I'm in from out of town and wanted a sushi place. Staff was so nice and helpful. Food was delicious. Recommend this place and it will be a regular for me when I'm in town.

Martian roll, iowa star roll, spicy yellowtail, tom yum soup, beef kimchi fried rice, pad woon sen

The food was wonderful! Everything was super flavorful. We got the iowa star and the Martian roll as well as the kimchi fried rice and pad woon sen. I love spicy food and level 3 spice level was perfect. The server was also very nice and accommodating!

Fawn's Asian Cuisine - Pad Thai

Fawn's Asian Cuisine

Last night we had one of the best Asian meals we've had in a long time. Fawn's has been on my list…read moreof places to try for many years but for some reason we had never tried it. We try one new restaurant each month just to keep things fresh, so this time I suggested Fawn's. I'm really glad we did. I had heard so many great things about the food so I was excited to try it. When I saw the menu, though, I was a little nervous because they serve Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Laotian food. In my experience, restaurants that try to serve all kinds of Asian food rarely do one or all of them well. I ordered Pad Thai and my husband got Evil Jungle Prince. I was very pleased. It was the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten. It was SO good! My husband loved his dish, too. It had chicken and vegetables with a spicy sauce made with red curry and coconut milk. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. We each got two meals out of our dinners. I love it when that happens. The place isn't fancy. It's in a small strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside it's very clean and well-kept. There's not much for ambience besides two flat screen TVs. It doesn't matter because it's the food that really stands out. The service was excellent, too. My husband had his iced tea refilled twice without even asking. Great affordable food and good service. What more can you ask for? If you love Asian food, give them a try. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

The only minor heartbreak is that I wish they opened a bit earlier 10:00 AM would be ideal but it is well worth the wait until they open their doors. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless. I was whisked away to a lovely table within minutes, and my waitress was a total gem. she walked me through their signature offerings, like the Pad Thai and the Lo Mein, with such grace. I have to give a full 10/10 for both the service and the stunning decor; the atmosphere is truly sophisticated. Since I've been on a bit of a Pad Thai kick lately, I opted for the Lo Mein this time, and it was a triumph! It arrived perfectly timed exactly 16 minutes after ordering and was overflowing with high-quality shrimp, beef, and more. The portions are incredibly generous (they even mentioned how easy it is to take the rest home!), which I find so practical and chic. I am officially obsessed and will most certainly be a regular here!

Staff was friendly as is usual with most of the Wasabi locations. I feel like a recognized a couple people from Wasabi Chi. We were greeted right away as we walked in. I went with a friend and my daughter, We ordered a few rolls, drinks, and dumplings. Everything was good as far as the food and the service, but I felt out of place as I found myself reminiscing about the businesses Wasabi Urbandale has taken the place of... The many meals I'd had at the horseshoe bar in Irina's...which is now gone. The special moments shared with friends at Wasabi Chi in my past. I got the feeling of being in any other Wasabi here. It's almost a cookie cutter of Ankeny, Johnston, Waukee... Not that there is anything wrong with that. Wasabi offers consistently good food and service at all it's locations. I just found myself missing an emotional connection that I wanted to feel this time.

I also dine-in occasionally and I love their cocktails and neon lights... especially during happy hour! Although the restaurant is never busy, this is not an indicator of the quality of food or drinks served. I think it's just in a bad location. More people should try this hidden gem of a place. The sushi is top-grade and it's a perfect place for a date night! (... with the most beautiful sunsets.)

The spicy edamame had a little kick but nothing too crazy. The sushi was very fresh and everything we ordered was really good. The waiter seemed to be new bc he seemed nervous but the overall service was pleasant. The vibe was chill, the temperature was perfect on a sub-zero freezing day, and the lights were the right 'dim' amount. I recommend this restaurant and I definitely will be eating there again.

A lady swung around from the bar and said "oh I didn't see you." Turns out she was the hostess. Food was ok, a bit pricey in my option. We ordered very basic rolls California and shrimp tempura rolls those were $6 and $9. I was with my teen daughter and she only like California rolls. So it was fine. I've had better sushi ironically in Ankeny. For a quick bite this was fine- but I wasn't overwhelmed by it. Service was ok. Food came out fast but was well paced with the appetizer we ordered first. However our server wasn't overly friendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there at all.
