The Armory Smokehouse is a good experience. The food tastes good and is well prepared There is plenty of room to move about and ample seating. The bar has a good selection. And the tap is bottom filled to reduce foam. read more

Great food, all of it is very delicious. Also very relaxing sitting at bar area enjoying cold beverages. Wait staff is friendly and right on it with getting your drinks served. Highly recommend! read more

To me, the food is okay. I would not go out of my way to go here again, but if I'm in the area and really hungry I will give it a go. Service is good and the drinks are okay. read more

This place has the feel more of a bar that sells food, which isn't necessarily a bad thing just not for families. Food was just ok, we ordered nachos add brisket which was decent but there was hardly any sauce and the tray they cooked the nachoes on was too small, so you'd have fully loaded nachos first few bites and then nothing but just chips. Also watched them using the same dirty rags to wipe down tables. Also, there's a folded American flag in the establishment not being taken care of, in general I noticed dust everywhere. They could do better read more

My sister, Dad and I had a late lunch at the Armory. It used to be an actual Armory. I loved that the decor stayed true to the origins of the building. You will find uniforms, pictures of veterans and each military branch flag hanging from the ceiling. Our server took great care of us! My sister and Dad had the Louisiana pasta dish, Dad had shrimp and my sister had chicken. I had a bite and it was yummy! I ordered a grilled chicken salad and Asian smoked wings. My salad was pretty big and the chicken with tasty. It was served with a garlic breadstick that smelled good, but I gave it to my Dad to have with his pasta. Large bar with lots of TVs, and plenty of booth and table seating. Next time I would like to go at dinner and try the pulled pork. read more

Traveling this place recommended by hotel. 5:30 no wait was seated quickly. Server was pleasant. Menu had big variety to choose from. Full bar. Very large facility with patio and table seating. Tables were well spaced. Did not feel cramped or crowded. Was very clean- no dust on ceiling and vents- tables were clean no litter on floors. Well kept. Food-ribs were very tender, French onion soup was good. Brisket was tender a little over done but tasty. Wings were a little to spicy hot for me. I had them Teriyaki flavor. Only ate 1 . Ordered a pretzel to go will try it later . It was very large for sharing. read more

They have a great variety of food on their menu. And anything I've tasted has been amazing.

Honestly the food came out kinda coldish and order was wrong had to take back and recook it all over again and the meal was over priced for what you get size portions wise read more

Went for dinner with the family. Walked in on Sunday evening at 5, no wait at all. Service was good. Friendly and fast. I have always heard good things about the food but I was severely disappointed. I ordered Steak and Chicken (Grilled) with Fries and white Mac and cheese. The steak was over cooked, tough, and had very little seasoning. The chicken was dry and tasted like it wasn't seasoned either. The fries were overcooked and tasted more like fried shrimp than French fries. The Mac and cheese was mushy. There was honestly nothing about the meal that would make me want to come back. read more

Had our family dinner there and the service and food was amazing!! Wasn't crowded and we could visit after we ate! Big variety of entrees and appetizers that we shared were delicious! Will definitely be back and recommend!! read more

The food here is consistently good, I've tried many of the menu items and have liked all that I have gotten. My favorite menu item is their brisket which is smoked and so delicious. The service is always pretty good, I have had a bad server a couple of times but the rest have been really good. The only negative thing that I might say is it's loud inside, so much so it's hard to talk to anyone in your party. read more

Great. We really enjoyed our time and meals at the Armory. We were a but party but-even considering- the service was exceptionally slow. A few of us had to go up to the bar to request our drinks multiple times as they were never brought. Still, it's good food and a fun atmosphere. If we are ever in town, we will visit again. read more

I ordered Quesadilla and it was literally floating in oil. The server was very rude. I went back a week later and ordered Quesadilla once again. This time it came out and was burned to a crisp. I really felt it was done purposely. I had the same rude server. If I could I would give a zero rating. read more

Cesar salad - 2/5. Lacks fresh sliced or shaved cheese. Parmesan only does not cut it. Rolls - 3/5 only brought me 1 roll. Wasn't that impressed. Very doughy but doesn't taste soft or sweet as say roadhouses rolls 5/5. I was eating by myself so maybe their trying to cut Waitresses - 3/5 continued to bring me refills without asking. Was polite. However, did not check in at all. Waiting 45 mins for a steak, could have offered or brought another roll. Wait time for food - 2/5. A smokehouse that took 45 mins for their only steak option. I would have rated 1/5 but they were proactive and approached me to apologize and offered 15% off. I give them credit for this. Loaded baked potato - 2/5. It had way to much sour cream or butter. This was the first potato I had to scoop the topping out because i couldn't taste the potato. 16 oz ribeye - 3/5. The steak appeared cooked how I ordered it however it wasn't that hot. I am assuming since it took so long to come out, maybe it was sitting in the window for a few minutes. Overall I would rate the Armory Smokehouse 2.5/5. Yelp doesn't work that way so I will round up, since they took initiative in offering 15% off the steak. read more

Excellent food and service, always. Additionally I love their community involvement! Lots of activity there.

