How in the WORLD did this place get 4 stars on Yelp. It is a low key family place. It's clean. I ordered a side salad with ranch. Lots of brown lettuce in the salad so I just stopped eating. I also ordered 1/2 of the veggie stromboli. It was TERRIBLE. First of all it was a sandwich, not a Stromboli. The small smear of sauce was tasteless and sweet. It had mostly raw vegetables on it, including raw broccoli (seriously?). The worst part was the staff. 2 boys bussing tables bantering back and forth with one who kept saying "shut up" over and over. My server could have cared less I was there. She was visiting with her sister at another table and when she did talk to me she called me "dear" like 10 times while I was here. We used to eat here all the time, the last few times have been horrible. This last time all we got was 2 orders of the stuffed mushrooms, which they were not cooked all the way. A Buffalo chicken wrap, we didn't get our chips and pickle with that and a Stromboli and ordered it with extra cheese, well it had no sauce on it whatsoever and barely had any cheese on it. read more

I've been coming here with family since the late 70s. There Arni's Junior salads are very good. They use a white cheese the is delicious. They have I wide selection of sandwiches - the open faced reuban is good. Others in family love the pizzas. read more

After paying for 3 large pizzas i was told told it would be 10 minutes . At the 10 min mark the first pizza was placed on the warming rack , At the 20 min mark pizza #2 went onto the warming rack , After waiting 30 minutes my name was called and I was given 2 large pizzas and one small . I said this is not what I ordered . After 3 more minutes and 3 employees scatching their heads They found my third large pizza . The crust was soft and chewy ( not right for an Arnis thin crust pizza ) I will not return to that franchise store again (Columbian Park ,lafayette IN ) read more

I Had the sandwich crab melt which was Delicious and different. Reasonable prices on this menu can be ordered for take out as well. My friend had a large chicken Caesar salad. I have to admit that every pizza place I've ever been to in my adult life has been held in comparison to Arni's. I grew up on Arni's and I know everyone always says whatever pizza they grew up on is the best, but in this case it's 100% true. Arni's is thin-crust, cut into squares, and is very generous with the toppings. Greasy as all heck so definitely not good for you in any way, shape or form. Every year or so when I travel back to visit the family Arni's is either my very first stop or it's a place I go to shortly after I get there. If I could figure out how to have my dad ship me out a fresh Arni's pizza I would probably have to do it every month or so. Best pizza in the WORLD, hand's down. read more

The food was not bad. We got the loaded fries which were very good. We also got a 14 inch pizza with half sausage half pineapple. Pineapple was good but the sausage was too much we couldn't even see the cheese. 8/10 water. The thin crust kind of tastes charcoal-y. Classic place to go! I never miss a chance to visit. Lots of parking. Good for gatherings. Nice bar! Junior salad with French dressing is the best salad I've ever had. Always good ingredients in the perfect proportions! The Stromboli is a delicious sandwich. You get a lot for your money. And the bread is amazing! There pizzas are the best! The only true thin crust pizza that should exist! And the ingredients are excellent. It's the only place I ever get sausage on a pizza cause they crumble it so small. You get the best spread of toppings across every pizza. The decor in the main part of the restaurant is my favorite. Toys displayed everywhere. I like sitting in the room where the train runs overhead. And I still love peering thru the doll house Windows, to this day! read more

Arni's may well be the inventor of Hoosier style pizza. But I can't say it's the best. The crust seems like an evolutionary step towards Pizza King's. It tastes similar but isn't as fluffy. The sauce is also very similar. The biggest difference is in the toppings. Arnies aren't chopped nearly as finely as Pizza King's, and I think they are a little lower quality. The bread sticks are no comparison. Pizza King's are crusty on the outside and chewy inside and covered in garlic butter. Arnie's are just normal bread sticks. This all sounds like I'm hating on Arnie's. It's not bad pizza by long shot, I'd probably go again (the service was great), but next time Axl wants Hoosier pizza in California, he should ring the King (actually he probably shouldn't be eating pizza at all). read more

