I just want to come on here and put my Input on for the 1 star for a Brian W. I'm a regular that loves to come see all the workers. They greet me every time with smiles on their faces and even bring my food to my table to me they don't do it all the time but most of the time it's because they are busy. I always do good reviews on here or Google but came across the one with Brian and just had to put my input in it. I was in the store last week I believe it was Friday & I over heard some of the complaints they got from a past worker which I'm assuming is the Brian W guy, Health department came and asked the GM (Taylor) if they can sit down and talk so they did and the health department asked how they do there meats and if everything is labeled correctly, Taylor explained to the lady they have a chart in the back that tells you everything they have in the store how long is last which first then she said was meats are good for 3 days, so if my manager slices on Monday it's good til Thursday morning but she tells her managers to throw it out on Wednesday nights because slicing gets done at 8am the following day, everything gets weighed out and put on waste sheet I watch Taylor go to there Coke machine grabs 2 papers and shows the lady everything on waste sheet even all the small details even with other customers being around and listening to it, she explains even the bread gets written down and thrown out with mold on it etc, soups get thrown out at day 2 of expired date on it. As I'm sitting there listening to this I'm thinking Taylor was just a manager her self not to long ago and go moved up to a GM so I'm sure she is still learning but she even asked the lady "do I need my servesafe even though we aren't cooking from raw meat" the lady said absolutely not, as long as you aren't cooking anything raw you do not need one so for someone to bring that up makes them think they are better then anyone. You can't expect to come into a food industry and expect it to be perfect. Taylor even brought up to the lady that she has cameras and is more then happy to show her the mornings of the other manager slicing and labeling everything and even showing the other manager weighing and throwing the expired meat out. Taylor even told the lady when she slices on Friday and Saturdays she will forget what day it is (laughs and goes pregnancy brain get she best of me) and I'll have to change it when I realize I put the wrong day on it and have to change it to the correct date Taylor explained to her that she has been working with food since she was 16 years old been a manger at all her jobs and got bumped up to GM that it's all new to her and she's still learning. Said everyone that works under her is also still learning for the new role she took on. It's not my business to come on here and have to advocate for the store or even Taylor but the way that review was just crawled under my skin made me upset. Don't let one review from an employee that obviously didn't like the work industry ruin your experience with firehouse, they are all trying to make the place better. And I'm sorry but every work place has people talking about other people but coming on here and putting someone down isn't okay. Specially someone who is trying to make the place do better. I love seeing Taylor's face when I come in to get my food and would hate to see her gone alone with the other crew. Everyone always has a warm welcoming even on tough days when it's busy but it's part of the food industry. read more

Hadn't had Firehouse in awhile, so came in for a quick dinner and had an average experiece. Pros - Speed of service. Food was ready quickly - Cleanliness- store was clean (at about 6p) Cons - Order was wrong and by the time I got food, too busy to have them remake - Staff weren't the friendliest, but it was busy and I think the two people working were a bit overwhelmed. - Flavor wasn't what I remembered for the cheesesteak. Very bland, good thing there was sauce and peppers for flavor Overall an okay experience, but doubt I'll be rushing back. read more

Not Friendly girls making food and one was a manager. Discrimination of home schooled co workers. Talking about things like that in front of customers is not okay. Phones were not put on chargers so the phone didn't work as a worker was coming in trying to say she called but they didn't believe her. This place needs schooling on how to act with customers in the workplace. Not okay. Will not come back. Took almost 15 minutes to get food and there were only 2 other customers. Always a great experiences at this location. I frequently order on the app and my sub is always perfectly made to order. The restaurant is clean and employees are friendly. I appreciate all the different combinations of ingredients, and any sub can be customized with choice of bread, meats, vegetables, cheeses, dressings, and sauces. This place is very disgusting and distasteful. Although the food is made to order that doesn't deny the fact that it is a big infestation problem coming from the kitchen. NATS to be exact. Customers are seen fanning away insects having their orders taking or giving away previously cooked products on sandwiches that insects have sat on. There has been times employees have went to the bathroom and didn't was hands upon returning. The mangers/gm have inappropriate conversations on the line while making food in customers ear shot. We had the New York Steamer (brisket, pastrami, & provolone) and the Engineer (turkey, sauteed mushrooms, and Swiss) hot subs and they were very tasty. The subs come in either an 8-inch or 12-inch size and white or wheat. They also have salads. Our food was ready very quickly and they had many people working so even long lines moved quickly. The people working there were also very