Estimation was done two days after I called. 2. the team was onsite two days after the estimate. The price quoted was great. They didn't play the "oh we found extra it will cost more game." That gained them a star! The team arrived, the setup did the work (it looks great), and they cleaned up the yard. They were friendly, and I would give these guys 6 stars if allowed to in this system. We recently built a new house and hired a general contractor to help. Gutters for Less in Frederick, MD was hired to install the gutters which cost over $30k. The roof was installed before the gutters. The problem is that the water falls behind the gutters since the gutters were installed too far away from the house. I called the owner John D to get things fixed. He was too busy fueling his jet so he had the sales manager, Mike, call me. Mike said that he could not help me because I am not the customer, the general contractor is their customer. The general contractor could not resolve the issue with Mike, which is why I called. They refuse to fix the issue unless we pay more. It would be nice if businesses did the right thing rather than try to save $2k. So Gutters for Less hung $30k worth of gutters knowing that they would not handle the water correctly and then refused to fix unless we pay more. Now I now why they word "Less" is in their company name. Less effort, less quality, less responsibility, less, less, less. John I hope the $2k you saved will buy you extra fuel for your jet. They get two stars for scheduling for the next day and showing up as promised. Other than that I cannot recommend them. I booked this company for a customer I do yardwork for. Upon booking I asked them if they blew leaves out of the gutters and they said "No, we scoop them out." So assuming they would not make a mess I did a full leaf cleanup of the yard and re-mulched beds the day before Gutters for Less arrived. Lo and behold after they left there were leaves, debris and even a shingle strewn about the beds and lawn that they did not clean up. When I called them they said they would come and clean up 2 days later but that was after a holiday that the house needed to look good for. So I just cleaned up after them myself. They quoted $225-$400 for a 2 story home and charged $400. read more

A few days latter I got a call and a woman gave us a quote of 1350 we said great and they gave us a date ! Because of the rain the date was pushed back no problem so they came today started the job finished the job and charged me 1475 !i called the office and a man answered and said that was the price ! Within 5 minutes of getting to my house, one of their workers rang my doorbell. He wanted to know if he could have my indoor/outdoor rug and birdhouse that were in the back yard. When I went out to check their work, they told me they were done. But, they were not done. They had not installed the 4 downspouts I had paid for. They went back to work to do it properly, but now I had concerns about the quality of their work; since they had to cut into the newly installed gutters in order to put in the downspouts. I called the office and spoke to the owner, Greg. I felt like he was blaming me, stating that I should have done a better job of doing a walk through with his team. I told him that I wanted him to personally inspect this job when they were done, and he refused. All of this set me off, and I dropped the F bomb. He hung up on me because he said he would not be cussed at. The situation never was resolved. And when I would call back, they refused to put Greg on the phone. I also want to commend the troubleshooter who came in response to my request for another visit to fix a remaining problem with a downspout. Turned out the problem had occurred when the house was built. The installers had cleaned the downspout as agreed but the problem remained. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had dealing with a house project. I called to get my gutters cleaned this winter. I know I know seems crazy to get it done in the winter but I got a late jump on things. Nevertheless, we had a streak of warm days that unfroze what was left in the gutters. I just needed the leaves taken out. The process started out smooth and the appointment set up went well. Then it went downhill. They came out on a Tuesday for an estimate. They told me $195 bucks for a cleaning and minor repair and they could do it on Friday. I said great, Friday is awesome because snow predicted for Sat/Sun. When they showed up, the repair/cleaning guys said they were unprepared for the fact my gutters were attached to brick. Unprepared???Didn't your estimator note this???Or was it a drive by estimate because they're too lazy to actually look??? MORE LIKELY!!! They told me they'd come back out on Monday and do the job. I called them Monday morning, post snow, and asked if they could still do the job. They said yes. No one, showed/called/knocked so I decided to call them. They told me they showed up but the gutters were "full to the brim with ice". I said I know, it just snowed but you guys said you could do it. They said I guess it's just "your bad luck". Excuse me? My bad luck? I think not. They failed and now will never be used. The sad thing is I was planning a gutter replacement in the spring and was planning on using Gutters for Less since they're a local company. I'll pay more and have it done by someone else. GFL had a good price and they installed my gutter very quickly. However the gutter leaked and they had to come back and fix it. Then I noticed they sprayed paint over the original finish and it looks bad. AND we have called 4 times asking for a receipt and warranty as promised. After 3 months we have not gotten anything. Had been happy with GFL for 4 years. Then this year they dont show up for a scheduled cleaning. I call them to reschedule and after already having raised the price 25% in prior years, and scheduling to come out this year at the same rate, they wait until everything is freezing and tell me they need 50% more this year. A fair price for a fair job is fine. Jacking your customer 50% after knowing the property and scheduling at an agreed to rate is terrible business. Kick these guys to the Gutter! read more

