I would love to learn more and have wanted to take a beginner series at Second Spring for a while, but am perplexed by the class schedule. Everything seems to be on weekdays at 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM, with no Saturday or evening (even 4:30 or 5 PM would be nice!) options for people who have work (or school) on weekdays. As someone who has taught craft classes myself, I find this a bit frustrating. It's so important that incredibly special handicrafts like quilting be preserved and passed down to the next generation of makers, yet this schedule seems designed to accommodate only retirees. That aside, Second Spring is a charming quilt shop that manages to pack a ton of fabrics, notions, tools, and patterns into a very bright and cheerful little space. The front window display is always a joy to look at, with colorful seasonal quilts and other projects. I continue to hold out hope that I will be able to make it to a class eventually.

If you can not see the shop in person they also offer online shopping, and curb-side pickup. They also have a sharpening service available for your scissors or even kitchen knives.
