This is my honest review so it's the good and bad, take it as you will. First, I searched high and low for what I thought would be an outstanding Lyme clinic. (Note: I never had Dr.Sloan so this review is not pertaining to him.) Was given an incorrect diagnosis of Lyme disease. Was told to spend hundreds of dollars on powders and pills that actually messed up my gut. Then was told I needed to spend $3,000 to make a magical iv that would cure my Lyme disease. They took a big vile of my blood, sent it to Greece then never called me again. I do not have enough good things to say about Dr. Sloan at the Genesis Center. When I first came to him I was misdiagnosed and had been very, very sick for about 8 years. Dr. Sloan promptly correctly diagnosed me with Lyme and treated me with an SOT, this completely changed my life and gave me energy back that I thought was gone forever. Dr. Sloan is so kind and compassionate, he never makes you feel rushed and you never feel like he is just out to make money. This clinic is a Godsend and is testminony to the fact that there are more ways to help the body heal from its illnesses than the traditional, pharma & symptom suppression route. Had onset of rampant hives at age 55. Fought and dealt with it for five months. Steroids, antihistamines, etc etc. kept detailed food record. Then ended up here. Within a month of meeting Dr. Sloan, symptoms and breakouts cut in half. His blood tests revealed detailed picture of a few dozen food sensitivities, rampant candida and a few other issues. Ridiculous that insurance doesn't cover supplements and compounds, but I don't care. I can tell it's going away! One of the most Knowkedgeable naturopathic doctors I have have met. Sensitive people be warned. If you want to spend hundreds/ thousands of dollars on supplements that your body can't tolerate and if you want to be gaslit on what is going on with your body after taking the doctors protocol, well then this is the place for you. From the get go, I told the doctor how sensitive I was and that I suffer with mcas and mold toxicity. That because of previous treatment by body can no longer tolerate supplements with more than one ingredient. What do you know, first appointment they prescribe me about 10 different supplements. I then get prescribed a very harsh antibiotic for something they found on gi map test that wasn't even causing me any issues. When I told him specifically I get very sick from antibiotics and I can't tolerate the probiotics he gave me; they gave them to me anyway and didn't take into account anything I said. The antibiotics messed up my gut and body so bad, I ended up in the emergency room having to do a CT scan because their office failed to inform me, that the place they called the original scan into didn't do CT scans, only MRIs. After being in the emergency room, it took two weeks to get a response from the doctor (yes it was the holidays, but to me that's unacceptable). Come to find out my stomach problems were actually histamine reactions, yet he claims to understand histamine so well. And I just found out the antibiotic is contraindicated for people who have mass cell and histamine issues hence why I got so sick from taking it. This antibiotic has caused me to become 100% bedridden at the age of 30. I also don't understand how a self professed lyme literate doctor would prescribe antibiotics to a patient with mold toxicity and lyme when all it does is stir up the bacteria which then can lead to a huge herxheimer reaction. When I told them the side effects of what the antibiotics did to my body, they said that it isn't the antibiotics because those are out of your system and tried prescribing me Prilosec for stomach issues and then tried to refer me to a gastroenterologist. If I wanted to see a western medical practitioner than I would have. In case people aren't aware, along with the nurses and doctor at this clinic, antibiotics and PPIs ruin your gut microbiome, along with your immune system and mitochondria. My symptoms of internal vibrations, muscle weakness, and joint pain were never taken into account when I called. Nine months later and I still haven't regained the strength or the energy that I had before taking them. i'm only 30 years old, so it's very concerning on my why body isn't healing. I was told that they would micro manage me throughout my protocol but that never happened. I was also told by the doctor, my GI map test results would be read to me by a nurse and when I called the nurse said she wasn't trained in reading the results, which led to another $200 appointment. They start everyone out on anti fungals to treat candida, without even testing you for it. I understand that many chronically ill patients have candida overgrowth, but candida is NOT the root cause, it is a opportunistic infection which is why a lot of people have a hard time clearing it. He orders the most unreliable lyme test there is which is the ELISA test, so another waste of money. Any lyme literate doctors knows that chronic lyme doesn't hide in the blood which is why testing is notoriously inaccurate. He also diagnosed me with degenerative disc disease, when I called the office to find out how he diagnosed me since all of the services were via telehealth they had no clue. He could not remember, they did not have any scans saved in my chart which is another joke. Moral of this review is that I spent thousands of dollars in a four month span to only become much sicker than I already was. read more

