My teen kids and I have been happy with Dr. Ghelani's care. He has excellent insight into what's going on and always welcomes feedback to ensure understanding and to avoid any confusion. With appointments, he is very accommodating. He once called in to ask if there was a problem with my daughter because she missed her session. He could've charged us with a missed appointment fee (it's not cheap!) and rescheduled. Instead, he CALLED us. That's called empathy. We told him what has happened and rescheduled. Done. As for medications, I will say with great certainty, that he doesn't jump the gun and starts with a lower dose and go from there. I am a Registered Nurse and he would've been replaced in a heartbeat if I thought he didn't know what he was doing. The result: My kids are more well-adjusted, more focused, and happier while managing their emotions alongside psych medication management. That is the result of Dr. Ghelani's care and he does know what he's doing. We didn't feel any racial undertones from him at all. Those who felt differently might need to self-reflect if they're unknowingly projecting their own racial biases towards him. Bottom line, my kids are much better adjusted than how they were six months ago and we have Dr. Ghelani to thank for it. read more

Atlanta Plus ADHD Center I must say this Center Has an excellent psychiatrist named Dr. Janak Ghelani,. He is a excellent psychiatrist. As for work performance he is prompt ,and has displayed Great Empathy within the sessions. As far as insurance and cost it has not been anything out of the norm for any Medical Center . People of many fields are able to perform and work well even if they have different beliefs. I experienced no feelings of racism or mistreatment from Dr. Janak Ghelani,at any time,of my two years with him. I've worked in Forensic Death investigation for many years,and I met all kinds of different personalities at the most stressful moments in life. Dr. Janak Ghelani,can really help you through them. This doctor has really helped me. He has changed my life. It is amazing how much different my life is now that I'm on ADHD medication. My depression is almost nonexistent since I've been medicated. He is very easy to talk to. Sometimes appointments with pyschiatrists can seem cold, but this is not the case here. He talks to me like I am a human being. He treats me with respect and he actually listens. My only problem is the fact that it takes forever to get to a good therapeutic dose. It took me six months just to get up to 20mg of Ritalin. But I'm guessing it's just as slow of a process with any other psychiatrist. I wish he would let me go up more than 5mg a month. This is a good dr. He has a fantastic bedside manner. I started seeing Dr. Ghelani first and finally got some real answers with my ADHD diagnosis. Because I actually felt heard for once, I decided to move my son's care here too and I'm so glad I did. Our previous psychiatrist just wouldn't listen to us and had my son on medications that were absolutely unnecessary. Dr. Ghelani actually listened to everything I had to say about my son's behavior and managed to get his meds right in a really short amount of time. If I could give this "ADHD Center" zero stars I would! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE EVER. Dr.Janak Ghelani is a blatant money hungry racist! Every Appointment the fees increase, what they tell you over the phone is different then what you get charged and he is racist. Please do not seek him as your psychiatrist! I've also spoken to some other doctors and they've said this is not the first time they've heard about Him and his antics. The mental health community is small and he stinks in their world!
