I apologize for…read morethe long review but want other parents to be warned and understand our experience so that they can make an informed decision about where they send their children, especially infants. While our son only attended the school for a total of 8 hours, it has been nothing but less than favorable interactions from the initial drop off. When my husband and I arrived to drop our son off, the assistant director was on what sounded like a personal telephone call discussing another parent complaining about her. After waiting there for 5 minutes, she got off the phone, and did not know who we were or why we were there. We explained it was our son's first day and we were there to drop off. She walked us to our son's classroom where we met his teacher. Walking into the room, there was a single teacher getting bottles ready while 5 infants sat on the other side of the gate area, several of which were whining/crying. Most of the lights were off and the room is crowded and dark. The teacher said hello to me and my husband and asked me about our son's feeding/sleeping routine. We asked if we could help set him up in the room, which they allowed. At no point during this interaction did anyone say hello or welcome our son. We ultimately left him in the room playing with toys while the teacher continued to get the other children their food. Not once did we see her, or anyone, acknowledge our son before leaving. It was so discomforting that both my husband and I considered walking back into the room and taking our son home right then. I reported this to the director that morning around 10:00am. She apologized for the experience, explained it was an off morning and that she would talk with the assistant director as well as the teacher. When we picked up our son at 11:30am, he was exhausted, and had clearly been crying a lot. Upon our son's return to school, the second drop off was better. The following week, our son attended his third and final day at school. When I returned to pick up my son, the school director, Michelle, was also in the room and the teacher was holding my son sleeping. They informed me that my son had hurt himself while crawling, resulting in a bloody lip and scratched nose. On my car ride home, I called the school and asked to speak with Michelle director about what had occurred so that I could understand better. Beth, the assistant director, explained that Michelle was on a tour so I asked that she give me a call back after the tour. After two days and five telephone calls/voicemails, I finally was able to get in touch with the school director. At no point did anyone return my phone call or call to see why my son was absent after an incident at the school. The incident itself was not an issue, as I know babies will get hurt as they learn to crawl and walk but it was how the school handled things following the incident that was the problem. Sunbrook Academy advertises itself as a safe and nurturing place for your baby to receive loving care and learning experiences. The Infant Care Program is committed to making the first transition away from home natural and easy for both child and parent. Our experience was anything but that. After several weeks of back and forth with the regional director or Cadence, I was finally able to review the video of the incident involving my son. It was as described but the whole ordeal left me very disappointed in the school and how they care for children. I unfortunately have heard more horror stories about this school over the last few weeks and had I known any of this prior to enrolling our son, I would never have let him attend this school.

Everyone employed has a true love for what they do and always have the children's best interest in mind. They have a menu that serves healthy food and introduces them to new options. My daughter eats so much at school that she wouldn't normally touch at home! While there are many good things about this particular business in Woodstock, GA, we have lost…read moretrust in their claims to put the child's needs first. Once we started asking questions and asking for things specific to our child's needs, we were told to not return and that all services, ABA, OT and speech were terminated immediately. Each child is different, so each has different needs. Asking for things outside of the standard was met with resistance and eventually an answer of "that is not how we do it." We were asking for the ABA that our child was attached to not be changed as the last changes causes worsened behavioral issues. We were told previusly that the changes were in the best interest of the child. We were also told that the changes were being made by staff that were not part of the child's care team and that did not work with her daily. We let them know that the changes had negatively impacted the child and were told that more changes would be made anyway to get the child accustomed to changes. This is not working for our child and there seems to be little compassion or concern for this child in reguard to this particular request. We offered several different options that would keep the security of the child's trust in her RBT; each was dismissed. They have been providing services for months, and now discontinue all of the services, including speech and OT, because we lack conviction that their forced changes are what is best for our child. We also indicated that we were trying to accept and would communicate with them about behavioral changes after the RBT changes were implemented. I guess we were correct to question, though it was not received well. Know that there is no expectation of privacy when sending emails to one member of the staff. Our/my emails were shared within the business without my knowlege or consent. I believed that the emails I sent to the counselor with information about the child's behaviors at home were private. They were not private and were likely taken out of context to some extent since the emails were in follow up to our "in person" conversations. There does not seem to be good communication between the BCBA, RBT and admin at this location. We would repeatedly need to address the same issue to multiple people in order to be heard. It is very frustrating. Remember that you are the best advocate for your child. It is seems wrong, you are the best person to question it. You do have the right to ask questions, offer suggestions and alternate strategies, and to expect privacy. You are the one that is with your child long after the staff clock out.

