The chicken wings were undercooked and instead of being tender and soft, they were very tough. I am very dissatisfied with the cooking.

We went for trivia which was fun! The food was pretty decent for the price and it was lively without being so loud that you couldn't hear your table mates. Our server Amy was very attentive and made good recommendations. The table setup made it kinda hard for the servers to work and was a bit tight but otherwise we had a great time. Found this place in a book at our hotel & decided to try it and how happy we all were to have experienced it!!! Upon entering we were greeted by Arthur who was also our AMAZING server!! From beginning to end he was very helpful, attentive and sweet!! Gave us pointers on the menu being that it was our first time there. They should be very happy to have him on their team. Cause of him and also the food we came back for seconds the next day!! Lol Everything we ordered was soooooo good!! I myself had a Asian quinoa bowl that was so delicious I had to have it again when I returned. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day!! My daughter had the naked wings with tater tots. Visited on a Friday night around 8 PM. My boyfriend was never here before, so I figured I'd take him. I ordered a brunch burger with house made chips. It wasn't good at all. Burger was dry with hardly any flavor-- I asked for"pink" but it was well done. The American cheese they put on it was a salty, cheese food product which was disgusting. The house-made chips were really greasy and I couldn't finish them. My guy had the cheesesteak with sweet potato fries. He said the cheesesteak wasn't that good but the fries were ok. The only thing good about our visit was our waitress. She was great, friendly and kept up with the drink refills. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap and the other girl that brought out the food, brought the wrong wrap for me. The one she did bring me, I would have NEVER ordered! It was so greasy that when I picked it up and noticed it was the wrong wrap, the bottom was mushy from the grease and the paper on the tray was covered with grease and gross! When my wrap finally did make it out, it did not have provolone cheese, no bacon and half a dab, if even that of ranch, which all were included on the wrap PLUS you could tell it had been sitting there because whatever kind of cheese that was on it, was dried up! Our waitress was very nice about it and did take it off our bill. Also before we left the manager came out and spoke to us, he did apologize however, we will not be back. Between the multiple errors with the food, the 'not' very cleanliness of the restaurant and the 27 minute wait for a small order (when it was not overly busy), we will not be back!!! The food here is consistently good, but the service can be hit or miss. The menu is extensive and covers a lot of ground. It's easy to find something for every palate. The crab pretzels are always delish. They have a large selection of burgers and I tried the Gouda one this visit. The horseradish aioli went very well with the cheese and bacon. The quality of the meat is very good. I also tried their regular Stromboli, which was super yummy. The beer list is good and they have happy hour specials. Overall, this is a good choice for food & drinks. The multitude of tvs (everywhere you look!) just reminds you that it's a sports bar first and foremost. read more

I ordered take out wings with celery and carrots and blue cheese, to go...the order was ready when I arrived but I wasn't sure where to pick it up because no one was there to direct me when I arrived. I walked up to the bar because that made sense and they were there. I paid almost 40 dollars for like 20 wings, all different flavors to try and sample them because its been years since I had Aroogas wings. I got home and they were STONE COLD and fried so crispy they disintegrated when I knawed them. I was so disappointed because they were so pricey and I was so hungry for them. What happened? They used to be one of the best wings in the area. I know there is a wing shortage, so I understand the price hike up, but the quality was so poor. And like 2 tiny celery stalks and 2 stale carrots with each set, ugh. Although the blue cheese was delicious! Not sure I will order again. read more

We ordered at 1020pm, waited 2 hours, Called the Restuarant in which they confirmed the order was picked up within the hour and then we receive a text message stating our order was canceled. However this guy picked up our food at 11pm. Is it grubhub drivers or the restaurant? This restaurant should be a shame of themselves as it seems it happens quite frequently from the grubhub reviews! Best wings I ever had at Arooga's: boneless with a mix of hot garlic and honey bbq. Also had Sudden Death for the first time, and it was quite hot but still enjoyable. Had their margaritas for the first time and they were fine but nothing special. The table ordered a Stromboli and we got a little grossed out by the mustard inside. We prefer traditional Pizzeria style Stromboli with marinara only. The service was a little flaky: server missed things like silverware and asking if we wanted blue cheese or ranch with our wings. read more

Literally, the worst ever in my long life. Ordered for delivery (60.00 plus). The delivery guy one hour forty-five minutes later calls and says "I went to the wrong address", another twenty later he calls and says "I can't find the Place, I'll meet you at Aroogas. " So I had to drive over to Aroogas for the food we already paid for. It was not only COLD, but really cold for being in a car that most likely had no heating. We're just passing through on our way to New York and ended up staying the night in Harrisburg. We were craving something greasy with vegetarian options and were delighted to find Arooga's! Aroogas has been a local chain in this area for quite some time and its reputation isn't the best. However, lately its gotten better in terms of menu quality and service. So I am starting to actually put it in my rotation of dining options in the area. This particular location is spacious so its easy to get a table quickly with any size party really. The menu has something for everyone. You can get entrees or just bar food. They have a decent kids menu too! The drink menu is large and they have a decent amount of draft and bottled beer as well as a full menu of cocktails. They run daily specials and overall the pricing is not to shabby. So all in all this is a good place to go with a group for a casual night. I am not sure I'd CRAVE anything there but the food is definitely better quality than it has been in the past and they're doing something with their service because the past few times I've been there I haven't felt like I was waiting and waiting. read more

