They have by far the WORST customer services I have ever dealt with, and the WORST return policy. Beware, it is only 14 days, for both in-store and online purchases. If you miss that deadline, they give you a giftcard, they will not give you your money back. So I love the clothing here but that has nothing to do with this review. I was here recently and was in the dressing room trying on clothes. I tried on something a little small and in the process ripped off my earring when I was taking it off. Anyway, upon getting on the train I realized it was missing. When I called the girl on the phone was incredibly helpful and found it within a minute. Easily she could have lied and pawned it since it was a diamond earring. I love this place. I've always dreamed of having a one-stop shop that is my perfect mix of downtown trendy and uptown polish, and aritizia is it. The salespeople are some of the best I've ever encountered - so helpful and friendly. It feels like you have your own personal shoppers waiting on you. I don't mind the lack of individual mirrors at all. It encourages interaction between both the customers and salespeople. A few of the items I've purchased are because i saw someone trying them on! i am completely obsessed with aritzia. good prices, GREAT design. my only complaint is the quality: i have a pair of pants that had a seam rip within a week of purchase. they were so kind about replacing them, but the new pair had the same rip happen almost as quickly!! oh well. maybe i'm just fat! i will give aritzia the benefit of the doubt. read more

I am a very petite 5 foot 100 pound woman . Before Aritzia it was a real challenge to find shirts and sweaters . All that has changed and I now shop at this particular SOHO store several times per week . The staff here is beyond friendly and knows my style as we have cultivated a relationship . This is the best Aritzia location due to the inventory they carry , in relation to flatiron for example which is more corporate and really likes to rush you . read more

I don't know about other locations but the one in Roosevelt Field is terrible. Their merchandise is way way overpriced. And they really won't let you return anything. Unbelievable how tough they make it. Spend wisely. Spend your money in other stores. Their stuff really isn't so special. Zara and Nordstom certainly have better stuff for better prices. Wow, what a downturn. I went back here at the end of summer and the salesgirls were soooo annoying. Stop bothering me, I am shopping! Ok, I get it you are on commission, but they are like flies. I much prefer the aloofness of Bergdorf Goodman sales people. I don't want to have a conversation with the salesgirls, just get me my size, WHEN I ASK, otherwise you are being intrusive. There are also NO MIRRORS in the dressing rooms, rather you must exit the room and parade in front of all the damn salesgirl who will hit you with another barrage of annoying questions. There is positively no privacy or retail therapy available in this place. The stuff is cute, but after my first "catwalk" out of my dressing room and subsequent interrogation by the salesgirls, I quickly abandoned the rest of the items in the dressing room and got the heck out of there. read more

It really was as good as it gets. Lovely store, excellent clothes, decent prices, awesome music (please Aritzia SoHo, tell me who made that pulsating, deep-voiced trance-y dance music)... and best of all, a diamond in the rough in terms of service. Jess helped me and it was the best customer service of my life. I spent $200 and had a better experience that when I've purchased $1,200 shoes at Neimans. It was truly amazing. I admit for a second I was like 'wait, no mirror in the fitting room?' but i felt like I was looked upon kindly when I stepped out to use the communal mirror, and I certainly never felt judged or pushed, only helped. In a city full of crap service and snarly bitchy faces (seriously NYC, it's going to get stuck like that), this was a haven of great clothes, fun shopping, and sweet as pie service. I will NEVER shop here again. I bought something, it needed steaming to wear that night, I came back an hour later, it wasn't steamed. I couldn't wear it so returned it. They "lost" my credit card info, sent me a store credit to my home address (a couple of hundred miles away). It has taken me ONE HOUR on hold (30 minutes before I gave up and called back) and with customer service to straighten it out. read more

Only negative is the dressing rooms are super tiny, at least the ones downstairs. I also noticed that you cannot return sale items so be sure you love it before purchasing. Their online shipping is not secure. I moved and updated my shipping address, then placed an order to my new address. Although the address updated on their website, it didn't in their system. Aritzia has absolutely beautiful clothing. I wanted to buy most of the pieces I tried on, which is rare to find. I had an issue with the store itself. first complaint- there was no mirror in the dressing room. It's very uncomfortable to step out of the dressing room to see myself in the mirror and have everyone look at me. Also it made the helpful sales person seem aggressive. She was nice and brought me a few pretty shirts but it felt too pushy when I had to go out of my dressing room every time I wanted to look at something. Kinda made me feel like i had to buy something for wasting her time. Ended up buying some beautiful trousers that I later figured out were to short on me so I returned them. thankfully I bought them full price so I was able to return (within 15 days). Sale items are final sale which is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. The clothes here are beautiful. I would love to be a regular if there were mirrors in the dressing rooms and there was a better return policy. Seriously you need to be able to return sale items, it's ridiculous. I want to love this place. read more

