The worst experience. Katrina which stated 8+ years experience I would second that as more an inexperienced and not educate. On top of the bad hair cut experience the employee had two non employees (mom and possible brother) hanging out and mom was giving her opinions on how my daughter hair should look. With a simple cut with bangs that turned into now another salon having to correct and fix their cut and trim. First time at this location and will be out last time. Unfortunate Experience. read more

This review is specifically for Ashley who cut my hair at this location. She is absolutely incredible! I went in for a haircut after neglecting my hair for 7 months bc I never really love my hair after a fresh cut. I gave her general ideas of what I thought I wanted but didn't really know. I told her to take the lead and she revamped my hair! Gave it new life even! The best part was that she was excited about my hair which made me excited. I know deep down I have good hair but loose enthusiasm. Being on her chair made me LOVE my hair again and thankful for it. She did a hands down perfect job and I wish I had better pictures to show the layers! Since leaving her chair I've gotten compliments from people I know to strangers at the store. An hour before the appt I get another text message but from their Gilbert and Baseline location. On Wednesday my daughter got a trim and was supposed to get her hair dyed purple and gray. The hair cut is one of the worst that I have ever seen. Her bangs are cut about 1/2 in one area and then less on the rest. The hair dye only blotched on on different spots on her head. There are white/blond spots all over her head (from her hair being bleeched). And her scalp was burned. I was quoted $25.00 for the hair cut and up to $125. for both the hair cut and the dye. The stylist took $200. from my daughter and an additional $45.00 from Mother-in law. So basically we paid $245. for a HORRIBLE trim and NON existent hair color. I can only imagine how horrible it will look when she has to wash it. So sad to do that to a sweet 13 year old girl. She had to start school being teased and she has beenin tears since she got home from your shop. I have no idea why anyone would think that this is okay service. Her birthday is tomorrow and she wants to cancel her party. I certainly can not afford to pay someone else to fix the mess that your stylist made. read more

Janae at the chandler Blvd/Dobson location is the best she really listens to what you want and gives you great input to make sure you will look your best! I think she goes above and beyond for not only me but for her co-workers as well. I have been there several times and she is always will to help you out by coming in early or staying thru her lunch just to fit you in. I will never go to another hair stylist and if she goes elsewhere I would follow her! She is worth it keeping because she is really that good and she treats you great! read more

I usually pay a lot more for my hair cuts so I was pleasantly surprised by how well my hair turned out. Brittney was recommended to my by someone on Facebook so I thought I'd give her a shot. After getting my haircut and beard trim I got home and had to redo it all. Uneven and missed spots. I will never be back.

Don't expect appointments to be kept. Unfortunately, when I booked 2 different appointments here (both booked 4 to 7 weeks in advance) they could not be honored. For my first visit they called same day saying the stylist was double booked and needed to push back my 4:00 to 5:30 or 6:00. Second appointment I got a call the day before saying the stylist was on vacation and needed to be rescheduled- offered to squeeze me in at 5:30 when my original appointment was at 4:00. When asked why I wasn't notified sooner since the stylist is on vacation they thought someone has already reached out to me I asked to talk to the owner, the lady made it sound like that wasn't an option so I asked to speak to a manager but there wasn't one working. I didn't receive a call from the manager until 3 days later! I will not book a 3rd appointment here as I book appointments with the thought they will be kept which is not my experience at AZ Hair Company. read more

I been long over due for a hair cut. I finally found a decent place with decent price. They didnt have many review but I figure just to give it a shot. I call in first to get an appt., then I asked for an estimated price for long hair. My hair is above my waist line and over my bra bust line. She quoted me roughly for all over hair color starting $47 and up. Hair cut are $15 no style. My hair stylist name is Kallie. She was super helpful and nice. She told me exactly what needed to get done, if I agree we proceed after she gives me the final price. So there isnt any surprise when I pay at the end of my session. I did an all over color in dark brown, quarter low lites and hair cut. She also threw in deep conditioning during the shampoo process. After the blowdry she also straighten my hair to make it look nice. Since I had a day off and was running errand. She wanted me to look extra nice. So sweet! I am planning to come back so my nieces can get their hair done by Kallie. Love you! read more

Let me start off by saying that Maggie is awesome!! I just moved here, literally a week ago, and I was long overdue to a hair cut and color. I hate trying to find a new hair dresser, but I struck gold and the Val Vista/Ray location of Arizona Hair Co. Maggie listened to what I wanted, looked at 2 pictures I brought it and helped me find a happy medium. Although Maggie was awesome and super professional, the rest of the salon was not. There was a lady that appeared to be the manager who was hollering across the salon, eating in front of clients, and at one point she opened the front door and started thrusting towards something outside. When I first called and made the appointment, the receptionist was rude and very short with me, and she wasn't very pleasant in person either. Although it wasn't a perfect experience, Maggie was totally worth it and I will be going back to her. Oh and I forgot to mention, the prices are awesome!! read more

My stylist recently moved to this location and just like her previous location I love getting my haircut here. As a guy, it's a nice change of pace from typical barbershops. The price for my haircut is always around the $15 mark which is great, place they wash my hair which, if you're a guy , doesn't happen at a barbershop so the head massage is an added bonus. Oh my goodness... I don't even know this ladies name but she had a short hair cut with pink hair. First off she had never EVER used color remover before and she told me it could be on my hair for up to an hour, and guess what she leaves it on for two.... didn't saturate half of it mind you. Then washes it out and colors it. My hair is half orange, half black, and partially brown. Never ever go here if you want your hair done. Went in with a simple request; bangs. I have a big forehead and decided I needed bangs. I went in with a simple picture of full, blended bangs. I asked specifically to not cut them straight across. She cut them standing directly in front of me. (I couldn't see the mirror). She asked me if that was enough bangs for me, I said, no, a little more hair, and sarcastically said, and add a few inches back. She finished up, having cut the bangs straight across and not even a hint of blending. I told her I thought they were too short, that luckily they would grow back. I went up front and paid, expressing how "not happy" I was at the receptionist. I kept my cool but said I wasn't happy, they were cut too short. I didn't like my haircut. It looked very masculine and different from the picture I showed her, which she just glanced at for a few seconds. She just chopped off the hair from the bottom and didn't cut layers in my hair like I requested. It was cut oddly that it kept puffing out at the bottom, but remained flat at the top. Marci at AZ Hair Co at Lindsay and Warner is the ONLY person I allow to do my "do" because it's always perfect - every time. Marcy is not only talented, she is very well trained and is always current on the latest styles and trends. Today she turned my brown hair into all-over summer blonde, which was no small feat since my hair is naturally medium brown and has been dyed dark brown for over a year now. She worked her magic and the result is divine and so was the price! I live in Scottsdale and driving over the Marci at AZ Hair Co in Gilbert is always worth it. My daughter pays over $200 in Scottsdale for the same hair color process I just had and I get better service for less than half the price of a Scottsdale salon. I took my 3 year old here for a haircut and he walked out with the worst one ever. I understand he is a kid, but he always sits still for his cuts. The stylist looked as if she was not comfortable cutting his hair and completely rushed through it. We were out of there in 10 minutes! To top it all off, she cut his ear with the clippers and didn't even bother to wipe the blood off. When I made my appointment, I made sure to tell the receptionist that I was bringing in my 3 year old. Not sure why they gave us someone who clearly isn't good with cutting a child's hair.
