Recently purchased a home with original systems in place and, as expected, started to experience issues with one of the HVAC systems after about 1 1/2 years. Happened to have already planned on having ARS / Rescue Rooter come out to get a quote anyway, so gave them a call. Tyler showed up within an hour to take a look and do an assessment. He identified the issues and offered his recommendation. That said, since we knew we would have to replace the systems, we decided to wait to get a replacement quote the next day, rather than fix the old system. Very appreciative of the quick response time, however! Scott then came out and took the time to listen to my concerns and, based on some initial research I had done, provided what I felt was a competitive quote for (2) HVAC systems, as well as a new hot water heater. He was not pushy and offered several options. Sam and Tim came out the next day and completed the installation by dinner time. They did a great job! They were respectful toward us and our home. Josh then came out a couple days later as planned and did the water heater installation. He also did a great job! I'm not sure why there appears to be a few negative reviews on here, but I must say that our experience was VERY positive. From the people in the office, to the account rep, to the installers, ALL were courteous and professional. There was never any "attitude" and, to the contrary, both my wife and I were very pleased that we dealt with such nice people. I hope to not have any issues, but I've been around long enough to know that "stuff happens" sometimes. If it does, I am confident that ARS will make it right. I like almost everything about ARS. The CSR's are always polite and friendly and the Tech's are all friendly and very good at their jobs. An area for improvement would be to somehow manage how often their customers are inconvenienced by the call that goes "I'm so sorry, but due to the number of emergencies we have, your scheduled service cannot occur as scheduled." We made sure to select a day and time of day (am or pm) where we would have no other schedule conflicts and for the last six semi-annual service visits, we have heard the above phrase. So now we have juggle our schedule again in order to satisfy the service provider. That's not what I call customer centric service! Make no mistake, we don't blame the CSR or the Tech, as both are great! It is somehow incumbent upon management to devise a system so that this does not happen to the same customer every single time. I have no intention on telling you how to avoid this, but it's your business to lose if the customer continues to be treated this way. I was in the hospitality industry for over 40 years and I know if my customers had to deal with this, and I made no attempt to fix it, I would be out of business in no time. read more

I had ARS put in a new heating and air conditioning system for my townhouse in 2014. They came back to service it a few times including in 2015. I never signed a service agreement as I thought since it was a new system I was good for a few years. June 20, 2018 the thermostat was set on 74 but the temperature inside was 78 and about an hour later went to 79 so I called ARS at about 4:45pm to see if they could come out and take a look. The girl on the phone found my name in the system but told me that since I hadn't signed a service agreement they could not come out. I asked if they could come out tomorrow and was told no. She said they would send me a $25 off coupon for a future use, big help that would be. I called Carolina Cool who made an appointment the following day June 21st. I owned a business in NY for over 20 years and would never do business like that. Couldn't believe what I was told. ARS, don't waste the postage on mailing me your coupon, you can put that where the sun don't shine. read more

Our Hot Water Heater was providing only a minimal amount of hot water. Prior to this, the heater tripped it's circuit breaker and when I turned it back on, the unit made a loud noise however appeared to be working properly. I called ARS and Shelley R. dispatched Danny R. out to check out the water heater. Danny arrived on time and found that one of the heating elements short circuited (causing the circuit breaker to go off). Based on the arcing that occurred, I was lucky that an electrical fire did not occur. Danny said that the unit had to be replaced and we readily agreed based upon the black arc marks inside the heater. Danny explained the situation and recommended a water heater that was larger than the one installed by our builder. He got us a great price on the unit and within a couple of hours had the new unit installed and operational. Great job Danny and Shelley. I scheduled ARS to do what we thought would be a routine maintenance check on the heat pump for a recently purchased home. The tech, Grant, uncovered several major issues which made it economically wiser to replace the system versus repairing the old R-22 unit. We were impressed with his knowledge and patience in explaining the details. Project Mgr. Chris Wallace spent almost 4 hours with us doing load calculations and answering our questions about the best purchase for our needs. He also suggested several changes over the old design to maximize our comfort and guarantee the efficiency of a new unit. The team of Joseph, Phillip & Jacob completed the installation. Grant's analysis was confirmed on looking at the discarded unit, that the old coil would not have made it through the winter. Overall we received great technical advice, a fair price and fast, friendly professional service. We have used ARS before and highly recommend them! read more

Amanda first contacted me to set up a time for a representative with ARS to come out and measure my bathroom space for a new shower. She was very professional and personable and respectful of my time as well. When Jonny and Addison arrived they immediately introduced themselves and again represented the company in a very professional manner. They explained, in detail, what the installers would need to do. They also took the time to help me look on line for a shower kit that would fit nicely in my small corner space. The next morning I received a call from Keith who gave me the quote and answered all of my questions about timeline, etc. Keith was very knowledgeable and professional as well as kind. I am extremely pleased with every encounter I have had with ARS and have no doubt that the job will be done exactly as I expect and as they have promised. Told me that it looked like it hadn't been serviced in 3 yrs despite the fact they had a service contract on it since the day they put it in. Told me my fans were going out and needed replaced $2811 just those 2 parts and almost $600 to clean the coils that they were supposed to have maintained. In the end quoted me over $4700 to repair and almost 10k to replace. Got another estimate on a unit in which the tech checked mine out and found nothing wrong with it. Nothing at all. So they apparently didn't perform the maintenance that they were paid to do. Lied that it was going bad. Then gave a ridiculous quote to replace. Did not give me a paper copy of the repair estimate claiming they would email (never happened after 2 days) or a receipt Didn't even give me my $1 change for thier "$19 tune up" from a 20 claiming they don't have cash. read more

