and I were not on the best terms. The other four other Travel Accounting employees trained me a certain way to verify and audit expense reports. I explained to him during two performance evaluations September 17 and November 1 for the reason for my swift delivery and attempted to avoid careless errors and I acknowledged my breakdown to him and to TB. JF applauded my data entry and admin related work with limited and no errors. I expressed oftentimes sitting at my desk unproductive and idle for a long time whether I am working slow or fast. He and TB admitted about some down times which expense reports aren't coming regularly. Staffing agency RHI sent a black woman temp to handle back logs for both Vietnamese permanent employees out of the office in late October. She and I share the same birthday, and she has extensive accounting background including travel accounting experience from a large NW DC university. JF asked me to train her on processing travel expense vouchers and she acted pompous and kept interrupting me in the process. She asked some of the questions repeatedly and cosplaying from making careless mistakes and she did tasks her. She implied JF and another white female temp employee explained the best way opposed to mine so I just ceased training her and talking to her. Their ice was and always colder than mine. I refused to work in a spiritual and gender warfare toxic environment feeling disrespected by her and the co-workers. I am beginning to feel uneasy working with the temp and how she tried to undermine and sabotage me along with JF especially with my 500 staffing assignments are set to expire November 25. I addressed my concerns to TB. Finally, NHG called to inform me Wednesday November 27 to confirm my last day since the Accounting Manager TB and/or JF informed her I was "frustrated" with the lack of consistent and regular work and my refusal to accept permanent offer since they pay once a month according to TB and other employees. Also, I refused to work in a toxic environment feeling disrespected by HR, cafeteria staff, "raccoons" security, and many union employees.

Straight out of undergrad, they were able to place me on a temporary assignment that lasted for about 2 months, and then when that ended, I was placed in a more long-term admin front office role. When nothing else worked to put my degree to use, I could count on Elite to get placed somewhere, and luckily for me, they seem to have great connections all throughout the DMV so I didn't have to wait too long before I would hear back with a potential opportunity. If you're still in the search for a new temp agency, I definitely recommend Elite be your next (and last) stop ;)

I was working with a female recruiter named Naomi. she rarely answers calls or emails or texts, sometimes she'll answer after 3or more days if at all. She completely lied to a job I interviewed for, she told them I wasn't interested!! And they were ready to hire me. She told me they were dragging their feet and weren't sure about creating this position. Then after 2months of nothing, She "found" another job same company different shift. Told me it was M-F. Then the night before my first day, she tells me it's m-f with alternating weekend!! Then when I show up for my first day, find out it's actually 6 days and then 4 days!!! The pay rate is crap. Especially when it was supposed to be a supervisory position. She tells me one thing, the company told me something completely different. Be warned I am not the only one. These recruiters are unorganized, can't get their facts straight, don't bother communicating, and don't seem to care if they screw up your life. Stay away from these people. 10 years ago they were good, but as of 2026 they are absolutely horrible!!

Prior to accepting my offer I explicitly asked about healthcare, holiday pay, PTO benefits. My recruiter said all these things were offered. Fast forward 4 months later and I have learned the following: the healthcare plan is not employer sponsored you have to pay at minimum $400 a week for a family to have healthcare that's more than what's offered in the marketplace. Holiday pay is only available after you've worked 1,500 hours. And PTO is no existent. I feel like their was a bait and switch done. And when asked about the details not being fully disclosed. My recruiter simply states that there is one person in the office who has all the details related to benefits. As stated this is the third time that I've worked with an agency and this experience is by far the worst experience I've had.

The team did a fantastic job on rewriting my resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. I ended up applying to a handful of jobs and got an interview immediately. What ended up happening though is that during the resume rewriting process, I developed this newfound confidence in my work that I never had before and I was going to go after what I wanted to do. I started to network with people that I knew in my area at different companies and ended up with an opportunity that was a perfect fit for me. 1 Star I paid $1,800…read morefor Yes Career Coaching because I was looking for professional guidance to improve my job search and secure a cybersecurity position. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. I initially left a 1-star review because I was disappointed with the service and the lack of results. After I posted the review, I was contacted and asked to remove it. I was told that they would work with me, take a better approach, and help me with my job search, and I was given assurances that I would receive better support and results. Based on those assurances, I decided to give the service another chance and removed my review. Unfortunately, after giving them approximately another two months, I did not notice any meaningful improvement or change in my job-search results. I have several years of IT and cybersecurity experience and relevant industry certifications, and I have been actively applying for cybersecurity positions. Despite this, I did not see the level of recruiter interest, interviews, or opportunities that I expected after investing $1,800 in professional career coaching. I understand that no career coaching company can guarantee someone a job, and I never expected an absolute guarantee of employment. However, when someone pays $1,800 for a professional coaching service, they should reasonably expect personalized guidance, a clear strategy, consistent support, and measurable progress. What was especially disappointing to me was that I removed my original 1-star review because I trusted the assurances that things would improve. After giving the service additional time, I still did not see meaningful changes. I am sharing this review based on my personal experience so that others can make an informed decision before spending a significant amount of money on career coaching. Unfortunately, for me, the $1,800 investment did not provide the value or results I was expecting.

