I was already hesitant to get my hair done but I decided to go against my better judgement. I go and the place was dirty, the walls, the floors, the drawers all filthy. But I told myself let's just get this done. All I wanted was a trim and my hair to be dyed a natural black. Because I'm beginning to go gray. So I felt like this should be an easy thing to do. I don't normally go to salons, I don't normally dye my hair. Two young girls (I wish I remembered their names) start just brushing black hair dye all over the place. It was getting over my forehead, cheek, ears neck. They put nothing on before hand to make sure it didn't stain my face. When I finally get my hair wash I agree to a condition treatment. I felt like I got nothing done, I just sat there for 5 minutes. Then she blew dried my hair, not using a brush. Then used a tiny flat iron to straighten my hair. That's when I see these girls dyed my side burns black! Each side burn, why would you do that? It's like I got a line up. I'm so embarrassed. I paid over 2 hundred dollars to be completely embarrassed I look like I have side burns. I regret going here, I wish I could take it all back. I also still have grays. read more

Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience. I came in for a haircut and blowout, but the blowout was not styled well and felt more like she was passing the blow drying and frying my hair. If I can give this place no STARS I would . All of the stylists I've seen are rude and unprofessional. They stated the last place I went to ruined my hair but I took pictures of their work and after seeing them I started noticing itchiness and my head was always sore from the tape ins . The last girl that did my hair she was very rude and gave me an attitude because I told her to fix a few tape ins that her other co - worker did and she was pulling my hair and it was painful . So now when I posted a bad review she decided to post about my mental health and said I'm high on pills ? Excuse me ????? I do not recommend this place to anyone . It's dirty too and they do not sanitize their hairbrushes and hair is all over the chair and under the cushion. Update : my new stylist took 7 hrs to remove the taps ins because the glue was stuck through all out my hair . I had chunks of hair come out from all the glue . read more

After a horrifying experience on 2/22 at Joncen Phi, (See my 1 star review) I stumbled on this salon while googling salons in my area specializing in vivid colors. My sister and I took a chance and booked appointments. And we have NO REGRETS! This place is amazing! Let me count the ways! 1. A long conversation with me BEFORE my appointment, patiently listening to my worries and concerns. 2. She asked me to text her pictures BEFORE my appointment. We walked in there with them knowing what we wanted. 3. My sister and I are both women "of a certain age" and we both wanted something a little youthful and funky. We were greated by three beautiful, young, hip tattooed women who were in no way superior or intimidating. Quite the opposite. They were encouraging, supportive and uplifting. 4. They worked with limitations, (my sister's previous color and my refusal to bleach my hair.) Explained what was actually achievable and allowed us to make our final EDUCATED decision without pressure. 5. Once our decisions were made, they gave us EXACTLY what they promised. And the results were beautiful and we were elated! A big THANK YOU to Jamie and Jordan (I hope I spelled your names correctly, ladies). You are both everything a stylist should be! He will tell you honestly if he believes what is on your wish list is realistic. Ryan's has extensive work with color and extensions and I am frequently complemented for the hairstyle he gives me. Where do I even start. From the beginning to the end, my experience at this salon was a complete disaster. My stylist was Ryan and he DID HORRIBLY! To start, while combing my hair I asked him to be a little more gentle as he was digging the comb into my scalp to the point that it was painful, red, and very irritated. How do I know it was red and irritated? Well, he asked me if I had a scalp treatment due to all the irritation he found after combing it. I am surprised the comb didnt break! I came in for a bob and even brought an example of what I was looking for (long in the front and short in the back). He cut the front super short to start and when I asked about the length he said dont worry that he would make the back even shorter. A completely different look than what I wanted. On top of it all none of the hair that was cut is even the same length and when I left I still had a head full of shampoo and conditioner! What should have been a simple visit turned out to be a nightmare I now have to take to another salon to fix. At the end of the day I would not recommend this salon, it would be better to just cut your own hair. read more

I have been seeing Kayla for years. She always listens well and does my hair exactly how I want it each time. The pricing is very reasonable and the products used are great quality. I treated Nettie Cotton, so called Stylist with upmost respect, even while she was rude and had an attitude towards me for NO reason!... example barely speaking to me... not even hello, how you doing.. your normal customer greeting... she also had me wait and get out her chair to work on a male customer she was flirting with, and trying to offer him a job! Therefore, servicing someone else hair care needs during my scheduled appointment time... she forgot to dye my closure, leaving all black around my face, in spite me I asking her to frame my face with highlights. Nettie didn't know how to attach a lace closure, even though I asked her in advance if she did lace closures and she responded yes... then she sowed all the highlights in the back of my head!... Nettie then had the nerve to tell me "I cannot complete your style and curl your hair as I would normally do, because I have another client come in"...I actually scheduled my appointment 3 weeks in advance, because I going out of town for my birthday...However, Nettie still asked for full payment for services NOT rendered! I got a good look in my car mirror at my hair, and I realized my closure wasn't even attached it lifting up from my hairline, I immediately went back in and confronted Nettie and she said she could glue and $100 lace closure! No Way!.. when she was finally done after trying to have me wait until she finished yet another client hair before attending to fix my closure, I asked her if she had sown all my 3 bundles 16", 20", & 22" of hair I purchase in?! Nettie reply yes!...The next day I realized that I was missing the entire 20" bundle of hair! Nettie did NOT sew in ($181 retail price I paid)... I went to another hair stylist and she verified I only had an 16" & 22" therefore making my hair look extremely thin! I immediately texted Nettie demanding she returned my hair or refund me the amount I purchased it for! That was on July 21st Nettie, I still have not got response from her! Therefore, either Nettie produces my hair bundle or $200 for my time. If not I will have no other choice but to file Theft Charges against Nettie and the Salon!!! She identifies yourself as being black woman only dating black men, because she said she was raised in the ghetto. Nettie told me that she doesn't like "White People" and therefore charge them higher prices, because her mother threw her out as a teenager, and only the blacks took her in," "Because black peoples not like white people, they stand behind they children in jail, but white people walk away and disown they kids".... I feel like my only option left is bring the police to Color Therapy salon in order to get my property Nettie STOLE from me!... that is so unprofessional!... down right criminal activities! read more
