If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a house earlier this summer in Baltimore that had roof repairs in 2014 by Arocon (with a 10 year warranty) and while under contract was told by Arocon that the warranty would be transferred from the seller to the buyer (me). I went into this knowing that there were serious damages to the roof that Arocon was going to need to fix (my inspector found things you wouldn't imagine on a house that had repairs 3 years ago). Knowing that the warranty would be transferred to me was a huge factor in my decision to move forward with buying the house. Now, I have closed on the house and they are saying that the warranty is NOT transferrable to me. They brushed it off and said they didn't know who told us that and wouldn't take responsibility for their employee. I sent them a copy of my inspection report which showed all of the damages and they had one of their contractors come out to look at my roof to see what was wrong in person. Their own employee pointed out that they (Arocon) had done the work incorrectly. They put all of the flashing on backwards, which has led to gaps and separation from the house, and as a result more damage. Where they replaced my AC unit on the roof after doing their original work the roof is now soft. Despite someone from their own team pointing out their errors, they still refuse to make repairs. They offered to do a "tune up" IF I PAID. Should I point out to you that a tune up would not fix the problems, not to mention I'd be paying? How can a company admit that they did a job wrong and not want to fix their mistake?? They are unresponsive which has led to any possibility of a resolution being impossible. Your call/emails won't be returned for weeks, and that will be after you follow up 5 times first. Honestly, at this point I don't think I would trust any repairs even if they were to admit they were wrong and offer to fix the issues. If you're considering using this company, DON'T. And if you've had any roof work done by Arocon I highly recommend you get another company that knows what they're doing to come out to look at your roof and make sure the work was done correctly. It's going to save you in the long run. ------- The comment by the company after my original post refers to my name not being in their system. That is because I bought the property they had done work on, so obviously it would be the previous owners that are in their system. read more

First, let me start off by saying that I was trying to use a Groupon, so maybe those customers get treated differently. I had less than stellar customer service from Linda. I can only best describe her personality as Roz from Monsters Inc. I was told my appt was from 9-11am on the scheduled day and found out the day before that I was actually scheduled for 11-1pm. There was no apology or attempt to rectify the situation. I asked if I could be made first on the list of appointments that day and that request was refused. I arranged to work 1/2 day at home and then the service guy didn't get out to my house until 2:30, so I had to use a vacation day and take the entire day off. When I called around noon to find out where the service guy was I was told "oh he's running late", but nobody bothered to give a courtesy call to inform me of this. On top of that, the lady on the phone told me that he really has a 4 hour window for arrival time, but that they never tell the customers that!!!! So by the time the guy arrived to my home it had started raining and he said he was unable to do the work because of the rain and he said that Linda at the office would be contacting me in a couple of hours to reschedule. She called me a week later!!! I had to miss an entire day of work and nothing was accomplished. The service guy was nice and polite. He was super informative. I am a newer homeowner and learning as I go. I bought a Groupon for gutter cleaning and the service guy informed me that I actually had gutter guards and that the Groupon didn't cover removing gutter guards. Now not only am I out a day of work, I'm also out the money I paid for the Groupon because Arocon has informed me that Groupon should reimburse my money and vice-versa, but that's another story, I guess That's great that your policy is to give a 3 hour window, but that's not what I was given. What do I have to gain by making that up? The lady on the phone acknowledged that the technician actually gets longer than 2 hours to arrive, but they do not tell customers that because they usually arrive sooner. I also acknowledged that I was unaware I had gutter guards, so what are you achieving from your response? I also acknowledged that Groupon was not your issue. Humans make mistakes, you missed the buck on this one, but you seem to have done well with others. Take it as an opportunity to improve your scheduling. read more

I had the siding, trim, and gutters on my house replaced. The work their people did was very good but their scheduling was very bad. The contract called for them to complete the job in one week. They did not they left the house without any gutters for over a week. During that time we had very have rains flooding my basement. read more

Bought the gutter tune-up as I knew my gutters needed attention. Office staff communication was great. They contacted me quickly and it was easy to set up and appointment. Will showed up on time at the appointment time and he listened to my concerns about the gutters and got right to work. He was very professional, communicated clearly and did a great job. He took pictures and told me everything about the condition of my roof and gutters. He got everything fixed up on my gutters and did it in a good amount of time. I'd def go with these guys in the future. read more

