They were scheduled to arrive between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, but they didn't show up until the very end of that window. Once they finally assessed the job, they immediately tried to tack on an additional $150, citing issues with my pipes and hinting that the total cost could easily rise even further. To make matters worse, they claimed they were completely unable to open the water meter cover, insisting that I would have to call the city to handle it. They even went as far as to claim they had tried everything, including prying it open with a crowbar. However, shortly after they left, my son arrived home, walked out to the meter, and opened it by hand with absolutely no effort. I decided to check my home security cameras, and the footage confirmed that they never even attempted to open the meter as they had claimed. It really felt like they simply didn't want to perform the work they had committed to, so they made up excuses to avoid it. I ended up hiring another plumbing company the very next day, and they were able to complete the entire project--including the additional pipe work and even cutting into the wall--for a total of just $400. The second company was transparent, efficient, and professional. I admit that I neglected to officially cancel my follow-up appointment with Jerrell's, but given how the initial situation was handled and the dishonesty regarding the water meter, I honestly didn't believe they would even show up again. I cannot recommend Jerrell's Plumbing Service based on this clear lack of transparency and professionalism, and I would advise others to look elsewhere for their plumbing needs.

Decided to try Mesquite Plumbing/Mr. Rooter. We stayed home and waited for them to arrive. Late in the day they rescheduled for the next day. When they eventually arrived, the plumber looked at it and said that he would sour up an estimate. Thirty minutes later he presented the estimate for $1500 and another for $5000 to replace a non-leaking line by the street because the copper was "Green". Coincidentally, we just had that line replaced by Riddell for only $400, just 3 months ago when the city replaced our meter. I told the Mr. Rooter representative this and he told me that they do "by the Job" pricing vs. by the hour and that is why it cost so much. I paid him the $65 "service call charge" and sent him on his way. I then dug up the area around the valve and found a very small leak at one of the copper pipe junctions. Less than a half hour to fix for any decent plumber. I would literally be ashamed to operate a business in this type of predatory manner. If I didn't know something about plumbing, I would have been totally ripped off. BUYER BEWARE!

Definitely wouldn't recommend Total Plumbing and will never use them again. I hired them to fix a…read moregas leak on the pipe from the meter to the coupling before it goes underground. Oncor detected the leak, shut off the gas, and told me to get it repaired. Total Plumbing replaced the pipe and performed a pressure test. I mentioned that the Oncor tech said a small repair might not need a city inspection. They finished the job and told me I could call Oncor to restore service. The next morning, Oncor told me the inspection had not been done or passed. I called Total Plumbing, and they sent the same tech back out. When I asked why the inspection wasn't done the first time, he said he was relying on what I was told by Oncor. A licensed plumbing company working in Rowlett should know the city's gas inspection requirements -- not rely on second hand info from a homeowner. Because they didn't follow proper procedure, I was charged an additional $375 for a second trip to perform the inspection-related testing. This wasn't new work; it was correcting their own oversight. This raises serious concerns about their knowledge of city regulations and industry standards. They made an excuse to justify another service call and charged me for something that should have been done the first time.
