So here I am, re-posting one, which in itself should help you understand how important this is. Let me try to recall what I had previously written: Having been to many therapists - some when I didn't really want the help and some after I decided I wanted to get healthy. What I've come to realize is that Jill is the absolute best therapist, but ONLY if you are ready to get help. If you don't want to get help and if you plan on lying through your sessions, you won't like her. What I mean by that is she's not dumb and you're not fooling her, even if you think you are. And if you're trying, it's just a waste of money. I'm not saying this from experience. In fact, when I had Jill as an individual therapist as well as group therapist, I was more than ready to be in a better place. I know this because even in my willing mind, it was challenging. I find myself to be pretty well connected to my emotions, how I'm feeling and why, my upbringing, relationships, etc etc..and even still, Jill was able to make so many connections that I hadn't. I felt I knew the ins and outs of how therapy works, and I addressed that with Jill. I questioned what she was thinking about what I was saying and talked about myself as an individual vs myself as a patient. I was able to bring up the topic of therapy as well as all of the issues that brought me there in the first place. Jill's office became a place where no subject was off limits. I know it seems like that is what therapy should be, but very rarely have I felt comfortable enough with a therapist to really open up. As much as I may have made it seem like she's tough, she's also one of the nicest people I've ever met, especially in her industry. I have been in a healthy relationship for 3 years and just got engaged. I have thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail last year, and am currently writing this review from the Pacific Crest Trail. I am strong enough to physically, mentally, and emotionally be able to participate in the lifestyle that I love, alongside a person I love - two things I would have never been able to do had it not been for Jill. I won't go into details, but I went through a very traumatic experience (involving family) while visiting in California this past year and I basically just shut down, lost a lot of hope and felt as though I was hanging from a thread. I have never really had to deal with loss in my life and everyone handles things differently, some better than others. This lasted for several months (putting it mildly) and I was just lost and unable to process certain events and REALLY move forward. And I do not have any family out here in Georgia, so I live simply and frugally and at the same time I am a free-spirited loner, -if that makes any sense, -so I don't really have anyone to open up to & at the same time it's not really my style to burden others with things I'm going through. So, I'm writing this review and giving this information because the least I can do is give back a little something (hopefully) and maybe my experience & progress (that is still ongoing) will speak to or help even one person that needs or could benefit from counseling. This counsel comes from a qualified Emory resident who is a step away from being a licensed in the state of GA psychologist and will soon be going into their own practice. Not only do they help you, but everything is also reviewed confidentially by their mentor/professor as well. And their mentor can give them input and direction regarding each individuals' recovery and what might work best, etc. etc. You get two for the price of one, the best of both worlds! These resident psychologists are second to none due to being so new, passionate, eager & genuinely want to help you in anyway that works in your best interest. My counseling is in its third month now and I feel like I was saved. I am forever grateful for my psychologist who is full of compassion, completely nonjudgmental, honest, rational, caring, and the list goes on and on. You simply cannot put a price on having peace of mind and being able to sleep at night and waking up feeling like you have a purpose. And it's never too late, no matter how old you are. But what about the cost? Yes, therapy is known to be pretty darn expensive and that's just one of the several reasons why I was so interested in the services offered by Emory University. A friend mentioned some details to me and said they do offer low cost counseling. So, after doing some research and making some phone calls, giving some phone interviews, etc. etc. -I was accepted and about a month later I was sitting face-to-face with my first therapist ever. And my progress has been phenomenal. This facility is on the fifth floor, does not accept insurance or credit cards and will work with you on a sliding scale. It's pretty amazing and I probably get about four sessions for the price of one. There is so much more I could say but my words can't come close to conveying what a godsend Emory Psychological Center on Eagle Row has been for me. Eternally grateful.

For the testing, the psychologist did not seem like she knew what she was talking about. I received multiple tests and they forgot to test me for the main issue I went for and had to do it at home (that defeats the purpose.) I went in for my results and she was unable to 'confidently' diagnosis me. She also said I would receive the document she read off of when diagnosing me within 24 hours. It has been 1 week and I have called everyday that they have been open and I still have yet to receive it. They also refused to test me for something I requested to be tested for. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are unprofessional and never seem to know what they are doing. It seems like no one there went to college.
