As a veteran, I needed a more modern, individualized approach and medications/treatments the VA doesn't typically prescribe. His team/staff are top-notch--always prompt in answering calls and emails, and genuinely committed to my well-being. Pro: I really liked the NP I was seeing. (5 stars). Con: A provider is only as good as their support staff (2 stars) Before I get to the support staff, let's talk about the doctor. I was a patient for 3.5+ years before I spoke to him. Our first appointment was scheduled for 20 and billed for 30 minutes. Actual length? 7 minutes. He called me "my dear" several times which I think was an attempt to build rapport, but it landed somewhere between fake and lecherous. (2 stars for him) Back to the support staff, all offshore except the office manager. There is often a language barrier, like when the billing department called and asked to speak to "Doe Jane" instead of "Jane Doe" and referenced my recent visit with "Smith Mary." I usually need to call twice before someone answers the phone, and need to leave several messages before the provider gets them. On 2 occasions, I had a conversation with the NP where I mentioned trying to reach her several times and she said she never got a message until that day. Another time, the receptionist called and said, "[NP] wants me to tell you that she had an emergency and left early. She won't be able to call you today, but she will call you tomorrow." The provider hadn't been informed that I was looking for her. And didn't call back until I had left 2 more messages and spent 2 weeks thinking that she was purposely avoiding my calls. Another time, I left 2 messages for and emailed the office manager over the course of a week. When I called the next week and said I thought there was insurance fraud happening, she called me back immediately. Billing practices were explained in different incorrect ways by the billing department and then the office manager, both of which led me to believe there was insurance fraud happening. When I finally spoke to the NP, she explained it in 30 seconds and it made sense. Yes, the NP is good, but she doesn't operate alone. I stuck with her for nearly 4 years, but I finally got fed up with everyone around her. read more

Dr. Asad Mehdi is a Narcissistic snake who doesn't make eye contact or acknowledge your true concerns about your mental health. For example if you ask to switch your medication he will refuse to and he has a very unhealthy obsession with Electroconvulsive Therapy which is a joke because there's plenty of medication to treat Depression and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Save your time, money, and mental health by going to a more empathetic physician who will listen to your concerns instead of ignoring you when you voice concerns by making excuses that are detrimental to the patient since he mostly treats women. read more

Asad Mehdi is truly a terrible human being. He does not care about his patients at all. Won't look at you when you speak. Refuses to bill your insurance, instead collects the insurance information then a year later still reaches out to you for payment. he works with people struggling with addiction and suicide. When he does look at you and speak, he threatens to keep them there for 6 months. Truly, he should put in front of a medical board and he should be barred from practicing. The way he handles his patients is abuse. He does not care, I met with him about 7 times. I was asked one questions "How did you sleep?" Then didn't even look at me, or listen to my answer. I don't hold grudges, but having someone like him involved with people in weakened mental states is dangerous. read more

He worked with me at my most critical stage of my illness and over the course of several years we have worked out a good treatment plan. He has always been willing to allow me to play an active role in adjusting my meds and he is very knowledgeable on current practices in psychiatry. Since Covid began he has given the option for virtual appointments which help greatly with my schedule. Great Doc overall. I've been seeing Dr Mehdi for about a year now with no issues. I was referred to him by my therapist, whom I've been seeing for 4 years and who's opinion I trust. He's very empathetic (moreso than my previous psychiatrist) and has helped me strike a balance with my meds and coping skills so that I'm not over-medicated. I've read the other reviews stating that he'll commit you to the institution his office is associated with involuntarily and I can't comment on that, but I will say that I feel comfortable speaking freely with him even if it does end me up in treatment. I have been there before, voluntarily at another institution, so it's not something I'm afraid of and I'd feel that if I'm commited it'd be in my best interest. Either way, I trust Dr Mehdi, his opinion, and the direction that we're going in with my mental health. read more

I wish I could give him a zero! I first left a voicemail for an appt with the office 2 months ago and finally heard back this week. After making the appointment I received a 14 page packet to fill out prior to the appt. After collecting me $200 for my initial visit, I had to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time and then the Dr decided to talk to a drug rep first before taking his patient back, a huge faux pas in the medical field! The Dr spent 20 minutes asking me the exact same questions that I had filled out in the packet, spoke to me about refilling medications and said thats it. The Doctor didn't bother to ask what was causing my depression, how it was affecting me, or how I was feeling about my recent break up. This doctor does not have an ounce of empathy in his body. He does not care about his patients he wants to get you in, get your money, piss in a cup and then he might give you some pills. He is a typical Dr who is only in it to make quick money! read more

Dr Mehdi is a good psychiatrist, and I suppose it would be hard for many clients to be willing to expose themselves by writing a review, but I am willing. I have the types of lifelong illnesses that mean that I need to work with a psychiatrist for both medications and other supportive measures. I am a senior citizen and I have have 5 or 6 psychiatrists over time, (one at a time). Some were very, very, good clinicians and one was not as helpful to me, (but I'm sure was good with other patients) and couple of them were just okay. Dr. Mehdi is a good solid doctor who takes his time and helps me to use my time more helpfully when we interact - he is respectful of me and that makes a big difference. I trust him. My experiences have been very good. I have a hearing problem and he does an excellent job making sure I understand what he is saying. I have a suggestion about reading reviews about a doctor or a place, whenever you read a persons review, try to keep in mind where that person may be coming from - most of the time, a person is not in a good spot mentally and try to read between the lines, if they give a highly negative review. read more

Dr. Medhi and Chelsea are the kindest and sweetest team I've ever worked with. Chelsea is efficient, knows me by name and has helped me get samples of my medication that is not covered by my insurance. Dr. Medhi literally saved my life. He was able to wean me off a drug that a previous prescriber had prescribed for me and coming off that drug is very difficult. The previous prescribers response to me was to admit myself to a psych unit so I could be weaned off. I was perfectly fine other than experiencing awful side effects of this med and never had been admitted to a psych hospital in my life. So I called Peachford and they referred me to Dr. Medhi who has been a GOD SEND. He had me weaned off my meds within a few weeks, put me on a new cleaner drug and has managed my anxiety and depression with grace and concern. He really listens to what I'm going through and recommends great medications and therapy. My scripts are always called in immediately. Dr. Medhi is also always on time for an appointment. I truly cannot say enough about him and Chelsea too. They are the only two I've encountered in the office, but I know he has added more. Dr. Medhi and Chelsea have saved my life! read more

Like many, I have had a rough time lately and some pretty severe issues. I spent a very unfortunate few days at Ridgeview. It was more traumatic than my own trauma. That being said I understand the hospital on this Dr.'s campus has has just about the same reviews- NOT good. HOWEVER- in my no luck searching for an actually caring psychiatrist after I returned home, I came across Dr. Medhi's info. The reviews were all glowing. Admit tingly, I was VERY VERY doubtful. Even if he was a decent Dr., working with Peachford and private patients must be such a work loans that he likely wouldn't be able to be patient and listen much. I was WRONG! Glowing reviews were spot on. He exuded calmness, compassion, honest listening and though he must head the same story all day, I NEVER felt that way.