We consider Ashley part of our "extended" family and she has an incredible band with our son - which has helped him to grow and succeed even more. Ashley is always there as a resource and support for anything we need. She is one of the biggest advocates for our son and does anything and everything she can for him. She has also reassured us in hard times that "he will always have a home with HHTS". I cannot recommend HHTS New England enough to any parent or family in need of services.

The 2 years I was there, we did not receive parent training. This is my first go round with autism and I did not know that parent training is something we were supposed to receive. The environment is sterile looking and the kids do not go outside. One day I brought my son inside and the therapist took him to the bathroom and if it wasn't for me my kid would have sat in another kids urine. My sons classroom was dirty and riddled with chips. These were the chips he ate the day prior. My son's underwear from the day prior were thrown on the floor and his snacks were in the bathroom. Jen, of of the owners, was sooo excited to tell me how my son was doing such an amazing job, come to find out she got my son mixed up with the other black kid there. I told the other owner shauna that my son's schedule needed to change to accommodate PT. She asks me why does he need PT? She thinks he's fine. The just incorporated circle time. Also, my son should have been getting 40 hours a week - Shauna could never give a clear reason why he did not get 40 hours. My son was never offer to go to the other location that has more verbal kids. My son started mimics sounds of the other children that could not get verbalize their needs. The had a lice outbreak 2 different times in two consecutive weeks. I did not get an email from the owner the first time-I found out through a person on staff. Come to find out, the kid gave it to the therapist and the therapist without know gave went to the other location. They never shut down the center to clean it. Instead, they made the therapist check for lice. When I told the owner I was keeping him out because I do not want my child to get lices, she in an around about way suggests me to put gel in my sons hair. They are both tone deaf and unyielding-the should not be owners if they don't want to deal with parents. They play favorites and do not help all parents. I have had to assist other parents crying in the parking lot due to money troubles. There was an incident when a therapist almost backed his car into a child. They did not send out a notice to parents about the dangers of leaving their children unattended. This school says it's a private school but they are not. They hoard information and are not friendly.

It consists of a large room for physical/occupational therapy, a smaller room at the back for ST, and a waiting room with chairs and some books/magazines. Jen is great. She's got a great selection of interactive games to make learning fun. As she has realized what motivates my son, she tailors the activities appropriately. She does crafts with him that he can bring home, and she provides us with extra worksheets for us to do between lessons. After our last experience with ST, it's really nice to have a front office who bills insurance first, then provides one bill at the end of the month for what insurance won't cover. And they can set up auto-debit, sending you a copy of the bill to email. I like that the office and the therapists are separate, so that they can focus on helping my son, rather than dealing with the joys of insurance companies.

There are two levels with classrooms, assessment rooms, and play areas. Each classroom and play area is set up for a specific age group. After the tour we went into an assessment room where the therapist, Katie, asked both of us questions about C, then C went with a PCA for a session of peer support. There weren't any other kids C's age so two PCAs played peer roles to work on social skills. I answered questions with Katie and filled out a questionnaire about behaviors that C may exhibit. C had another hour of evaluation when I finished so I waited outside. C usually finishes therapy appointments mentally drained and ready to sleep but she enjoyed this session. The lighting soft and it was pretty quiet, so C wasn't set off by lights or sounds. Covid Precautions Masks are required and worn by all staff. Masks, hand sanitizer, and device wipes are available at the reception desk. I saw no one in the waiting area while going in or leaving so they may be staggering appointments to keep distance. Facility There are four locations: Marietta, Sandy Springs, McDonough, and Alpharetta (Johns Creek). This appointment was at the Sandy Springs location, which is pretty spacious. In the waiting area are some individual sofa seats, a tall table with four chairs, and a kid table. Just off the waiting room is a gender neutral bathroom with step stools, baby wipes, diaper disposal, gloves, and baby wipes. Patient bathrooms are closer to classrooms. There are a few classrooms set up by age or purpose. There's a teen room with video games, a preschool play area with a toddler slide, a gym area with mats and other toys, and a room where patients where patients work on social skills in group therapy. They have a kitchen where older patients work on life skills like preparing food. Only two handicap parking spaces but reserved spaces right at the front door, and more along the side of the building. There isn't much of a walk from wherever you park. About Pathways Pathways offers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to those preschool age-adulthood who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, or another related disorder. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst creates a treatment plan to be carried out in 1:1 therapy with a behavior therapist. Clients come in about three days a week and attend their regular school on the other two days.