I only give this place a 2 because the person I was working with was really nice. Here is my story:…read more I was living in North Carolina when I began conversing with a recruiter at NRI. I knew I was moving soon so I wanted to get everything done as quickly as possible so I could start work asap. I took a long series of test and scored really well. With experience in Property management as well as a paralegal I as assured they had plenty of opportunities for me. I submitted my resume before had and solidified an interview for the day after I arrived to DC. Needless to say, and very long story short, I was called twice a week with different positions and they never landed me a position not even once. I was working 2 days after I arrived with another agency in a law firm, so my resume was not an issue. They called me about positions every week for almost two months and I finally just told them I didn't want them to call me any more. For them to be a staffing agency, they are really not good at what they do at all. You can't be a staffing agency and never land anyone not even a part time position. Don't waste your time on all their test and lengthy interview processes, you're wasting your time!

She was very…read moreenthusiastic about my resume and set a date for an interview immediately because she said she had the best position for me and didn't want me to miss out! WHAT A LIE! I was told that I would only be there for the most an hour. After meeting with Kim for a few seconds I was placed on a computer to fill out a form, then told to complete a bunch of test. After I completed the test I interviewed with her for 30 minutes then three other agents. Things seemed to be going extremely well. I was given hope that in no time they would be able to find me a new position. All three of the interviewers made it seem as though I was a great fit for the position and informed me that I should get a suit before the weekend because I would be sent out for interviews the following week. I was walked out by Kim 2 to 3 hrs later and told to call and follow up the call with an email by the end of the week. This was a Wednesday. On Friday I called Ms. Kilmer and followed up with an email. No response. I waited until the following week and sent another email, no response. This is now the week before the holiday and sent a third email and got a auto response stating that she would be out of the office until Dec 27, 2012. Figuring that I would finally get a response after she returned I did not bother to send another email after Dec 27, 2012. When I returned from my holiday break and still no answer on Jan 2, 2013 I called once again and followed up with an email, and not to my surprise NO RESPONSE. I waited a week and decided that I would call her supervisor to see if maybe something was happening and she was let go or she quit, as this was extremely unprofessional to not respond to your emails and or phone calls. I spoke to a Sonya who was Kim's supervisor about the situation and she stated that it was extremely unprofessional and would look into the situation as it is not OK for her employees to ignore their clients. She looked up my resume and interview information and seemed a little confused herself as to why I was never called or sent on interviews. Especially since it had been almost two months since I was interviewed. She requested if she could follow up the next day with me to let me know of the outcome. Two days later I get a call from Ms. Kilmer informing me that as of right now I do not fit into any of the positions they have ( basically that they do not want to put me up for any positions) and that they would keep my resume on file and keep me in mind should a position become available. What happened to all the jobs I was being coached and informed about?? I guess I was no longer the best candidate? This is just bad business. As if this is not bad enough, I found a position thru a friend possibly working as a temp to hire for a government position. Being that it would be somewhat short notice they requested if they could speak to a hiring/temp agency that I had previously interviewed with. Thinking that everything went well on my interviews with NRI I called to speak to them about possibly helping me get this position and for them to speak to the new company looking to hire me. After being told that Ms. Kilmer would be out of the office until Monday and that I could email and leave her a voice message to request her assistance I explained that she does not return calls and that I was having an issue with her. Rudely the "acting" receptionist interrupts me and states that she is not suddenly the receptionist and is the accounting manger and is running into a meeting and cannot help me. But did you not ask my problem ten minutes ago and request that maybe you could help me?! I would not recommend this company to my enemy let alone any professionals. If this is how they work with people that have great skill sets and all they do is lie. Look for a professional agency that is actually looking to hire the correct people for the position. They they wonder why the same companies come back to them to fill the same positions?? Maybe its because you guys don't hire based on skills but maybe on skin color or race.