I had a very upsetting experience with Arocon. I hired Arocon to complete work on our deck. I got prompt and friendly service throughout the bidding process, but the work did not match the sales pitch. The first crew completed shoddy work. Many boards were not cut to the correct legth or secured properly. Several of the boards selected for the job were of very poor quality. Nails were left all over the site. A ladder and a large pile of trash were left in the back yard. On top of that, the crew was not aware of all the work that was supposed to be completed. After complaining, a the crew came back to fix the problems, but did not fix everything. One of the poor quality boards was not replaced. Another board was replaced, but it was jammed in place in such a way that the siding of our house was buckled. After complaining again, I was assured that I would be called back by the end of the day to reschedule another appointment. That call never came, and over a week later another crew showed up without an appointment to finish the job. From bid to job completion, the job took over three and a half months for a 1 day project. I got a lot of apologies along the way, but no concessions from management. Every time I called I spoke with a different person. Communication among Arocon management and between management and customer is a big area for improvement. read more

Scheduled tune up, , it seemed more like bait and switch. Said the roof had too many issues and could not replace missing shingles because it would damage the other shingles. Why they could not caulk around nail holes, flashings and replace the pipe gaskets does not make sense... Paid $200 for a duplex.. waiting on refund. Tech that came out was not professional. Understand if need new roof, but they could of done the tune up and recommended replacement... Not handled correctly. Prior experience was good read more

I guess they don't need business! A visit was scheduled and the rep came, took measurements and evaluated the property. I didn't hear back from him for several weeks, so I called the office and had to ask them to send me the proposal. I called twice before a proposal was actually sent. We accepted the proposal and tried to schedule a time for the company to fix the roof, but we never heard back. It doesn't sound like my frustrating experience was unique. read more

I had my roof replaced by Arocon LLC on 7/9/2020 after talking with a neighbor who had his roof replaced by them. Due to water lines on one wall in my attic, I was interested in either correcting that section of my roof or the entire roof. Each contractor recommended replacing the entire roof due to its age of 22 years and through our research, we found that a repair would not have been economical. I checked with a few different companies, even one that was very highly rated, and chose Arocon. They gave me the best price, offered 0% financing for 18 months, and came with a Home Confidence Plan that is free for a year. I would have given the company five stars had it not been for a few glitches--unexpected early delivery of roofing materials, incorrect amount applied for financing, and the roofers never found the hole the Arocon sales rep told me was there when he came out to provide the estimate. Kudos go to the site foreman, Andrew Hamilton, and his trainee, Bryan Smith. They really did a great job of answering our questions and putting me and my wife at ease. Also, the third-party roofers did a good job and they cleaned up well. read more

Simply stated, this interaction was perhaps the worse customer service experience in over 25 years of being a home owner. From the scheduling of the work, to the final bill collection, the transaction was handled extremely poorly. 1.) We signed a contract and provided 1/3 of the total cost as a deposit May 25th but didn't get a call from the office to schedule the work until I call the sales rep and back and asked for a my money back a full 9 days later. My roof was leaking so much we had to place buckets to catch the water but no one from this company offered to help until I learned from another company that I could have asked them to provide a tarp for some relief. 2.) I received written confirmation that the work would be completed on 6/18 so I arranged my schedule to be home. No one showed up. I called and was informed that my job was scheduled for the 19th but no one thought to call me. 3.) The contractors that did the work were good and seem to have done a credible job. 4.) I was going to remit my final payment but was just informed they charge the customer a 3% fee for using a credit card. That's not mentioned in the contract and I was not informed of the policy when I made the purchase. Ironically, now that I owe them the final balance, they have been able to call me 2 times. Funny how that works. I will be interested to see if this review makes it to their website or if they delete as it certainly doesn't show them in the best light. read more

My new roof leaked, then fought me to fix it and the damages inside of my house caused by the faulty job. Had to hire new company to do the work right. In Oct, 2016 you came out and replaced my roof due to a leak. In February, the same spot leaked causing damage to my ceiling which I had fixed. A salesman came out and said that there was a lot of human error on the initial job, and caulking and sealing of windows, siding and gaps was not done. They came out and "fixed the problems" and then fought me for weeks about fixing the dry wall that was damaged due to their error. Fast Forward to August, the same spot leaked again. Had several new companies come out and 1) they were in awe of how the job was done. At least 7 different pieces of roof were used for this job leaving lots of seams (and while not wrong, they all said they would never do a job like this as it lends itself to leaks). 2) None of the windows, siding or gaps was sealed, several gaps were big enough to put a finger in the gap. 3) Caulk was used to glue down flashing and parts of the roof and they were already cracking and they should have used Roofing Cement. Long story short, I had to spend another $500 seal the gaps, windows and siding, even though I paid Arocon to do it. I just didn't trust them to do the job right since they came out TWICE and it still wasn't done. read more