We went here for a special occasion , the food was great, the staff were nice and attentive. It was very clean and nice there. Loved the smoked Mac and cheese! You lost 1 star for a "full rack" of ribs being 8 bones not 12 and for bringing the wrong side dish. read more

Absolutely love this place. Had their bbq plate with pulled pork, smoked mac-cheese, & potato salad. Delicious! And the price was a very reasonable $10. Very nice full-service bar with seating for around 25 & 7 large-screen tv's. Beautiful building (old armory) & great atmosphere. The entire facility gives honor to all branches of the military. DON'T LEAVE without visiting their Troyer's Dawdi Haus Bakery. I stopped on the way out & tried an apple fried pie & a regular glazed donut. Amazing! Anyways, I highly recommend this place & WILL be back. read more

We tried this place for dine in and it's incredible inside! I totally recommend going inside if you feel safe. The waitresses were all wearing masks and it's new and super clean inside. There are lots of military uniforms and flags on display. If you like armed services decor, you will love this place. It's neat! The lights are bright and the walls of TVs make this place feel like a sports bar for service men and women. Check it out! The food was good but not great. Steak and Brisket were fine but the baked potato was slightly undercooked and the chips and salsa was kind of....Well, let's just say I have better at home right now. The Captain Mac was fantastic. It was more than I could actually eat so I took some home to my teenagers. They may not find it great but I liked it. It was unique and tasted almost smoky. If they had given you a vegetable wit it, I would have been thrilled but I ordered a small salad with it and it just seemed, like too much pasta and not enough crunch. Amazing sweet tea and they kept bringing us seconds! That's huge. Hopefully, they will keep working on a menu that provides more meat and vegetables and less, carbs/calories. It could be so much better and hopefully the food will rise to represent the great Americans who served in the military. read more

Just had one of the worst dining experiences of my life. This is also the first negative review I've ever written. My wife and her sister (along with the husbands) took their parents out for their dad's birthday. After our house salads which were pretty good, our entrees were delivered. Well five of them were. It became apparent fairly quickly that our waitress forgot to let in mine. I ordered the fried haddock with broccoli and a sweet potato. Rather than apologizing she threw the kitchen under the bus by saying that fried fish "took longer", which is ridiculous. Fifteen minutes later, which confirmed our suspicions that the order just wasn't included originally, I was delivered the fish with a side of asparagus. I quickly reminded her that I ordered different sides. While she went back to the kitchen, blaming them for messing up the order, a carbon copy of my last plate arrived. Finally, about ten minutes later my two sides arrived. Attached is a photo of the most miserable sweet potato I've ever seen. The entire table laughed uncontrollably. As the waitress heard this she explained that the sweet potatoes were out of season and "were much larger a few months ago." My question was "if you knew this already, why wouldn't you suggest I try another side?" At the end of the night, rather than comping my meal, we were given a large glazed donut with a scoop of ice cream, which none of us wanted. I understand she was trying to do something nice, but after an evening of delays, missed orders, bad food (my brother-in-law ordered the meat platter and was very disappointed), taking my order off the bill would have been nice. Stick to Texas Roadhouse or O'Charley's. read more

This place is not hidden, but it's a gem...as far as the quality of food is concerned. We've visited this establishment on a couple of occasions. The first time was a Tuesday afternoon. It was not busy and the service and food were great! The brisket Philly, burger, and stuffed mushrooms were delectable! On a separate occasion, we visited on Saturday evening. It took about 10 minutes for our party of 4 to be recognized. We were told that it would be a 20-30 minute wait. We opted out because we observed a wait staff that appeared to be overwhelmed. Patrons were waiting for answers about bills, their orders, drink refills, etc. I would return because of the quality of the food, but not when it's busy. read more

Have made 3 attempts to eat at this establishment over the years and each time suffered the consequences of slow service and poor food quality. Today after seeing some impressive social media post and it being over a year since last visit I took my father there for his 92nd Birthday. Nothing has changed, waited over 90 minutes for food and when complained I was told manager said I could have a free appetizer!!!!! I don't want a appetizer, I want the food I ordered. 98 minutes later food arrives all overcooked and small servings with a $107 bill with it. We waited so long to eat my father almost celebrated another birthday That was my 4th and last try to support it. After departing we went home and fixed ourselves something to eat as we were hungry!!!!!!! read more

The food was excellent. Our party had meals including: steak, ribs, brisket, pizza, a bowl, and a plethora of sides. The atmosphere is awesome! The building is an old armory and is decorated with old uniforms, weapons, and maps. The prices are very reasonable and the bar uses the bottom-fill system for beers. It only lacks a 5 star review because their menu is "transitioning" and they didn't have several things listed on the menu. The server was very nice and apologized. Also, the service was really slow. May have been a one-time issue. I'd definitely go back! read more

The food wasn't bad. The brisket was just so-so...more like slices of roast beef than anything. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was fine. Would I consider going back? Sure, but I would try other menu items. read more

Food: Food is delicious, the pulled pork is unique and even with no BBQ it blew me away. Salads are fresh, vegetables are cooked well and the smoked Mac-n-cheese is wonderful paired with the pulled pork. Location/Eating space/Bathrooms: everything is very clean, bathrooms are spotless, tables are cleaned well, and it smells great! Service: absolutely wonderful!! Rayanna is a fantastic server who cares about her customers, will ask for her again! Management is very communicative and involved. Negative: Availability of food is an issue, and because of the nature of a new restaurant it is a bit haphazard. I'm confident they'll figure it out! KEEP IT UP!! Thanks Rayanna! read more

Well I went for the second time a few weeks ago and I will say I was very disappointed!! The steak was not very good at all. It wasn't tender nor was it cooked the way I had asked . They wasn't super busy so I don't believe that was the reason, but I can't actually say what it was . They raised the prices to and for the money the steak definitely did not even come close to what they charge . Service was good our waitress was friendly but a little forgetful. The biggest plus was their beer selection is is good and they actually have a beer on tap that I'm a big fan of to that the only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars. read more

Excellent service. Sirloin was cooked as desired and had an excellent taste. Too bad they didn't have the banana bourbon toffee cake. I usually don't order dessert, but I wanted to try. I was a little disappointed not to get to taste. I definitely will try again the next trip to Ironton. read more