Dr. Sloan and his nurses and staff are THE BEST. After months of feeling poorly and getting tired of going to my regular family doctor and being told "Here's a prescription. Oh that one didn't work, here's another one." I finally went to The Genesis Center. Dr. Sloan actually took the time to listen to me and all my symptoms and order a slew of very in-depth blood tests. I tested positive for several medical conditions that require medication, and even one that could have been life threatening if left untreated for any longer. The one drawback is that his practice doesn't accept insurance, but any lab work may be covered, depending on your plan. The lab sent the wrong billing code with my claim, and I ended up with a bill that was astronomical. I called his office and even though it's not technically their job, one of the office staff (I believe her name is Dakota) took the time out of her schedule to call my insurance company, submit the correct codes, and got the bill straightened out. Then she actually called me back within minutes of handling it (the same day)! I really can't say enough good things about The Genesis Center. If you're having issues and your regular doctor is like mine and doesn't listen (or isn't willing to "dig deeper" to find the root cause of your health concerns), go see Dr. Sloan. Dr. Sloan is wonderful. His office staff aren't. With every interaction I've had with the administrative side of their practice, I've had to contact the office for clarification and -- as I write -- they've failed to respond to three emails. As of this writing, I have an inquiry in to them asking if I should continue with the Doctor's direction based on a reaction I'm experiencing and NO ONE has responded to me. They've sent me lab kits to have done in the town where I live (not near their office) and failed to include the information the lab needed. They've sent me supplements without any instructions about how to take them. They sent me vitamin B-12 syringes without any information about how or where to inject myself. If you live near their office, Dr. Sloan himself is worth seeing. If you don't live nearby, I wouldn't bother unless you're a fan of frustration and distress. read more

My son had been sick with Lyme disease and the associated complication for over a year. He lost 25 pounds, couldn't go to school, he couldn't sit up for long, and could only walk a few feet before his stomach pain and nausea caused him to have to lay down again. We had taken him to Seattle and Philadelphia, as well as 6 different dr.'s in the Atlanta area. All said he "just didn't want to go to school". We have recommended many other friends who were frustrated with the lack of improvement they were getting from traditional medicine. Wow! Amazing! They say that if you don't look for something, you can't find it. Well Dr Sloan looked for the underlying cause of my exhaustion. I eat well and exercise often, I couldn't figure it out. Well he did many lab exams and discovered that I had Lyme disease, likely from a tick bite when I went hunting with my father. He also saw that I had a bit of hormonal imbalance. Once we figured this out he made an affordable treatment plan. Since then, I feel so much better. The whole staff was kind and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to maintain health or regain health. Dr Sloan has a holistic approach, he took time to listen to me. Clinically Dr. Sloan and his staff are excellent. He found out what is wrong with me that 2 primary care doctors, 2 neurologists, and a rheumatologist couldn't. The only complaint I have is that their communication is not that great. I am constantly having to call to get them to tell me what the next step in my treatment is and sometimes they don't get back to me after my first request. Plus half the time they don't answer their phone during office hours. Otherwise I would highly recommend them. read more

I don't have enough words to thanks enough Dr Sloan and Stacie. I was so worried for the financial part and looking for answers and nobody was helping us. Even when we are in the beginning of the journey I know and I'm sure that Dr Sloan is going to cure us (my 3 kids, husband and me) and give our health back.
