Bourbon bruschetta (a couple pieces missing)

We came in for a late lunch and the restaurant was empty, very quiet with some music playing in the background. This was our first time here so hoped that it was just time of day. It's located in a hotel but easily identified. We ordered: Bourbon bruschetta Quesadilla Naan chicken sandwich with fries All of the food was good and would consider ordering again. Andre was our server and was pleasant and friendly. Great service. Missed pics of sandwiches but including appetizer.

I was very shocked and surprised how good this place was. I got a rare cooked ribeye and it turned out absolutely perfect. The sides were also great, I got green beans and corn with the ribeye. We got crab nachos for the appetizer and it was fantastic, I would get again (although it's more a dip than nachos). My boyfriend got the filet with blue cheese and it was also really good.

Filet Mignon Medallions So tender so good. The mushrooms and sauce had an amazing flavor

Great food at the Winchester. I stayed at the Delta Marriott where the Winchester is located. They have a nice dining room. You can sit at a high top table or a regular type table. The wait staff were all excellent. Very attentive and super nice. Because I was alone I ate there both nights. I was not disappointed. Both meals were excellent. They brought out a few hush puppies that were so tasty. Then the bottomless salad followed by my meal. They had great options for dessert but I was too full. I recommend this restaurant when you visit the area. It's very good, they treat you great, and they are priced fairly.

Great little restaurant in the heart of downtown Ashland! It's located inside the Hotel but not hard to find. We were seated quickly by very friendly staff. They showed us a pretty nice lunch menu and we decided to try their steaks. They also have great cocktails! The whole meal was pretty inexpensive, tasty, and a good experience overall. Id definitely recommend when visiting Ashland.

Ambience: youthful fun environment. Good background music. There's a bar area, lounge, patio dining, and indoor dining restaurant. Good lighting. Service: the server was absolutely fantastic. Juan was really personable with our group. The hostess were also friendly. Saturday night is busy time so recommend making a reservation! I had a reservation at 830pm and was seated at 845pm (we enjoyed beverages from the bar in the meantime). Food and drink quality: delicious! The food presentation was great and the quality was good. The drinks were the highlight of the show- spicy mule and bourbon drinks were fantastic! Price: absolutely reasonable

This is the filet that was supposed to be medium rare. You can also see a bit of the Mac and cheese as well.

I am not impressed with the food, especially for the price that was paid. We ordered two filets, both to be medium rare, a kids meal, and a cheesesteak sandwich. One of the filets was medium at best, but was good despite it being cooked wrong. The second filet was well done and really tough. They did remake it for us, which we were grateful for. I didn't expect them to deduct anything from our bill because we still received our filet. The kids meal, Mac and cheese and french fries, was a let down. Being in such a high end and pricey restaurant, I didn't expect them to bring out Kraft Mac and cheese. And it wasn't even good. Our waiter, Andrais, was really nice and tentative to our needs. He was understanding and polite about our food being cooked wrong, as well as apologetic.

Man I was so happy with the food and the service here! Our waiter, Eli, was the best! And the crab Rangoon's are the best I have ever had. Hit the tuna and filet medallions and it was great! This hotel and restaurant are the best! This is where I will stay and eat going forward! And the Luca hit the spot!

The ambience is debatable and the food is so so, I found it to be noisy and really not worth the price, however the staff is incredible.

We entered through the alley (there's a sign by the fence directing you where to go). We waited in line as the lounge could only be reached by an elevator. The employee was counting those getting off the elevator to ensure capacity was not reached. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes to enter. We arrived at the top floor, stepped off the elevator, and were immediately impressed. This was unlike any spot I've seen in Huntington. It had an upscale vibe (loved the decor), but drinks were reasonable. A Corona was $4, and a specialty cocktail was $10. And we hit the jackpot as we found two seats on the patio along the outside (with a great view). My only complaint was the wait time to order a drink at the bar. We waited roughly 15-20 minutes and were standing at the bar the entire time. It may be a good idea to hire an additional bartender on the weekend. It's a great place for a date or hanging with friends. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the food menu next time!

Flavor was great though Perfectly mid: the potato, the breadsticks, and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is just kraft with extra shredded which to me is perfect. The potato needed maybe a full salt shaker of salt and extra sour cream, but everything else about it was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The breadsticks were just good but nothing to write home about. Would come back for this: footlong chili cheese dog. The hotdog was genuinely really good. Perfect amount of juice and flavor, and paired with the chili and mustard was peak. However, I do not think I could finish it by myself and did split it with a friend. We also had to eat with a fork and a knife, but that was fine and honestly better. Water: tap.

This is barbecue that announces itself honestly. No gimmicks, no pretension--just meat treated with respect. We started off with the Texas Sausage Sampler which includes 3 Sausages. Jalapeno Cheddar, Hickory Smoke and Original Old Fashioned. Served with Carolina Gold Sauce, Mustard and Horseradish. The sauce is outstanding. Smoking J's Rib House in Ashland, Kentucky, is the kind of place that reminds you why barbecue isn't just food--it's culture, patience, and pride rendered in smoke and fire. The ribs are the undisputed star. Thick-cut, generously portioned, and lacquered with a bark that balances sweetness, smoke, and spice, they arrive with that elusive perfection every pitmaster chases. The meat pulls cleanly from the bone without collapsing into mush, proof of disciplined temperature control and timing. Each bite delivers layers: smoke up front, pork richness at the core, and a restrained tang from the sauce that enhances rather than smothers. Brisket lovers will find plenty to admire. The slices boast a pronounced smoke ring and a pepper-forward crust, with fat rendered to a buttery softness that melts on the tongue. It's assertive, confident barbecue--unapologetically Southern, yet precise enough to impress even seasoned purists. The sides refuse to play second fiddle. Mac and cheese was amazing, creamy with a baked top that adds texture, while the baked beans carry a subtle smokiness that echoes the pit rather than competing with it. Coleslaw provides a crisp, cooling contrast, cutting through the richness exactly as it should. What truly elevates Smoking J's, though, is its sense of place. This isn't barbecue chasing trends or Instagram aesthetics. It's barbecue rooted in community--food that feels earned, familiar, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming, the kind where regulars are greeted like family and newcomers are quickly converted. Smoking J's Rib House doesn't just serve great barbecue--it reinforces why Ashland deserves a seat at the table in Kentucky's smokehouse conversation. It's a destination for locals, a worthy stop for travelers, and a reminder that when barbecue is done right, it doesn't need to shout. The smoke speaks for itself.