good about cleaning empty tables and coming to tables to ask if everything was ok. The one really cool thing is their soft drink machine which dispenses 120 different drinks. It is a touch screen machine that allows you to create many different variations of drinks. I have gone here often for about 3 years now. Until recently this place was great and my favorite sub restaurant. The last 2-3 times ive gone here i get a sandwich with a pound of sauce. By the time i get to work/home to eat my food the sandwich is so soggy i pick it up and its flopping around due to being drenched in way too much sauce. After my last experience i will not waste money here anymore. The workers also like to complain about the business coming in which in my opinion is rude. I would say these are okay subs. The bread is chewy, and not really toasted. The only thing I liked about this place was the different hot sauces they have there! What can I say!!! The staff here at Firehouse was the best that I have ever experienced. My husband wanted to buy the company lunch but running out of time. The store didn't open till 10:30, I was in a panic mode till Stephanie (GM) picked up the phone. She was a huge life savor and took my order. The sandwiches were amazingly delicious as my son would say. Every single sandwich was ordered, cut in half, and disbursed among 30 employees. The sandwiches are huge, 2 people can share, be plenty for a company luncheon. You can't go wrong, the best place to get great food and great service. The whole entire staff did what to be expected. Firehouse Subs has great subs. The rolls are firm and nice and warm. Firm but not crunchy. I had the Steak House sub with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. This was just awesome. An 8 inch sub is plenty big enough but if you want more get the 12 inch. A combo has a bag a chips and a huge soda / pop. The Machine pic of the types of sodas to choose from is just awesome. Overall if you want a GREAT sub - you need to go here. Now this particular location. April was at the counter. Very helpful and nice.. Especially during a very busy christmas season. This place is a better version of Quizno's. I'm trying to eat healthier so I shot myself in the foot by going here, because their sandwiches are covered in mayo and cheese and they taste oh so good just that way. They prepare your sandwich pretty quickly, and I've never had a bad meal here. The big draw, in my opinion, is that they have one of those new touch-screen soda machines, so you can create whatever concoction you want. They tend to run out of things but are pretty quick to change out the cartridges if you point it out. I've tried their specialty sandwiches and their basics and have never been disappointed. The tables, though, almost burn out your corneas--garish dalmation print everywhere. ETA: When I checked in on my phone, they were running a special--check in on Yelp, get a free drink. Do not try to order online. Even though it is an option (advertised online and in-store) when I placed my order online "they never received it" even though I have the receipt with my order, correct location, and confirmation number. I would normally not let something like this bother me (I work and I realize people get busy and technology is not always reliable), but the employee who approached me simply said "I never got an online order, you'll have to order in-store" and then pointed to the line going out the door. Firehouse is a bit out of my way to go to lunch, and the parking lot in the strip where it's located is way too small. Moe's is located in the same building, two doors down, so lunch traffic is very busy. Firehouse is step up from Subway, with better meats and comparable bread. Subs are served hot or cold. Instead of by the inch, the subs are sold medium or large. I can't remember the actual size to compare to Subways, but the regular hot sub prices are very comparable to Subway. Specialty hot subs are a little more. This Firehouse was the first restaurant in Lafayette to feature a touch screen Coke dispenser. The best part about the machine is that you can make your own vanilla Diet Coke. The worst part is that only one person can use it at at time. I always seem to get stuck behind the person who can't make up their mind or can't find the drink they want and flip through the menus. Some people just should not be offered endless choices. It scrambles their brains. To make it worse, I've sworn off carbonated sodas and drink only iced tea or water. So I'm standing behind someone who can't decide when all I want is some ICE for my iced tea. One day I'm just going to say, "Excuse me, I just want ice, would you please step away while you consider the life-altering decision you are attempting to make?" Menu is confusing because the stuff that is listed on the menu is not a full list of what comes on the subs. green peppers and pickles are inexplicably chopped instead of sliced. Great food. They do warm the meat right when you order (in a steamer) and the veggies are fresh. I like the NYSteamer and Italian (good Italian flavor, and yes the mayo with dressing, it creates a creamy sweet Italian sauce). If you get the medium it's about 8/9in and just the sandwich (I never get the combo) is just over $6 so it's reasonable. The sandwich alone is flavorful and filling, maybe even 2 meals if you're not too hungry. Definitely better flavor and more food than a 6in subway sandwich for the same price. My only complaint was that the meat isn't as juicy as you'd expect from a steamer, and even with the Italian I order xtra sauce. Heads up though, they are making it as it's ordered--toasting bread, warming meat and putting it all together, so it may take longer than you'd like if you're in a hurry (mostly on weekends). read more
