He acknowledged that he noticed the lines but thought they were "scraps." Needless to say I will never do service with them again, nor will I ever recommend them. Decided to try Mesquite Plumbing/Mr. Rooter. We stayed home and waited for them to arrive. Late in the day they rescheduled for the next day. When they eventually arrived, the plumber looked at it and said that he would sour up an estimate. Thirty minutes later he presented the estimate for $1500 and another for $5000 to replace a non-leaking line by the street because the copper was "Green". Coincidentally, we just had that line replaced by Riddell for only $400, just 3 months ago when the city replaced our meter. I told the Mr. Rooter representative this and he told me that they do "by the Job" pricing vs. by the hour and that is why it cost so much. I paid him the $65 "service call charge" and sent him on his way. I then dug up the area around the valve and found a very small leak at one of the copper pipe junctions. Less than a half hour to fix for any decent plumber. I would literally be ashamed to operate a business in this type of predatory manner. If I didn't know something about plumbing, I would have been totally ripped off. BUYER BEWARE!

During the work, they drilled through a 2x4 used as blocking in my coffered ceiling to run PEX, which I later discovered was broken. No one notified me of this, I found it myself. At the time the work began, no permit had been pulled with the city, which I also discovered and brought to the company's attention. When I asked a company supervisor why no permit had been pulled, he told me that permits are not typically pulled for large jobs because of the time and cost involved. I ended up having to find a structural engineer to inspect the framing and provide a letter before the city would close the job. To the company's credit, I think they paid for the inspection. With a cold weekend coming up, I recently went into the attic to add insulation around the most vulnerable pipe runs. It appeared that the plastic tabs on much of the foam PEX insulation tubing (used to close the tubing) had not been removed, leaving the insulation open-faced. I spent an entire day crawling through the attic, taping the insulation closed myself and adding extra insulation.

I originally reached out to them to install a smart toilet, and we agreed upon a quoted price of $350. They were scheduled to arrive between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, but they didn't show up until the very end of that window. Once they finally assessed the job, they immediately tried to tack on an additional $150, citing issues with my pipes and hinting that the total cost could easily rise even further. To make matters worse, they claimed they were completely unable to open the water meter cover, insisting that I would have to call the city to handle it. They even went as far as to claim they had tried everything, including prying it open with a crowbar. However, shortly after they left, my son arrived home, walked out to the meter, and opened it by hand with absolutely no effort. I decided to check my home security cameras, and the footage confirmed that they never even attempted to open the meter as they had claimed. It really felt like they simply didn't want to perform the work they had committed to, so they made up excuses to avoid it. I ended up hiring another plumbing company the very next day, and they were able to complete the entire project--including the additional pipe work and even cutting into the wall--for a total of just $400. The second company was transparent, efficient, and professional. I admit that I neglected to officially cancel my follow-up appointment with Jerrell's, but given how the initial situation was handled and the dishonesty regarding the water meter, I honestly didn't believe they would even show up again. I cannot recommend Jerrell's Plumbing Service based on this clear lack of transparency and professionalism, and I would advise others to look elsewhere for their plumbing needs.
