Their doughnuts are great, and baked in house right away. This means that if you're waiting for something at opening, you may have to wait a few extra minutes. For examples, their dipped donut holes were the last thing to come out when I was there. And, their dipped doughnut holes are the way to go, if you want a box with a variety of flavours. You could eat one of their four dollar doughnuts, and if you do - have the strawberry cream - but each of them is the size of two or three doughnuts from any other place. This isn't a four dollar doughnut that leaves you feeling empty, it's a four dollar doughnut that leaves you wondering how you're possibly going to finish eating it! But, the doughnut holes, the dipped ones, they're amazing. They're the right size to eat a variety, and not feel overfull. The thing that terrifies me is they have so many savory options, too. How am I supposed to eat everything I want? I'll need to make a number of return trips. And, they're dairy free. Which is great for allergies, and lifestyle choices. Love it. Love it. Love it!

I ordered the Chocolate Cupcake and the Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake (3.5/5). The cupcakes were light and fluffy. They were beautifully decorated and were not too sweet. I liked how they used dark chocolate as well for the chocolate cupcake. The strawberry shortcake had a strawberry jam filling which was a delightful surprise. I do wish that they were a bit more moist. The butter cream frosting was smooth and creamy with a silky texture. It wasn't overly sweet either which I enjoyed. Overall, a nice bakery that has a variety of selection from cakes to breads to deli.

Vibe was chill, staff was lowkey nice, whole thing was smooth af. If you're done with mid-tier slop and want something that actually slaps, go for it. No ragrets!

I didn't try to cheesecake, but my friend loved it, and is willing to make the road trip for more in the future!  I wanted to try their lavender latte, but they were out of lavender tea, and asked if I wanted a regular tea latte with lavender syrup.  The syrup didn't appeal to me, so I opted for the matcha latte.   The matcha latte was good, but not particularly memorable. It had a creamy texture, and the matcha flavour was sublte.  This is one of the larger cafes in town, with plenty of indoor seating, and a laid back vibe. The staff were also friendly.

I love this place, if this was in Toronto I'd be 15 pounds heavier. For sure give this place a spin, get their classic plain salt bagel, sit down, and order one of their amazing sandwiches.

Being a fan of the Bakes by the Lake lunch and treats, I was excited to see they had expanded and were offering more options to the gluten free and vegan community. The tea room is beautifully and elegantly decorated. From the light fixtures to the cutlery, it shows they have put much thought and energy into the vision they have for the space. I was definitely impressed! The menu offers a little bit of everything. My boyfriend, who isn't gluten free tried a gluten free beer and really enjoyed it. We were there around lunch so we opted for sandwiches. Not having to ask if something could be removed or was gluten free was so nice. We swapped half's of sandwiches and loved both. My boyfriend had no idea it was vegan cheese until I told him after he ate his half. He said he would order it again. The Gourmet Grilled Cheese had the upper hand with the black truffle dip that came with it - sooo good. How can you go wrong with black truffle anything?! :) All and all, was a terrific dining experience. We will be back for sure!