I purchased the $99 tune up deal found on Groupon. I was SO EXCITED to try the company out because of the great YELP reviews. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule two times (with 24 hours notice). On the morning of my third scheduled appt, I called the company to let them know an alternate phone number (for the tenant living in the residence that needed the roof inspection) and was told by the Service Manager, Linda Goodman, that I should find a different service provider, as they were "not the company for me." I'm not sure why there was a misunderstanding, I wasn't calling to cancel! Really disappointed with the customer service and will go somewhere else where I know I'll be treated with respect. Don't reschedule your appts or give alternate phone numbers, have all your t's crossed and i's dotted when you first call, so you can get this apparently great service. :( There goes my $99 that I will never get back :( read more

HORRIBLE! LIARS!! I gave them a $3000 deposit on a job and they cashed my check instantly. They pushed off my work and kept giving me the right answers every time I called for information on what was going on. Then I received a call 2 months later that they need $3,000 more because the original estimate was wrong. I demanded a full refund of my deposit. They did not send it. I am reporting them to the BBB and taking them to small claims court. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! read more

I was very disappointed with the service Arocon has provided me thus far. First I was told a technician will be at my place on Thursday August 7 between 8am and 12pm (my wife and I took a day off for this) but no one showed up until 2pm and when I called I was told that the technician pulled his back and won't be able to make it (no one called us to inform this). Arocon did not offer us a free service or compensation for the loss day off from our pay. Then yesterday (August 10th) a technician was supposed to come between 12pm and 4pm, he never turned up. When I called around 4:30pm the lady who answered the call said she'' find out" and get back to me and she never did. Till now he hasn't turned up, neither has her call. We are very disappointed and will be going elsewhere even if costs us double the price. read more

This is the most inexperienced company they are all very young and just starting out. They hire all unskilled laborers to do there work no one knows any thing about these subcontractors. They never came out to check on there work.I was having a 50,000 dollar addition built and what a disaster the first month was I ended up firing this company. They do not return any phone calls ,once they have your deposit there done. I really tried to stay local and give them a chance here in Westminster but my goodness this company is awful !!! The Arocon team initially installed my roof just over 5 years ago. It was supposed to be a tapered flat roof. Soon afterwards, within under a year, the roof began to leak around the chimney since the seam was not properly sealed. They came out and fixed their mistake. As home-owners I went up on the roof and noticed pooling of water 5' x 10' 1/2" deep on the roof two days after the rain, but was informed that this was "normal". Later on I noticed that since a aluminum sheet was put on a copper balcony, galvanic reactions were eating away at the metal. They came out and fixed their mistake, by removing the copper and putting another sheet of aluminum on. Within 4 years of their work, the seams around the skylight was leaking. The crew went up, and messily spread sealant around the seams. When the co-owner saw this and also saw the degrading seams around the pooling of water they stated they would come out and re-seal the seams. I requested they use a Eterna-bond tape (guaranteed for 20+ years) vs. the sealant which they were using which was failing since it was continually wet..they refused. The customer service rep wanted to know why I was so negative with their workers at this point of time. I pointed out their track record along with the idea that the additional downspout which was even installed to help prevent the pooling (did not work) was not even close to a 90 degree angle but more at a 80 degree at best. They fixed the downspout They have stated they would come out to fix their failing seams but have failed to show for multiple months. I requested I be present for quality control, and a guarantee their method will last atleast another 10years from the time of repair and yet get no response on this request. Buyer beware of Arocon! Try Brothers Roofing instead. They installed my other flat roof on my addition and did a phenomenal job. read more

Arocon came to give us a roof estimate. He did not go up on the roof, but used "Eagle Eye" (I think that must be software) to look at it. Then he went up in my attic and took one look at the plywood and claimed it would all have to be replaced b/c it's 3/8", which is not code. It was code when the house was built, and the state, county, city, and MHIC all know that, and would never expect every homeowner to replace the entire roof's plywood (unless it's rotted) when replacing the shingles. I let him finish his spiel, then when he left, started Googling MD building code, as well as spoke to my HOA office. The fact that he also gave us the lowest price of any of our four estimates tells me they were going to do a crap job, as well. read more

