Better Than New Kitchens - Refaced kitchen with gray stained maple doors in custom shaker style

Better Than New Kitchens

(60 reviews)

Such a great experience, and I keep staring at my new kitchen with wonder…read more When we bought our house 7 years ago, I did not love the kitchen. It was serviceable, but the honey oak builder-standard did not go well with the grey floors. Oh well, we made it work. After 7 years in the house, the finish was wearing, and some of the drawers wouldn't stay closed; we could finally say it was time to make the kitchen ours. I got quotes from several contractors and ended up going with Dan from Better than New Kitchens for several reasons: 1. He spent TIME with me to understand what I wanted; he also wasn't afraid to make recommendations to change what I initially thought in the interest of budget and what would actually work for my needs. 2. The quote was detailed. It included all the special features that we discussed, including separate pricing for some options I wasn't sure would fit the budget but wanted to consider. In quotes from other vendors, I couldn't tell if they had actually had listened to me and they did not include all of the features and options discussed. I work in requirements myself (software) and having all of it spelled out was very important to me so for sure I knew what I was paying for. 3. Dan's passion. This guy loves his work, and you can tell. All of that came to fruition in the build. Super efficient, professional team, and my kitchen is beautiful. No surprises! We didn't just refinish the existing kitchen; we also extended the kitchen against the back of our dining area wall. This gave me an amazing appliance garage, a mixer stand that pops up from a cabinet, and way, way more storage space. Highly recommend Dan and his team.

We just finished refacing a large kitchen with 39 year old oak cabinets …read more We found Better than new Kitchens just by internet shopping and posted reviews . When possible I like to support small independent local businesses and made the call for an estimate . Dan the owner spent a lot of time at our in home visit to review the scope , made great suggestions on 2 new pots and pan drawers and assured us we would not know they were refaced but would look like new cabinets . We chose a beautiful Maple wood with new drawers on amazing soft close silent hardware . The work crew was professional , skilled craftsmen that figured out every little corner and angle to perfection . I am amazed at the quality of work . The transformation is stunning . My adult daughter just saw the new kitchen today for the first time and was so impressed she thought it was all new boxes from the ground up ! We recommend better than new Kitchens 100 % for refacing .They are an honest local company that delivers on their project promise.

I have a home with a Kitchen and Bathrooms all with J&K Cabinetry and love them!…read more As someone mentioned J&K does not sell direct! They will help you with design and creative and put you in touch with a preferred vendor. The Value, Versatility and accessories that J&K offers is superior to anyone else out there in the Import Ready To Install Business. Their product is ready to install not Ready to Assemble and can not be compared to any Ready To Assemble cabinets by any MFG! They are Superior to any of them! period! They are more closely compared to Semi Custom cabinets as far as Sizes and accessories. No other company offers what J&K does in this department! And the Value simply can not be beat! My Kitchen was done 4 years ago and the cabinets have had zero issues so when it came time to do the bathrooms the choice was easy! Do yourself a favor, save time and money and take a good look at J&K for your Kitchen and Bath Needs!

In 2017 we had our bathroom remodeled. Our contractor used J&K cabinetry for our vanity drawers…read moreand cabinets. The S1 java brown color matched perfectly with our travertine flooring. We haven't encountered any issues with the quality of the cabinets or the rails. Over the years, being a dark tone, the color has worn away in spots. I called to confirm that a touch up kit in Java was available to buy and drove to the Phoenix/Tempe location. I saw the new signage and was informed that this business has been renamed "New Cabinet Company." They will carry J&K products as well as New Cabinet items. Customer service was frank and blunt. I paid my $20 and left for the door.

In the last 24 months I've needed to hire a building contractor twice. This last time was…read moreespecially stressful because it came after a leak with mold remediation. After hiring a contractor for that (remediation) and having a third party independent testing company test, to be sure the mold was gone, I was ready to rebuild. I interviewed 3 contractors, (one recommended by the remediation company and 2 others I found on my own). To be honest this whole process is not fun, in short, it's homeowners hell. Quentin and Urban Elements stood out above the other 2 contractors for the following reasons: Quick and professional response. He answered all my questions, when I asked about something he had missed (my wall was down to the wall studs and covered in plastic so it was hard to see), he took another look and had an answer within 24 hours. One of the contractors I did NOT hire didn't even know his ROC#, and took days just to let me know his company's license number. In addition the communication was great and Quentin was always available by text and responded quickly. When I did sign with Urban Elements the contract was clear: timeline, payment schedule and completion. They adhered to everything in writing. (Contrast that to a contractor who wanted me to agree to abide by the laws of Texas, when I live in Arizona.) Additionally Quentin assured me that every subcontractor who worked on my house would be licensed. There were several subcontractors and everyone who came, was a true pro, they showed up on time, were respectful and did a great job. I honestly hope I never have to rebuild a room again but Quentin made a truly stressful experience 100% better and I feel fortunate to have found him. Lastly his bids were competitive with the other 2 bids I received.

If you are reading my review you have found your next contractor!…read more My family and I were dealing with the stress of moving from California to Arizona and we were scrambling to find a contractor to remodel the new home in under 5 weeks. What i found during this process was price gauging from so many other contractors until i found Quentin from Urban Element. Quentin gave me confidence that he could do the job in under 5 weeks and on budget. Quentin communicated with me weekly and gave me progress reports/photos and never once asked for more money then what we had originally agreed on. The finish product far exceeded what I could imagine. Quentin and his crew takes pride in their craftsmanship. I would 100% recommend Quentin to anyone looking for a home remodel. Quentin if you are reading this, you still owe me a proposal to build out my home office ;-)