Went to Purdue back in the 80's ...used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Love going back...good memories. Pizza is Pizza King style..cut in squares, thin crust..delicious. My favorite is the Arni's Junior salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing and real garlic toast bread! Fun for the whole family! read more

We were visiting for a youth sporting event from out of town. We were looking for a place with a little bit of everything. We ordered a large pizza , salads, sweet potato fries and an order of potato cakes . The best thing was the potato cakes ! They are served with apple sauce and sour cream for dipping. I swear when you dip one in the apple sauce it tastes like a home made apple fritter like you may find in the south ! Not bad dipped in ranch either ! Service was top notch ! All the staff was friendly and great. I had the vinegrette with my salad , yummy for sure ! The only thing the kids did not care for was the pizza ! I think it was just a personal preference. I am not happy about writing another bad review, but the owner needs to address the issues I have had at this location, from subs being overcooked to the crust on the pizza tasting like cardboard and burning the bottom, I have tried other items on the menu like lasagna and "chicken Parmesan" and I am not impressed by pre fab pasta dishes, but tonight I had to call twice because I was put on hold and hung up on after holding, I went to pick up my food and the older gentleman taking payments was rude to say the least not to mention arnis has joined all the restaurants that ask for tips before you even see the food "ridiculous" i tried what they called chicken Parmesan but really was baked spaghetti with cheese and cut up breaded chicken chunks in it, not classic chicken Parmesan, I said who I was and he proceeded to get one box that had the dish in it and a brown paper bag with side salad and dressing and garlic bread only wrapped in aluminum foil which is not really an issue but he didn't even ask if I wanted a bag which it should have been put in a bag to begin with and after I asked and dealt with the credit card processor I looked up and he puts a open empty bag on the counter and that was obviously the extent of him doing anything else like actually putting my food in the bag, this was the final nail in the coffin I used to love Arnis and considered it a iconic pizza place that if you were ever in lafayette you should go to, now I after so many bad experiences I have decided that I probably will never eat there again, this makes me very sad... read more

This place is the bomb! Arnis has amazing pizza, salads and garlic bread! I love them so much they catered my wedding. The prices for catering were amazing. They even have a bar option! They also had gluten free pizza so my gluten free family members could eat as well. :) It was so generous. The best part is, the pizza is frozen before they get there so if there's leftovers..you get to take it home! it's not a lot of wasted food. Arnis is great and my whole family loves them! My family and friends love going to this Arni's. my favorite is their deluxe pizza cooked well done. The "dock" is their bar area that has an actual semi truck as part of the wall. Back in the day, they used to have a working horn when you sat in front of it! They can still honk it if you ask nicely. The family eating area has a lot of interesting collectibles and decor. Called for carry out and the lady huffed when I asked to make and order. I remained speaking kindly and every thing I would say she would sigh and huff .When she answered the phone I said id like to order a carry out and her exact response was ugh ok go ahead all snooty. Super busy night which tells me it's got to be good...no kids so sat in the bar...2 open seats...bartender a little salty out of the gate but turns out she's awesome just doesn't pull any punches...ordered a pizza without looking at the menu (because we are familiar with their thin crust type of pizza) then asked her what she recommended...without hesitation she said junior salad...added that to our order with no disappointment...our pizza came out faster than the people sitting next to us (which made me a little suspicious because I was wearing IU garb and this is Purdue country)...either they wanted to get rid of me or my pizza was special...no seriously the pizza was awesome and so was the staff...our pizza had crumbled sausage and the people next to us had chunk sausage...theirs looked to be a little more well done than ours which I would recommend...so in a nutshell...crumbled sausage a little more well done is how I'll do it when I go back...and I'll be back (this location is the original which I think there is something to that) read more

Maybe I'm spoiled having moved from Lafayette to NYC, but even when I lived here I thought the pizza was a joke. The pizza is basically just a round piece of cardboard that is then cut into squares. I don't know if people in Lafayette have never had 'real' pizza before, but when I've described Arni's to people elsewhere they literally start to laugh, and rightfully so. If you want good pizza in town, head over to Bruno's. Although pizza shouldn't be cut into squares, I will give them a pass. read more