These guys are professional and did great work! We hired Arocon to replace a large section of shingled roof, several areas of rotted wood, and new downspouts. The work involved climbing up a treacherous 50 feet high and was extremely difficult. Arocon showed up on time......did the work.....cleaned up all debris......and were completely professional. We are thrilled with not only the fine work but they were also fairly reasonably priced for the difficulty of the job. We will return to Arocon Roofing for any additional work in the future...... read more

This company gouged me on price. I needed what turned out to be a simple repair. The advanced estimator could not ascertain the cause of a garage roof leak and recommended replacement of ~ 100 sq ft of roof at $1300 to cover all the possibilities. When the technician came to do the work 2 weeks later, he quickly determined that only a fraction of that work was necessary by pulling up a few shingles. He ultimately replaced 10 shingles. He did that job in 90 minutes with one helper. He had to call in to get the total bill. The management first demanded that the $1300 be paid. I objected to this and after 10 minutes of wrangling over it, they reduced the amount to $960. Definitely questionable business integrity here. read more

6/26/2014 spoke with Nancy Courpas, Human Resources, attempting to purchase the Roof Tune-up special for $99. She then checked my house roof pitch via Google and stated it was too steep and due to safety requirements, two people are needed. With the added labor, she proceeded with the quote $350. I agreed and the invoice was paid on 7/8/2014. 7/9/2014 Arocon sent ONE contractor (Chris), to perform the job. I noted that this did not agree with the initial assessment of needing TWO people, as my roof being too steep to justify the price hike from $99 to $350. I asked him where his co-worker was and out of concern also asked could he work safely alone. He explained how and proceeded. He was very professional, showed me before and after pictures of the areas he worked along with an inspection check list. 7/17/2014 Contacted Chris about the leak in my newly painted living room caused by the Roof Up. He stated he would contact the office so he can get a schedule and approval to return and the leak. 7/29 /2014 spoke with Nancy, after not reaching an agreement about sending Chris back to repair the leak; she was going to send a roofing expert instead. (Henry) 7/30/2014 Henry (Chief Estimator) arrived and was surprised of my expectation that he was there to inspect the leaking area and devise a method to correct the problem. Fact is he was there because he only sells roof replacements, and to pitch for a new roof, with no intentions of fixing the roof leak. He tried to persuade me about roof replacement. I adamantly told him that I am not interested in purchasing or do I have the funds to replace the roof. He then said that he will relay my wishes to have my roof repaired to his Arocon office. 7/31/2014 Called Nancy to let her know I spoke with Henry and was not interested in spending $10,000-$15,000 for a new roof. I just wanted my roof returned to the state it was before the Tune Up. I also reminded her that due to the leaks, I have to put my house showings on Hold, until the leak is corrected and my living room is fixed and repainted. I am losing possible buyers. This information was sent to Kathleen Palmer (Online Marketing & Reputation Manager}. As of now there has not been a response from either to resolve this matter. read more

Arocon agreed to install a metal roof on our entry. On 9/19/13, the contract and deposit were accepted. Several weeks go by and they keep changing the scheduled install date. We spoke many times to them trying to get on their calendar. Our job was small and they only have one metal roof team so our job was constantly pushed back behind other larger jobs. We finally had an install date on November 6th, between 8and 10am start time. At 10:30am they called and they cancelled the contract. Their reason given to me by the sales person was that they did not have a qualified person to do the work. However I had spoken the the job manager about 30min before and he said they under bid it and we would have to pay more to have it done or they would loose money. The sale person denied this. I'm actually glad now because I would not want them doing it improperly. This was a serious service failure and would never recommend their business. I would like a written apology to me, and on this site and others where I will be posting a review, where they admit the error of taking a job they couldn't do and wasting our time (and the 6 weeks of great weather). Their constant putting us off and rescheduling, then canceling the job on the install day was extremely unprofessional and a serious service failure. Nov 19th, they contacted me; This is my response. Thanks for the follow up. It's clear that you have great concern for your business, it's reputation and employees. I do not feel however that something like this error is the fault of any one person We had many interactions with your office and your team had plenty of opportunity to review the project and let us know the status sooner than the scheduled install day. That said, we feel that this incident is not worthy of anyone loosing his or her job over. These kinds of things happen and unfortunate as it is, it's not worth someone's job. I will be following up with the BBB and other reviews stating that you reached out we consider the problem resolved. Time to move forward. read more

