Super cute hole in the wall out in Little Compton. They have an art studio next door where you can look at all the different paintings and beautiful homey outdoor space. Their coffee and lattes were straight up and pretty good. Don't expect anything fancy.

    Gorgeous summer garden in bloom.

What a charming and kooky little place we stumbled upon on a recent trip to Little Compton! This place may be tiny but it is packed full of character. We had a delicious hibiscus iced tea and a very good espresso. Unfortunately there were no vegan options on the menu so we settled for a pre-packaged snack they had on display near the cash register. We look forward to stopping by for a hot beverage next time we are in Little Compton.

A quiet corner of the world to enjoy an iced coffee.

Amy H. wrote a lovely review - I can only add that this is a perfect location to escape the summer heat, buy an iced coffee and cookie, and spend some time doing blissfully nothing.

To the right of the shed is a refurbished corner of an old house that has been converted to an art studio, it's pretty cool.

First we passed it on the way down to the lighthouse but stopped on our way back and so glad we did! It's a perfect place to enjoy some scrumptious treats and warm up in winter with some delicious beverages. I opted for a latte and it was so good. I purchased their coffee beans too so i can savor the wonderful memories we had. There is some seating inside and you can also take your food/drinks outside and sit by an adorable fire pit. My husband had a delicious beet salad and I opted for a blueberry ...i think it was a big glorified muffin of some sort. It was very good. So good i didn't even get a photo! I wish we had more time to spend at Groundswell. I could have spent hours there. We will definitely be back! And there's also a great store next door that has amazing homegoods. 10/10!!

My friend and I went on a weekday night, about 2 hours before closing so it was pretty quiet. I initially thought the bookstore was only on the first floor of the building but turns out it's a multi-story experience. There is a parking lot at the back where I parked and I was able to enter through the back door (not sure if this is the main entrance). On the first floor, they have some books, bathrooms, a check out desk, nick nacks (hats, stationery, puzzles, etc.), and most importantly, a coffee shop. The coffee shop was closing up around the time we got there so plan accordingly and do some research on their hours. as they are not the same as the bookstore. The books are clearly labeled by genre. After taking a stroll, we decided to check out the second floor which was supposed to have a little market, a stage where they host events, and some very comfortable couches along with tables and chairs. I mostly came to see if a book spoke to me, but also to get some reading in from the book I brought along with me. The lighting is good, although I sometimes prefer to have a dimmer setting for a cozier feel. We spent about 1.25 hours here, but we could have easily spent a longer time if it weren't so close to closing.

Honestly, this is refreshing as corporations understaff and stress their employees. This local owner know what we the patrons want, we want people who are happy with their jobs and that's done by great staffing. This is my go to for any gift. Yes, you're paying more for a book than you would on Amazon but this is the opposite of a greedy corporation who screws everyone. This is truly local and I'm lucky to live 20 mins away.