Arnis Quality has been going downhill for years! From the ingredients used to the service! We have decided to never eat there again. The final straw after numerous carry out order mistakes and nasty tasting pizza and not so fresh Arnis Junior. I think people eat there mostly because of nostalgia. The taste that kept people coming back has changed. The service is lacking. We won't be meeting at Arnis' or using their carry out after being a customer for over 50 years. Loved this pizza spot near Purdue! It may not look like much (totally reminded me of an IHOP layout), but the pizza was incredible. Very similar to a Pizza King style with it being thin crust with sweet sauce and diced up toppings. I was very, very pleased! Pricing was reasonable and obviously with any pizza - an easy meal to share. My pizza choice was of course pepperoni, but they had a good variety of other options. Give em' a whirl. It's located in a strip mall type set up and I was honestly a little thrown off when I attempted to find it for the first time. I probably just came in the back way - who knows. I'm not from around those parts. :) But! I'll be back. This was the perfect "visit Purdue and take your brother out to eat" spot. read more

My boyfriend is from Lafayette and he loves this joint. It is one of the places he and many of his friends "have to go to" when they visit the folks in Lafayette. We all have our special home town favorites. Our waitress told us that "So many people stop here on their way home from the airport before they even get to grandma's house!" Their pizza is this crust and is cut up into little squares which is good for sharing. There aren't many exciting options on the menu (but I know I am spoiled since I live in SF) and there is not really anything "healthy" except for a plain salad. Might as well forget about calorie counting and get a stromboli or pizza. "Meet ya at Arni's" is their motto. Have fun! Mind you, my rating and review are only of the bathroom facilities at Arni's, and do not reflect my views of the food, which are that it is most excellent, and a first-stop on any trip to visit family and friends in Lafayette. That said, the bathroom, while reasonably clean, is somehow uncomfortable and humid. It's good that it smells like cleanser, rather than urine, but still weird, and you want to get out as soon as possible. I suspect demons. Either that, or voodoo. read more

I need to preface this with I am very particular about my pizza, I like East coast and Chicago style. I am given to understand that this is how the midwest does pizza. Most Arni's pizza come out as grease bombs, the crumbled sausage and pepperoni cook on the pie with the grease to do nothing but sit there. On the plus side, I do love their salads, there are always fantastic portions, and quite tasty, I am quite the fan of the clubhouse and adding tomato to it. Washing the lettuce for the salads and keeping food at proper temps so that when we get home an hour later we aren't in the bathroom all night would be wonderful. Proper staffing levels, such as only two people in the kitchen and one overwhelmed server in the loading dock would help on a Saturday afternoon. Additionally, very rude and ignorant lady in the kitchen and a manager that wouldn't give her name when there was an issue in the waiting area with another customer. Never again! Whenever I'm in Lafayette visiting family, we always stop by Arni's at least once. They have a full bar, amazing pizza, salads that we try (and fail) to recreate at home, and a pretty kitchy fantastic decor. We always get (and I recommend you order) a large pepperoni pizza to share, and then an Arni's junior salad. It's amazing. However, my cousins just introduced me to the Junior Southern Fried Chicken Salad, so if you are looking for something warmer, go with that. Arni's really is an institution. I've been told Lafayette has more restaurants per capita than any place in the US, but if you're in town, you absolutely must go to Arni's before you check out any other place. read more

Arni's is a Lafayette institution and I've been coming here since I was a little girl. This is the go-to place for out of towners. My older sisters drive straight to Arni's when they visit from Texas. They've even asked us to bring pizza and salads with us on the plane when we visit them! The food here is pretty good, but not outstanding. They have a pretty good variety of pizza, sandwhiches, burgers and pasta dishes. I love to order their Arni's Junior salad and have a piece of pizza when I go.Their pizza is crispy thin crust, which isn't my favorite but people go crazy for it. My favorite place to sit is the Toy Room, the right most room in Arni's. It's decorated with toys and even has a miniature train set that runs around one of the room. This place is great for kids (and maybe not so great for people like me who don't like dining around kids). All in all: a great place to try if you're in Lafayette! read more