Scheduled two separate appointments,no one showed for either one. The explanation was the first was due to a family emergency (understandable). The other was because the it was not on the guy's scheduled. Poor business practices and no excuse. AROCON Roofing and Construction demonstrated zero ability to plan, communicate, or manage. I do not recommend them for any project large or small. The short version: On December 3, 2013, we hired AROCON to build a small, 100 square foot addition to serve as a foyer into our home. Also included was a retaining wall and sidewalk. AROCON was hired as a general contractor to manage this project, communicate with us and the sub-contractors, ensure quality of the product, and maintain the agreed upon timeline. AROCON completely and utterly failed on all aspects. We spent countless hours identifying their shortcomings and often had to offer solutions to keep the project moving. On more than one occasion AROCON fell completely silent, for weeks at a time, with zero response to emails, phone calls, and/or texts. Almost every aspect of this project had to be re-done at least once due to poor craftsmanship, inability to follow the blueprints, and miscommunication (or lack of communication) between the project "manager" and the sub-contractors. AROCON also failed to meet every single timeline they ever agreed too. The project was to commence within 6 weeks of permit approval and completed within 6 weeks of the start date; after almost a year of frustration we were left with a half-built addition that required numerous corrections before construction could resume. On October 28, 2014, a Montgomery County building inspector identified numerous violations and concerns with the project. Upon reviewing the blueprints, the building inspector noted that the roof is not properly constructed and there is no engineering documentation on site for widening a doorway that is located on an exterior, load bearing wall. Had the project continued as planned, some very serious structural problems could have arisen affecting the new addition and our existing house. I convey the findings of the building inspector to AROCON and inform them that the contract is immediately terminated. A brief reply from AROCON is received, stating that a formal reply will be sent shortly. I have not heard from them in over 6 weeks. Overall, an utter disappointment.... If they reply, AROCON will probably claim that the delays were beyond their control and that their work always passed inspection.... There is some partial truth to that, but still does not address the main issue; AROCON failed to properly manage this project. Summary: Overall, there is nothing positive that I can say about AROCON Roofing and Construction. The project was poorly managed and executed. Communication was poor and at multiple times non-existent. The project "manager" did not manage, did not communicate, and routinely failed to do what he said he would. Reviews on this site, as well as others, claim that AROCON uses unskilled labor for their projects and I completely agree with that assessment. Overall, highly disappointed. I do NOT recommend AROCON Roofing and Construction for any project, large or small. read more

It was time for a new roof and gutters so I decided to get three estimates. Arocon's came in the middle. They were doing everything that the top estimate was doing. If any roof plywood needed replacing they charged $50 per sheet vs the higher estimate which was $70. The low estimate did not do all the work that Arocon and the high estimate was doing. Both Arocon and the high estimate were concerned about air circulation in the attic and were putting in smart vents. We decided to go with AROCON. On the morning that they were scheduled to start they showed up at 8:00 and covered all our shrubbery. I was amaized that all of the old roof was off and all three levels of roofing was on by3:00 and the grounds was cleaned and they ran a magnet over the yard multiple times to insure that there were no stray nails. The next morning a different crew arrived at 8:00 to replace the gutters. Again they removed and replaced all three level with seamless gutters with Rhino gutter guards and were finished before 10:30. The roofing and gutters look so sharp my wife wants to push up the date for replacing the vinyl. We will definitely be using this company again. I had one small question about the gutter job and the company owner showed up within a couple hours to reassure me on this job. Next year I will post a review of the new siding we hope to get in 2015. read more

First, I want you to know that I am very fair with my reviews (See my other reviews) Second, Looking at this company's other reviews, seems they are inconsistent with service. Hired to assess leak in roof and leak in and around fireplace. Sent Jason. He seemed professional and friendly. Went on roof and caulked around top of metal flashing surrounding brick. Went in attic, said way to hot, no ventilation. Recommended expensive $1400 repair around brick on roof or replace roof entirely. Rained a few days later, more leaking and water than ever before. Husband texted him and his reply was "Ok, I will be there ASAP", Which must have been a smart allic response because that was on a Friday evening and it has now been over a week and we have never heard from him or seen him. Husband assessed repair / caulking, huge gap under metal flashing, could not miss it... huge. My husband went and purchased the necessary items to patch the leaks, went on the roof and completed himself and we now have no problem. Waist of $99. NEVER AGAIN. Sad that we end up having to do most of our own projects and repairs ourselves all of the time when we would like to just hire someone at a reasonable expense so our days off are not always projects and repairs. Also, our roof looks fine, I have no idea why he would recommend a complete replacement or spending $1400 to fix the original problem. read more
