Was on campus for a work lunch and decided to stop in. Such a pleasant atmosphere and very clean entering the buffet station was very clean. My coworker and I were one of the first to dig in. Salad and all the ingredients were fresh great options. The brisket was just delicious moist tender, and the flavors were spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed the menu posted today. It looks like they change daily and I picked one of the best days. All employees were very watchful making sure everything was cleaned and maintained in the dining area and buffet area. Awesome surprise in the University of Florida Reitz student union. It's only open Monday to Friday at lunchtime, but so much better than the choices in the food court. For $8.99, you Not only get an all you can eat Buffet (That's not humongous, but has vegetarian options) and a view of campus, but there is also waiter service, and the young students waiters are so eager to help you and bring water and coffee. I had vegetarian vegetable and mushroom soup, ratatouille, lemon herb potatoes, salad from the salad bar, and a little dessert. The garden burger jambalaya was a nice idea, but it was pretty gross. Some days they have tofu and the salad bar but on my visit they did not. Menu is posted online on the unions website. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!! Don't let the "all you can eat buffet among the skyline" description fool you. When you walk in they hand you silverware which is FILTHY (see photo). I legit had to ask for another set which was not any cleaner! I just feverishly wiped each utensil with my napkin to clean it myself. So gross. The food was also not good at all. It was room temperature and it just tasted old- like they never rotate the buffet to keep the food fresh. It just made me queasy. The dessert table looked good upon a glance, but as you see, my brownie was extremely raw. I was so disgusted by everything and sick to my stomach. My stomach hurt so bad and I was almost throwing up later that night because I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from this place. Please save yourself the stomachache and GO ELSEWHERE!! read more

Arredondo Cafe is a great place to have lunch at in the center of campus. When visiting campus at UF and your looking for a restaurant to eat I would highly recommend this location. Arredondo Cafe is located on the 4th Floor of the Reitz Union and its super cool. When you go up here you get an 180 degree view of campus. When you eat here it is a lunch buffet that changes everyday. When you show up it will cost $9.75 for lunch. They will seat you, but sometimes it takes a very long time for someone to come over and get your drink orders. The food here is pretty good. They always have a salad bar with lots of fresh veggies and plenty of really good food. They always have two different soup selections that change throughout the day. For main food they always have two different main dish items and several different sides. I like to go when it is Fried Chicken, or enchilada days! I also had the meat loaf and really liked this as well. The desserts are usually really good to. I have had a lot of them ranging from cheesecake to cookies and bread pudding and more. Everything is super good. I would say the only bad thing is the service here. The people who work here are all super busy and they do not refill your drink unless you stop them. Sad thing that also happened recently was we asked a waitress for a refill and she said she would if we tip her?!? Really? We made sure to remember this when leaving. I bring my lunch to work most days but sometimes I forget my lunch on purpose just so I can eat here. The menu changes every day and the food is always great. I especially love the at-home comfort foods that are served during the holiday season. The ample salad bar is a staple, and honestly, I could eat just that by itself. I'm a bit of a germaphobe, but there's sufficient glass guards for the salad bar (almost too good). Then there's a bread station. Next, there's the rotating menu that usually consists of veggies, starches, meat dishes, and other sides. They supply the calorie counts for those who are interested. Lastly, the lunch tour ends with the consistent smiling face of the guy at the carving station (I should really learn his name). Salad bar: Looked good, fresh, many choices (was not in salad mood today so I didn't try it, but my 3 friends all liked it) Entrees: 4 or 5 options plus a hot station at the end making a fresh cooked option for ya. Today it was sliced Italian sausage with peppers and onions - one of my companions had them add mushrooms and cheese from the salad bar for his. Side bar: Soups (2) and dessert items. I come to this place every Thursday. But man this Thursday, they had this awesome turkey meatloaf and baked chicken. Although I was disappointed that they didn't have the Italian wedding soup! Anyhow, for dessert, they had chocolate cake and brownies .. yum yum .. The food was good. and they were not too busy! so the service was fine and I end up getting my drink really fast. Located on the 4th floor of the Reitz Union, seating offers a great view of the stadium. Clientle seems to be mostly staff, faculty, and grad students. Once the tables fill up, you are left standing until someone leaves. Basically an all-you-can-eat place that swaps out its options on a daily business. The salad bar is impressive, with spinach, spring leaves, and the standby iceberg. They always have ham, turkey, cheese, bread, etc to make your own sandwiches. I've gone there expecting meat loaf only to find its their pork loins that I don't care for. That is annoying enough to almost take two stars off, updating their website shouldn't be a big deal. My favorites there are the meat loaf, the roast beef (with awesome horseradish sauce), and the vegetarian lasagna. I think they replace one meat side dish with a veggie option on Meatless Mondays. If you hate the dining halls and food courts or think they're beneath you, then go here for lunch and the food court will literally be beneath you. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet on the fourth floor of the Reitz Union that's (probably intentionally) not well advertised by the university. Despite being the same price as the dining halls, the food here seems better, though part of it might just be the classier way it's presented. Anyway, you get a nice view, someone who gets your drink for you, and a dining area that doesn't feel like Chuck e Cheese. My only real complaint is that they're only open a measly two and a half hours a day, five days a week, which is just barely a big enough window to get lunch, let alone anything else. Maybe it's staffed by students getting some sort of restaurant service industry-related degree, so it can only be open a couple hours? I'd love to be able to come here for breakfast or dinner, and I'd wager the hotel guests would like that too. read more

With a mediocre proffering of the typical buffet fair and marginal service quality, the experience was thoroughly ruined when they refused to honor the coupon they'd sent me!
