My family has been seeing Psychiatrist Dr. Shripal Makim since 2017. One of my children was seriously over medicated by our well meaning Pediatrician. Dr. Makim changed and eliminated meds, and within that 1 year, my son grew close to a foot taller and had his amazing personality back. With me, in Jan. 2021, I got Long-COVID and my mental health completely bottomed out for about a year. At that time, Dr. Makim insisted on FaceTime visits ONLY! (This was when the world was shut down due to Covid 19.) He insisted on being able to SEE me and made his diagnostic advices and treatments based on not just my voice and words, but also on how I appeared. I feel like he saved my life. I KNOW that he saved my life!! Outside of the doctors care is the business side. Some of their policies are a little strange, and sometimes the staff seems off, but they are always friendly, efficient, and none of us has ever waited more then 10 minutes - if we wait at all. read more

If you're black, DO NOT SEE MAHENDRA SHAH, MD. He is racist and lacks empathy for black people. I thought because he was a poc he would be more empathetic. I was VERY WRONG. He did not try to make a emotional connection when I was struggling with the loss of my dad and moving to another state. He was very stoic and would pass judgement on me using cannabis at the time to help get through it. Instead of listening to my formal previous diagnosis of PTSD and binge eating disorder, his inability to connect or care about a black person left me with only the diagnosis of Bipolar (I have stable moods, I was literally experiencing mania due to being on a high amount of a antidepressant and I was in a state of panic due to being alone in a new state- something he chose to not acknowledge). Not only that but the only other diagnosis was Obesity. He did not help me, only was in it for the money. He would grunt when being asked to do calls instead of seeing him in person because of how uncomfortable he made me due to being insensitive and because I worked multiple jobs to *survive. He would rush me off the phone and in appointments and didn't care to empathize my lack of financial literacy and why I was having trouble with my life insurance. He offered no solutions, only made me see him every month then every 3 months for my medicine. He was not kind, did not try his best to help me, offer solutions or be empathetic and make me feel comfortable and seen. I regret wasting my money and time seeing him and wish I had chosen someone who cared more about helping me and diagnosing in a way to create a treatment plan instead of just for money and to meet a quota. read more

I see Dr. Shripal Makim and have been seeing him for about a year and a half and could not be happier after my last psychiatrist was very unprofessional. I find him very easy to work with, as is his front desk staff and appt desk. And this is a group practice so there are many doctors to choose from. read more

I rated this doctor just a few minutes ago, but had to add this: As someone who has battled a mental health diagnosis for over 20 years, Dr Reddy's unprofessional demeanor may be "just a negative review, but to us, it is a betrayal. We are raw, we are hurting, we are fighting a chronic disease and have to expose our lives to a stranger. We have already been judged by many. We assume that we are going to be in a safe environment. It's ok as long as they don't know your family otherwise you have to watch what you say. Staff used to be so rude that I went to the Duluth office. The only reason I came over to the Lawrenceville location is I had to cut down on transportation costs. You used to not be able to get a human on the phone. Now the staff is friendly. Dr. Reddi is one of the only psychiatrists I have ever seen that was not pill crazy! I went to her years ago only trying to get medication prescribed as an "addict" and she was able to see right through my manipulation. She is the epitome of what a good psychiatrist is. She cares about her patients and tells them what she thinks and not what they want to hear. She is honest and very professional. I highly recommend her to family and friends. read more

If you believe, as I do, that health professionals should be about relieving anxiety and pain and not creating it unduly, then please heed the following review. My wife made an appointment with Metro Behavioral Care; I drove her to the appointment. When we arrived, the receptionist told her that she had to confirm two days before the appointment or there was no guarantee she would be seen by the physician. As far as I can tell, this is the first time she was told of this policy. The receptionist further stated that at the best, my wife could hang out at the office on the off chance that the person she had made the appointment with would show up. If not, apparently, that's tough. Now, this is the first practice that I've ever encountered that has such a byzantine policy about appointments. Needless to say, I can't imagine that help, medical or otherwise, could emanate from such a place, so we clearly will not return. Waste of time and money. I can't believe my physician referred me to a psychiatrist with so many bad reviews and very low ratings. I am going to point this out to my physician on my next visit. I wish I would have done a google search on Reddy. My last visit with Reddy, I walked in her office depressed and left there feeling MORE depressed and hopeless. She was rude and didn't show any concern for my depression. I felt as if she was talking down on me. On my first visit Reddy referred me to Counselor David Miller who is clueless, will give you the same advice that he gave you on the previous sessions(That you already explained isn't working) then he forgets what was discussed during the previous session. He doesn't spend any time with you. I felt like I was driving there wasting my gas for nothing. He is located in the same office as her, if you are referred to him, DECLINE!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

I like Dr. Makim and would give him 5 stars, but for his office staff. My appointments with Dr. Makim have always been a positive experience. He listens to my concerns and suggests appropriate solutions. The office staff, however, has been somewhat disorganized - late in filing insurance claims and failing to return phone calls. read more

The doctors might be good but you have to get thru the front office before hand and the front office are very rude and I would never go there again just because of the front office. Personally I would not let your love ones go here to get help because their "policy" of if you are not the person needing help they will not make an appointment for you. I am a family member that was helping out another family member and they would not let me make an appointment for them because I was not them. As I was trying to explain to them that the love for family is a lot stronger then their "policy" they hung up on me. Their front office people are very unprofessional and all they only know how to hang up on customers. And if you are lucky to get an appointment with them they will charge you something different then what your insurance co-pay says. They charged my family member $275 instead of the co-pay of $35. They when I request a refund they would not charge it back until the end of the month. So if you need some professional help don't choose this group due to the rude, unprofessional front office people and manager that they have working there. read more

This has to be the worst service I have ever been to. Dr reddy would not let me fully answer questions she had for me and basically told me I have no idea what it means to be depressed. She didn't ask how I was feeling nor did she care. She basically did nothing for me. She made me feel worse about myself. read more