Horrible!! Never ate that bad at a chain restaurant . My chicken shrimp rice whatever it was supposed to be was cold, the rice tasted like cardboard. Three tiny pieces of chicken , three shrimp, $15.99. Wow!! Comrade had a Stromboli, cold, tasteless, Friend of us fish tacos, fish supposed to be blackened which wasn't the case, fish tasted old and the lettuce was old as well. Atmosphere? If u like to eat in a main station like atmosphere u will Like it. Normally like Aroogas but this place is horrible. Server and manager tried to salvage the situation but honestly we had three dishes and none of them was nearly acceptable, I can go to Wendy's and get st least fresh lettuce on my burger and the burger patti is hot. read more

I came to Aroogas this evening and the food was great! It was after the Eagles game so it wasn't too busy. Our server was very nice. However, all other employees were crowding behind our table talking very loudly. Our table was right next to the kitchen so when they all moved from the server station to the kitchen it was almost equally as loud. Conversations were so loud I knew that one gentleman was new to the job and another was so rude when asking him to do something. I could tell he was very frustrated and it was kind of upsetting. I come from a long line of servers and the restaurant business in my family and I personally don't feel as though the way they were talking and interacting with one another was very kind. The good: wings and food were FAST got my order in about 10 minutes flat. Prices were reasonable, very nice dining room, clean restrooms. The bad: Ordered a soup and wings, few minutes later both were sitting in front of me. I prefer to get soup first and enjoy it not try to scarf it down so my main course doesn't get cold. Normally restaurant do this. For a place with "award winning" wings they need to learn how to cook them, severely overcooked, if I wasn't starv, they would have went back. To the point they were chewy and the ends were barely edible and burnt. Sauces were decent, they had a big list of them the Hot, was very salty. The Kangarooga was spicy, and I regretted not getting them on all of the wings. I'm not rating this place based on food or service, but for what it really is: a sport's bar. Arooga's is a great place to go to enjoy a beer while watching your favorite team. If you expect any more than that, you might be disappointed. You can tell it's a typical place for "bar food" and sometimes it's more like "fast food." I've had a few sandwiches off the menu and they're okay, nothing great. I do really like the buffalo cheese dip appetizer!! Also, the boneless wings aren't bad; good sauce flavors. I have given this location chance after chance. I have eaten meals here are done take out as part of fundraisers held by Arooga's. I have yet to be blown away by any of their food items, and when eating in the dining area, I have had very few positive experiences with their service. My most recent purchase was the baked potato soup which was a thick, paste like mess, (although flavorful, when I took it home and thinned it out with some milk to try to not waste food.) The wings are unremarkable although they have a large selection of flavors. If I HAD to recommend one food item, it would be the Stromboli. I would recommend that you order the original Stromboli and have them cook it "extra crispy". Otherwise it ends up being a soggy bottom crust. I do not recommend this bar / restaurant for large groups. The staff has a very difficult time handling groups more than 8 in my personal experience. In order to support a good cause, I will return to this restaurant, but otherwise, it is certainly not high on my list of go to places. read more

I've lived in the area my whole life, so Aroogas is naturally a hot spot for my friends for meeting up. I really wish they'd pick somewhere else. Numerous times my food has been undercooked or served like warm, in addition their service is horrible. I was here this past summer during a thunderstorm and the power went out, okay, no big bc weather happens...we waited for 45 minutes in the dark watching the managers scurry about bc their computer system went down. We weren't told that food was no longer coming out of the kitchen, no one came to talk to us. Finally our server came by to refill out beers, when we asked what was up she said she didn't know the managers are working on it. (By the way, with the power off, the taps weren't being refridgerated...we were served piss warm, totally flat beer) Finally we decided to leave, but not before telling our waitress. Neither of us had cash, and with the credit card system down, they asked me to leave behind my credit card information so they could run my card later...I don't think so. Overpriced horrible food with horrible service, don't mention the clowns "managing the joint"...never coming here again....you couldn't pay me to come here. read more

I have always had inconsistent experiences with Aroogas and none have been more than 3 stars. Always went back because they do have my favorite wing flavors. I decided to finally write a review because I have had it and will not be visiting again. I had been craving wings ever since quarantine started and thought I would do takeout. Upon arriving, neither of the employees were following any sort of precautions of wearing masks or gloves. It was very off-putting, considering the current situation. Family and myself ordered food here recently. Was told an hour wait time for pickup. No problem. Go there to get food around 45 minutes later and it was ready. Told the person who was ringing me out I had points I wanted to use. $10 off the bill. Everything down hill from there. She didn't take off the $10. Food was ice cold. Order was wrong. Missing a few items. Few days later we get a email from a Managing Partner to see how our experience was. Told him or her what had happened. Said we would hear something in a day or two. 3 weeks later still no response from management. Absolutely horrible management. Will not be going there again anytime soon. Wanted appetizers and started with the blue and bacon chips - they were okay. Ordered a crab drip with soft pretzels and the pretzels came out over cooked and hard. I will say they immediately took them back and off of the bill, which was great, but I was looking forward to a soft pretzel :( The wings were good but super spicy (buffalo bay) if you like that you will love them! Second visit: ( 4 stars) - We recently revisited Arooga's and enjoyed a much better atmosphere and level of service. The food was very good both times. Our group of 6 ate at this location on a Saturday night. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was good except that our server was pulled to the bar toward the end of our dinner. This led to longer waits for things we wanted including the check. There are lots of choices on the menu. Many wing selections and dipping sauces.