Thank goodness for these guys. A large home remodeling group came out to my house for a "free estimate" which took upwards of two hours of my day. The salesman was very good at what he did and convinced me that $2400 was a good price to put gutters on my single story ranch. That was "same day pricing", and I totally bought into it. The next day something wasn't sitting right with me, so I got an estimate from Gutters For Less. They came out and took measurements without needing to talk to me or waste my time. They gave me an estimate over the phone for a fourth of the price of the big guys. Their staff was friendly and the installation was incredibly quick and well done. I'm so glad I cancelled my installation from the home remodeling group. If you are EVER offered "same day pricing", politely decline and immediately seek other offers. SDP is a huge red flag that you are being pressured into a really bad deal. read more

I was looking for a gutter company to place a gutter system on our deck roof. I came across Gutters For Less on yelp. I contacted them and setup an appointment for installation on June 5th between 2 pm and 4 pm. Since this company came out to do this estimate when I wasn't home, I needed to be there to discuss the the plan to tie it into our existing system since this was not considered in the estimate. The installation date arrives. Oddly, I receive no call of confirmation so I call to ensure that the installation is still scheduled as confirmed. The woman on the the greeting message confirmed the appointment. The installation timeframe came and went without so much as a phone call. Conveniently, the office is closed at 4 pm. At a quarter to 5 pm, I received a call from the Manager who offers no apology but proceeds to state they won't make it before dark because they are still working at another site. I asked proceeded to ask him why they are just notifying me of this sooner. He then commits leadership suicide and states so what would you like me to do. It took the strength of Zeus not to rip in to him after losing a day of work. Instead of going down the confrontational path, I told him that I want them to come out on Saturday during their first available window. He agrees and offers a time between 8 am and 9 am. Saturday is here and no one shows up as scheduled. I call the office and of course they're closed. Just as I am in the middle of writing this review I hear a knock at the door and two installation specialists are here to do the work... in time to change this review from one star to four stars. The technicians were consultative and extremely nice. They did some really quality work in a very timely manner. These subcontractors were they only saving grace. If you can deal with a company that does not keep commitments or communicate delays in a timely manner then give them a try. read more

I wish I could give the zero stars. As the other reviewer stated, they have very poor customer service. Called for estimate to clean clogged gutters, repitch and resecure as needed. They gave me a 2 hour window of arrival so I stayed home to meet them. When they didn't show up after the 2 hour mark, I called and was told, without apology, that they were running about 2 hours behind. They should have called to let me know this, so I could have done other things during that time and then come home later to meet up with them. They finally arrived and did the work. The next day, I noticed that the one gutter, that is visible to me from our 2 story landing, was still completely clogged and had the same amount of several inches of standing water in it that it had when I placed the call for their service. I called back on 2/9 and was told someone would come out in the next few days to take care of it. No apology, sounded very annoyed, and she refused to give me a time frame for when they would return. She just said they would show up, fix it and leave a card to let me know they were there. On 2/13, I noticed that one of our downspouts was no longer secured to the wall and was blowing in the wind. We have lived here for 18 months and that downspout has always been secured. I called back and the same person said she would add it to the work order, but still would not give me a time frame for the work to be done. I told her I was not confident that all of the gutters were fixed and cleaned as agreed and wanted the work to be checked the whole way around the house. She said she would make a note and have them fix the 2 things I complained about. I then asked to speak to a manager or owner and she said that she was one. I again reiterated that I wanted *all* of the work checked since there was no way for me to get on my roof to see that it was done correctly. We had already paid $400 to have it done correctly, and I wanted to ensure that it was. She said she would send an estimator out, but still would not give me an appointment date or time for the work to be done. She also did not apologize for the poor workmanship, and has very poor customer service skills (very rude, sighing loudly with exasperation, obviously annoyed). If you want to pay for work that is not done correctly, waste your time waiting for them to show up without notice of being late, and be talked down to on the phone by the manager/owner, by all means, contact Gutters for Le$$! read more

