Several weeks ago, I contacted Sewer Line Warranties of America for a clogged laundry room drain…read more The man who arrived said he just started clearing drains. He was unable to find a way to clear the drain and recommended cutting the galvanized pipe and installing a PVC access so he could have access to the drain. I have the drain cleared about every two years and this was the first time a "plumber" did not know what to do. The existing floor drain has a rubber cover that, when removed, is where you snake the drain. He left without doing anything and the drain was still clogged. I would not recommend this company.

I recently had an issue with my main drain backing up into the basement. I called One Hour Rooter…read morewho came out and refused to snake the main line and instead tried to push water jetting on me for $1500. At that point I sent them away and talked to a friend who is a former master plumber. He told me they were trying to rip me off and referred me to Drain King. After speaking with Chris who was very knowledgable, Drain King sent Jimmy out the next day to look at the situation. He walked around my house to assess the situation and went above and beyond even though it turned out to be an issue with a sewage pump. We weren't sure if it was the responsibility of the city or not but he waited to make sure the city didn't try to push off the blame. It turned out to be my responsibility but thanks to Drain King and Jimmy I now have an understanding of the problem that One Hour Rooter couldn't figure out. In fact they were completely wrong in their assessment of the situation. Do yourself a favor. and skip the rooter companies advertising on price only to tryto upsell you on outrageously expensive and unnecessary solutions. Call a reputable company like Drain King where they won't try to take advantage of you and know what they are doing. I've never had a better experience with a company I've hired to address a problem in my home. I couldn't recommend them more.

Technician used no drop cloths and the old pipes busted through and showered my basement and furniture in black gross water. I had things moved out of the way but it splattered all over. Then collected payment and left. I followed up with SOS with two emails and have gotten no response. Hugely disappointed. I even pointed out to the tech that the pipes were ancient as my home is 100 years old; he said, they actually don't look bad.

We have used Grabow Plumbing as our go to plumber since they participated as a plumbing contractor…read morein a major remodeling project at our house almost 15 years ago. They have done a number of repairs for us during this time and we have always been extremely satisfied with the quality of the service we have received. They have always been prompt and courteous. The do have an emergency service which is available outside regular business hours. They are a relatively small business so we have gotten to know the employees which is always a good thing rather than having a new person every service call. Plumbers are not inexpensive but I believe that their prices are fair. I highly recommend Grabow.

Grabow Plumbing has caused 2 separate huge floods in my basement with resultant significant major…read moredamage to my property. The first time, we were gutting and renovating the main level of the house which included the kitchen. They removed the kitchen sink and alledgedly disconnected and turned off the water supply. Wrong!-- They did not completely turn off the supply and it dripped down into our basement storage area for 24 hours before it was discovered. The cost of the damage and clean-up was paid for by the general contractor who had hired them as a sub, though some things like photographs were irreplaceable. I forgave them for that one (Why I don't know!) feeling that anyone could make an error and I liked them as people. I had them do several small jobs in the interim without a problem. Several years later we began having a problem with our reverse osmosis water system they had installed during the kitchen renovation and a leak from the instant hot water. It turns out the system had never worked correctly from the beginning (we never understood why it didn't ever have enough pressure) and they came out to fix it and install a different filtering system. It took 4 visits to get this completed. On the final visit when they hooked it all back up and turned everything on a "small" leak was noted that they felt was self-contained. By that afternoon, our finished area of the basement had been flooded and we had a thoroughly saturated carpet, pad, etc. Needed Servicemaster to come out and take care of the damage, remove carpet and padding, apply chemicals to avoid bacterial and mold contamination etc. The present estimate for repair is ~$18,000.00! Grabow is disavowing any responsibility yet they can give me no plausible explanation for the leak which occurred right after they got here and emanated from the area they were working and resolved after I called them back and they came out the second time that day. I have spoken with them directly by phone and in person, by email and text. They will not stand up and take responsibility yet, again, cannot offer any plausible explanation for what happened. Because of my high deductible ($10,000) and the jump in already too high rates, I did not want to put this in as a claim, but I now have no choice and will have to pursue legal options. They then sent me a bill for $1500.00! I would NEVER use them again under any circumstances. Rick L.
