The next day they laid sod which was beautiful thick green and lush. The front and backyard now are beautiful with expanses of green we haven't had here for years since the drought killed our lawns. Manuel, the owner of the company, from beginning to the end of the job was always there to make sure every step went right. It was not a big job, but he still took it seriously. I had a few estimates for the job. Some of the companies just flat out told me this job was too small and that there was not much profit for them. Manuel did the job with a fair price and gave me an excellent result! He is very easy to communicate with. He explains what he is doing and showed up on time every day with his crew. When the job was done, they thoroughly cleaned up all the working surroundings. They had a great working attitude. We'll hire him again anytime. Thanks Manuel!

Juan and Outertainments asked about our budget and then stuck to it (the only of the 3). Juan was very genuine in his feedback when we were getting our initial quote. Unlike other quotes where it was "yes" to everything (inevitably blowing the budget away), he helped us understand the value of some choices over others (e.g. cement vs pavers). Since this type of project was unfamiliar to us and we weren't certain on details beyond some high level things, he was able to take our suggestions and help us understand the final results. He was also flexible with giving us a few quotes as well as understanding what aspects could be split out to future projects. Abel (the foreman) and his crew came out and were PHENOMENAL. They were thorough and professional. They went above and beyond regularly. I joked with him on the last day that I'll be seeing him soon when we're ready for the front yard to be updated. I can't recommend them highly enough.

The final product is incredible; we get so many reviews from whoever comes to our backyard. They not only completed it in the scheduled time but also did an excellent clean-up after the job. We can't speak more highly of him and his team. First Joe - he is a wonderful person, forthcoming about setting expectations for the timing and what can be achieved on each project, has exacting standards for the quality of the work done, and with this, is thorough and careful. With all of that, he is also creative and collaborative. We have valued his input and ideas on the design and layout of these projects. Juan leads the day- to-day activities on site and is a warm kind positive leader as well as hard-working hands-on contributor to seeing these projects through. I appreciated that he always took the time to inform us about the plans, proactively ask us for input on the decisions that inevitably come up on these projects and giving us the time to make those decisions, and he always went out of his way to make sure we were happy. The entire team is fantastic - Ismael, Neri, Jose, Elia, Jose, Dustin and Roberto - hard-working and committed to doing a good job. A couple examples to give you a sense of their work. Our equipment vault is the correct dimensions within 1/16th" and is square and plumb - this is no easy feat with concrete. Although Joe let us know that the board formed concrete wall may not match the 6-year old board formed concrete wall, it is near identical in pattern (line continuity, wood grain pattern, concrete extrusion thickness between boards) and the extension is seamless. Joe was kind enough to let us source our own trench drain which the team was had never used before. While gorgeous, it came with limited instructions and minimal customer support - the team simply has enough knowledge and care to install this perfectly. This and the multitude of other drainage that had to be laboriously connected with old drainage on site is all seamless and worked well through the recent rain. Finally, we had to trim old concrete and remove a concrete pad directly against our house, this obviously made us nervous, but the team, and especially Juan, took extra care to make sure that the cuts were clean and that there was no damage to the house foundation or sliding glass doors. As you can sense, we highly recommend Joe and his wonderful crew.

I wanted a drought friendly/ kid friendly area for my newly filled in area from a full pool…read moreremoval. I went through the design process with Ken Riley, who came up with a great design. It's a little daunting trying to pick out non poisonous drought resistant plants unless you are a native of the area and have had previous experience with this type of transformation. Ken steered me towards certain ideas, and away from others. I met with Ken while I was in the process of having my pool removed and he helped me know what to keep and lose during demolition. My backyard was a sea of concrete before. Since Ken was recommended by Richie Bobcat Pool Removal he could easily communicate his design ideas and any additional requests. Of course Richie is very approachable and I also communicated and wishes. Since the recommendation process was working so nicely thus far. When Ken recommended DC Pavers, I met with Dominick to get a quote. Dominick's bid was very competitive and since he and Ken worked with each other and I had been happy with everything else I decided to go with DC Pavers. I'm very happy I did. Dominick quoted me for everything I wanted done for the backyard. Since I didn't only meet with just Dominick but several companies I realized his bid was reasonable and he seemed willing to work with me to fit it into my budget. Once the project started however it became apparent that they were doing such a good job that spending a little more on lighting and plants was the way to go. I felt like I became the add on queen. Dominick was so understanding and accommodating with my requests it certainly made me feel at ease to approach him in general. Once you see your backyard take shape it's hard to skimp on lighting, and plants. Dominick was here overseeing and working in my yard for a good portion of the project, but when he was not he left some pretty nice guys on site. They worked tirelessly in the heat and sun transforming my yard. I certainly felt like they were just as approachable as Dominick and Ken were. Oh thank goodness for honesty! I was seriously up in the middle of the night thinking about my paver choice for the backyard. I didn't say anything to Dominick since I was the one who picked it out along with my husband. However the next morning after my insomnia due to bad paver pick, Dominick mentioned my choice on his own. His words were something along the line of "I think you are going for a more natural look out here, a more earthy feeling, and the pavers you picked out would look better with columns and in a more business setting". I was so happy he had a better suggestion, that was certainly not the look I was going for. Thank goodness he had a better cheaper option to switch to. I couldn't be more pleased with the paver switch out. Dominick dealt with the switch with Garden Supply and I got reimbursed on my credit card. Unless you've done a landscape remodel or you are a 100% certain of your choice it might not be a bad idea to take his advice. I'm including pics on this review. I still need to power wash my old fence and stain so please look past that. Once my new plants are here for a couple of seasons I'll have the look I want and it will be so easy to maintain. Thanks Ken and Dominick! You've given me a backyard that I couldn't be happier with. I'll be recommending you both.