When they called with a price I asked to meet the person who came out - I had questions about the work to be done. He came out, we met to look at the gutters and discuss my concerns. I was satisfied and scheduled the work. The two workers (I wish I could remember their names - they would get RAVE reviews) were professional and respectful. I called these guys for a leaking gutter. A small townhome in Leesburg. They stopped buy, gave me an estimate which was fair, and replaced front gutter. Had small leak at a tricky seam. I thought I'd get a run around. They returned and fixed it. What impressed me was this was all done over the phone while I was at work. Never did meet them personally. After receiving my estimate, I called and scheduled for the gutter on the front of my house to be replaced. I was informed that their policy was "payment upon completion" and that if I was not able to be home I needed to leave a check or provide my card number over the phone. Since I am not able to be at home during the day and I did not feel comfortable leaving a check, I provided my information and was told I wouldn't be charged until the work was completed. They were scheduled to come on Monday, it is now Wednesday my gutter has yet to be replaced...however the full amount was charged to my card. When I called the receptionist practically called me a liar saying "the guys said they were there" and it took quite a bit of time to convince her I wasn't making the whole thing up. Apparently their workers decided to say they had done the job, rather than admit a job earlier in the day had taken longer than anticipated. Now they're saying the soonest they can get someone one out is next week. No care that they have my money, no care that they should have done it days ago, and didn't seem bothered by the fact that this is clearly poor business practices. I had Gutters For Less come do my house in Gaithersburg md about 2 months ago. They were scheduled to come out on a Monday so of course I took off for the day to go over some things with the installers, around lunch time they still were not here so I called their office and was put on hold for what seemed like forever and then was told that I am still on schedule and they would be here when they finished the job they were on. So I waited and waited and no one showed up , I did not receive any call stating they were not coming anymore or anything! When I attempted to call back the office was closed. The next morning I called first thing and once again I was placed on hold for a while, then the "owner" got on the phone and told me that they had to reschedule it to a later date and was very rude when I was trying to explain that I already had to miss 1 day of work and that i could not take another day off. He said well we can come out Saturday. My gutters were already removed and it was calling for rain a lot that week but he seemed like he didn't care and there was nothing they could do about it. Why even schedule something in the first place if you can't stick with it?!? The installers who came out did a really great job when they finally showed up that Saturday but they could have been a little more professional when it comes to appearance and communication . From what I learned from the installers is that they have nothing to do with the scheduling or communicating with the customers really unless they are on site so I guess overall my biggest issue is with the office/ upper management. I do not and will not ever recommend gutters for less to anyone and if anyone does use them then I hope you have better luck than I did! read more

I put up a workshop and wanted to put some gutters on it to control the water runoff. My neighbor told me to call gutters for less and I did. It took 3 days to get an estimator out. He took all the notes and 2 days later they called with the quote which was quite reasonable. They scheduled my appointment for 1 week from the current Tuesday which was the 11th. I got up early on the 11th and began checking the driveway every 20 minutes or so. Nothing. Come 3:00 I figured it would be dark soon so I called to see if I wrote the date down correct and if they are still coming. After being put on hold forever I was told that they are on the next to the last job of the day and that I was the last job and they should be there shortly. They never showed up. The next morning I called to see what happened and once again was put on hold forever when I was told by the guy that was supposed to be here that he just ran out of daylight. In a sane world I would expect that I would be the 1st in line the next day but that wasn't the case. They would not have another truck in my area until the following Saturday. I am really happy with the economic situation in this country that someone in the building trade has so much business. On the other hand I wasted an entire day of my time waiting for someone that wasn't coming and that didn't even have the courtesy to call. I've always had it in for advertisers that misuse the word "free" in their advertising and now I"m adding "Guaranteed prompt service" to my list of abused phrases. I'm sorry I couldn't recommend this kind of service no matter how cheap the estimate was. read more
