Sleepless in Pennsylvania: We use internet for medical needs and safty for my daughter. We no longer have a reliable internet connection. Which is causing me undo stress and aggravation that I do not need more of. I had it with this company. Calls after Calls. Again and Again They blamed our equipment so we went out spent over $500 for new equipment which we could have bought food with or paid a bill. The problem is worse now than ever! Our devices are constantly searching for a signal. I am very upset! They get over $3000 a year from us which is expensive in itself! For poor service. We have to have it for medical needs and require it. This company is poor quality. This is unacceptable. We pay our bill. We should receive the service we pay for! If you have the opportunity to go with another company i would strongly recommend it. We don't have a choice that i am aware of. I am beyond stressed out. read more

Fiber Optic install. No one here yet for my 2.5 hour window - late over 30 minutes now. I have a scheduled appointment for FO install but they send me a notice in the mail threatening me if I don't install their fiber optics in 15 days they'll shut down my internet. Really!?! I started with Armstrong "service" upon purchasing a second home in Eastern OH since I have business interests there. In this area it seems Armstrong is the only game in town for Internet service. I started in 2017 with a price of $45 per month, the fine print said this was an initial discount, in a few months the gouging began at $75 per month. I'm only getting Internet, no TV or phone service. With my first visit for the setup in a house that already was wired for service the associate went through the house, in and out. It would have been hard not miss the massive cabling. NOTE: I'm a network systems engineer, degree in Computer Science and fully certified with Microsoft. I have years of experience setting up networks in corporations and small businesses. I've run cable through offices in skyscrapers in Chicago. So, I know a little bit about Internet, Computers, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, so on and so forth. I've worked and installed servers, workstations and trained people. So George finally comes inside and decides he needs to drill a hole in the hardwood maple flooring near where the modem is going. Nice!! He drills the hole next to an existing hole of the same size. Yes, I couldn't make this stuff up. He finally installs the modem, runs some tests and then want's me to sign some paperwork. In the dining room he starts talking about local sports, I'm not interested, but he can't shut up about it. On and on I finally get him out of the house. Before that another associate arrives and they yak, yak, and yak some more. These two birds continue their conversation in my driveway. I ask them to leave so they move their vehicles into the street. 40 minutes later they finally leave. I decided to have a look around my basement, and outside to see the entry point of the cable. On the West side of the house the cable is detached and about two feet away from the building. All it needed was a small bracket/clip to attach to the house. George skipped that part, I fixed it. In the basement I removed unneeded cable, up to 100 feet of it. George didn't see the point in this, he was interested in sports. Fast forward, January 2022. Over the years we've had very short-term service disconnects from the Internet, nothing too terrible. Almost like flipping a switch off then on. I've reset the modem at times and it was all good. Outside I noticed some cabling hanging from a pole on my neighbors property flying in the wind and a bundle of cable on the ground. This is not a good thing. I call Armstrong with intentions of also notifying First Energy. The Armstrong phone rep is barely audible, speaking in a whisper. I set my phone volume all the way up. Said Rep want's to set up an appointment to have someone come inside my home. Honest, the pole and cable are all outside, not on my property. I'm getting nowhere with the incompetence on the other side of my phone. He says he'll notify the office. OK, if that makes you happy. Later I receive an email telling me about an appointment I have with Armstrong between 11 am and 2 pm the next day. Say what??? Next day around 11:30 am I notice an Armstrong van in my driveway and brace myself. Nothing, no knock, no doorbell, no phone call. In about 5 minutes the van is in the street but at the poll on my property, West of the poll with the cabling problem. Now let's back up for a minute. On the previous day, after my phone call to Armstrong I reported the same issue to First Energy. A lineman arrived at the poll in question within 30 minutes of my call. 30 minutes!! He got out of his truck, cut the cable, attached the end to the poll, picked up the bundle of cable on the ground, threw it in his truck and left. All in less than one minute. You might ask, why didn't I perform this function with my experience. Because it's not my property, not my responsibility, I'm not authorized. Back to Armstrong. The young man was last seen at the pole on my property. He was sitting in his truck, talking and playing with his phone for 20 minutes. Finally, he exits his truck, fastens on his tool belt, hangs some other equipment including a safety belt to his waist all while talking via Blue Tooth. This guy likes to talk. He then gets his ladder from his truck and climbs the poll. still jabbering away. My wife asks, who's talking so loud??? He spends about 5 minutes up the poll still talking away. Next he comes down, takes his equipment off, replaces his ladder on the truck, climbs back in said truck and spends around another 5 minutes playing with his phone. I suppose they would tell me he was documenting his visit. On a side note, George told me I'd never get Wi-Fi back in our sunroom. WRONG!! I have ROKU streaming setup and it works very well. Sorry George!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. read more

terrible internet if I could rate this a 0 star I would phones never have internet every morning it doesn't work on my MacBook Xbox pc or any electronic device and I blame 50% of it on this app called homepass absolutely terrible. can't wait to gets rid of this garbage internet. read more

I just tried to cancel my business internet with Armstrong Cable at my house which I had for over three years for a home based business. I work in my house and got the business internet because I wanted a business account. Armstrong said it auto renewed. They want to charge me $5,608.90 to cancel out the business internet out of my home. This is not a typo $5,608.90 to cancel the service. This is unreal to charge someone this much for cancellation. I was already paying a high monthly rate $324.74 monthly. Now I want to cancel the service because the internet was always slow and lagging. My TV was even having issues streaming video. They are a scam total scam. Shame on them for ripping off people. read more

This company could not be worse. If ANY other option is available to you, take it. Maybe consider disconnecting from the internet and living off the land. Guaranteed a better alternative than using this company. I am no longer a customer. I moved to South Carolina. They continued to bill me after I moved. They attempted to charge me $100 for "unreturned equipment" that I returned. They claimed the had no record of it. They barely answer the phone. After I finally got all the bogus charges dropped, they added on $32.50 for my "final bill, even though I have a receipt from paying this bill. Whatever, I'll pay the $32 just to never have to think about this dreadful, unorganized, garbage company ever again. But, the only way to pay my bill is by calling their collections number. Unfortunately, this number disconnects after a minute. I have called 17 times. Today, I received a letter from their lawyer threatening to turn my "debt" over to a collection agency. Worst company ever. Raises rates twice a year and the service sucks. If you call to try and lower your bill they tell you it will go up if you cancel extra services. Since they have a monopoly on cable around here there's no other choices. They claim to be improving service and that's a lie my internet gets worse every year. read more

Punishing data caps, refuses to allow the customer to use their own modem, despite FCC regulations. Award-winning customer service is anything but. The only reason you are their customer is the complete lack of options. They are a monopoly and fully exploit that aspect on every customers. Easily the most expensive broadband ISP in the areas they serve. read more

If there was such thing as half a star they probably wouldn't even get this one star to tell the truth but that's all I can give them so you get a star for being the shittiest service I have ever been a part of in my whole entire life. Customer service is horrible they charge you up the ass for everything known to man you need to watch your bill and look at what you're getting charged for because other companies would never charge you for half the shit that this company charged you for. If I were able to switch companies I would but because of the area I live in and then being the only ones that would carry service out here I have to have them but trust me as soon as I can I'm getting a new service as soon as possible because I have never in my life ever been so disappointed not only customer service but the overall experience I have had with this service for a year and a half now.