Amanda called to let us know Randy was on his way to service our HVAC system. He showed up on time and was very friendly and helpful. We have been with ARS since we moved here over 17 years ago and we have had nothing but good experiences with ARS personnel. This is the second unit we have purchased from them since the first unit the builder installed was a cheap unit and only lasted 6 years. We purchased a Carrier in 2006 and a Rheem this year since our 10 year service agreement had expired. ARS spent a lot of time explaining everything to us, answering all of our questions which were many. They are always quick to come out whenever we call for service and are very professional. Randy was especially helpful and gave me lots of information on products I asked about. We will definitely stay with ARS. I cannot give enough praise for ARS Rescue Rooter of Myrtle Beach. I reside in Jacksonville FL and have a rental property in Conway SC. A fire caused by burning pine straw knocked out the A/C unit. Not having a vendor I tried ARS as it received good Yelp reviews. First and most important ARS stayed in contact with me keeping me up to date as to the progress of the repair and contacting the tenant as well as my rental company. By 8:00pm that evening Justin (the service tech) called me, advised me of the repairs and that all was again well with my unit and tenant. ARS could have charged me anything as I am 500 miles away but with the purchase of a well explained service contract that will take care of my A/C, electric and plumbing concerns only paid $87.00 for a much needed service for my unit and tenant. We had a new house built and had a major issue with our Jacuzzi tub, which was installed by another plumbing company RJ Plumbing (horrible company). They came out 4 times to try and fix it but couldn't find the problem. Giving us every excuse under the sun! The contractor finally called in ARS and within 5 minutes they found what the problem was! We had ARS fix the issue, not allowing the other company to come back into the house being they were very unprofessional and definitely not qualified to fix anything in our home! Addison from ARS was our service repair tech and from start to finish was very professional!!! He was on time, friendly, respectful to our home, and very knowledgeable! We had a failure in our Heat pump during the coldest night here in Conway Sc. I looked up the original company who installed the equipment 4 years ago and contacted this company. We had a very articulate service man come today and repair what was broken in a timely manner. He was extra caring on how the repair was going and showed me the problems that had occurred. To sum up I was very happy we had him for our service man he did a great job was very concerned that I see where the problem had occurred up in the attic. Upon entering my home he covered his footwear with slip on covers to protect our flooring. Needless to say if I should need furtner repairs in the near future I will be sure to ask for this technician . Ask For Wendall - A C if you need any thing done in your home. My A/C unit decided to shut down on July 4th holiday. Called several companies in area. ARS sent Carlos out to check on unit and he did a thorough inspection. Discussed options with me and I decided to get a replacement unit for my 15 yr old one. Ricky came and went over in detail what I would be getting and the cost of same. Said I could have it next day and I was overjoyed. Joseph and Phillip came the morning of July 5 and installed my new unit. These two men were very courteous and a pleasure to have in my home. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing and did the job quickly and efficiently. They answered all my questions and also cleaned up when they were done. Been using ARS since we purchsed home in 2010 & they have always given us outstanding service.. Amber (cust serv rep)who always calls us to let us know what staus is on appt & when tech is coming, on way or if he us running late which is rare. She is extremely pleastant & courteous. We have had the pleasure last 2-3 times of dealing with James S (servc tech) & he is very informative on explaining what he is doing, very thorough & very neat. He also is very polite & courteous. ARS has always been there for us. We have had a service plan with them since 2010 & we would never be without it. We had a problem with our toilet -- it got so hard to flush that a relative broke the handle trying to flush it. The amount of suction flapper was so tight, it was like working out to flush it. We decided to call ARS after looking at reviews. We called on a Tuesday afternoon and had an appointment on Wednesday afternoon :) ARS kept in tough with us letting us know when we could expect Jeremy. When he showed up, he was very professional and friendly! He checked out my toilet and quickly gave us an estimate for several options to repair, even up to replace, our toilet. I had yet another wonderful experience with ARS today. I called ARS about a week ago to set up a time for a technician to come out and write me an estimate for a new hot water heater. When I called ARS I had the privilege for talking with Cortney who was very knowledgeable about the services offered at ARS, setting up my appointment was a breeze! Skip to one week later when Keith showed up. He arrived promptly at 9:00am as I had requested. keith was very knowledgeable and very respectful of our home. He even gave me some pointers how I could improve my efficiency with my old hot water heater until we replace it with one of their 50 gallon units. We purchased a deal thru Angie's List, as we didn't have a regular plumber. Well, now we do! ARS! Samantha, Customer Service called us quickly and kept us informed about Dustin's arrival. She sent us his picture, so we would know who was coming. Dustin arrived promptly, and set to work immediately fixing our kitchen sink sprayer. We had a kit already there, and he used it to fix it very quickly. He asked about any other problems, and offered to do a plumbing inspection. We asked him to give us an idea about how much a replacement water heater would cost as ours is 16 years old. He quickly provided figures to us. Razak (Catti) and Ruben - Absolutely AMAZING team! Their interaction with us was incredible. They took the time to explain the installation of EVERYTHING. The work they did together was absolutely awesome. I have never had installers take the time to actually make sure it was done correctly and efficiently - and their attitude throughout the installation was perfect. They spent an incredible amount of time in our attic and with the heat index over 100 degrees they did it right ... sweating and smiling.