I was in town for a few days and there were two dresses I had been looking at on Aritzia's website. I hadn't been in one of their stores before, and wanted to see these items in person before I bought them. I was barely holding two items in my hands before a saleswoman asked me if I wanted a fitting room. Since I wanted to get in and out quickly I didn't mind this at first. I tried them on, and as many other people have commented, it's super awkward that you have to leave your fitting room to use a communal mirror. Luckily I didn't have anyone "comment" the two things I tried on as others have mentioned, but there were so many people standing around watching, which was pretty weird! So I left the fitting room feeling pretty good about getting two pieces, and the same sales woman pounced on my again asking me if she could put those pieces up front for me. I told her I was thinking about it and was just going to look around for a bit more. She then proceeded to follow me around the store and asked me two more times if she could put them up front for me. I kept thinking "Does she think I'm going to steal these?!!" It was so rude and obnoxious. I used to work in retail and we NEVER tailed people like this! I also wanted to talk to my husband about buying them and get his opinion, as not everyone can drop $300 without flinching! He was patiently waiting for me despite the loud music and busy atmosphere - he had tried to be out of the way and found a quiet area to sit and read that was tucked under the stairs. When he first sat down there, there was no one around. (He later told me that at one point a sales person saw him, was surprised he was there, but told him it was fine to keep sitting there and it was okay. ) When I went to get him and show him the dresses, the saleswoman followed me and said "What are you doing?" and gave me so much attitude I really didn't know what I had done to irritate her so much! She then said to move and that we could talk on the couch by the fitting room a midst about 20 other people also standing there. At that point we decided to leave- But I didn't want her to ruin my experience! Plus I really wanted one of those dresses. So I waited 15 minutes and went back in and went to get my size on the rack. Then she bombarded me once again and immediately started going through the hangers of dresses that I was trying to. When I found my size she took it from my hand and walked it up to the register. It kills me to this she might have made a commission on this sale. I'm kind of kicking myself for not standing up to her more. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had similar experiences with the sales staff. Too bad about all that, while I do like the dress I got, just wish they could afford to teach employees some respect. read more

I love their clothes but honestly I'm afraid to go in knowing I'm going to be bombarded by sales reps who stalk you in the dressing room as you're trying on clothes. The mirrors are communal meaning that the reps will linger and wait for you to come out... Then attack! I like to shop in peace. read more

Oh man. Dig the clothes, hatehateHATE the dressing rooms. Communal mirrors are the worst - no privacy, such a stressful experience overall. To make matters worse, there is not much room to even share the "big" mirror, so you have to stand around waiting for people to finish looking at themselves, and then when it's your turn, feel rushed and self-conscious about the other people who are waiting, and inevitably watching you. And being hounded by the staff is the sour cherry on top. I can only image how much business this setup deters. A simple addition of mirrors in the rooms would encourage me to try much more stuff on, thus resulting in more sales for the store. Not only was their price hugely inflated, they also have a horrendous return policy. Any sale items, even if they lowered the price by $1, instantly becomes non-refundable. And the online return policy wasn't clear at all. Avoid at all costs. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience EVER in my life. The sales associate was EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! She only cares about you when you made a purchase, but after that, she ignores you and say shit about you. Although I love the clothes, but I will NEVER return to this location. I love the selection of clothes they have at this location. However, I wouldn't want to go back there because of the poor customer service I received. While I was in the dressing room, I asked one of the girls to get a different size of the same shorts for me. She came back with the wrong size and completely different style and rushed off before I could say anything. Later I decided to buy one of the shorts I tried on and after I paid for it I found out there is a hole on the shorts. When I went to return, the cashier wasn't happy about it at all. I didn't get her name. She had dark curly hair about shoulder length and curly bangs. She snapped at me for returning something that was supposed to be final sales. Her attitude was very bad and she seemed annoyed that she had to process the return for me (what she was paid to do!) and was not apologetic about the poor quality of the shorts at all. In conclusion, the clothes look great although by a bit over priced. The people who work there are among the worst I've ever encountered. I don't think I would go back because of the bad experience I had. read more

Eh. I was drawn in by the way the store was merchandized, which says a lot. I loved the way this Aritzia is laid out, and the sales people who helped me were nice and not pushy. The prices are generally very high, but the quality of the clothing here is quite nice. However, I HATED how there was no mirror in my dressing room! If I'm going to spend $200 on a dress I want to be really sure I like it. The 10 seconds I gave myself to check out how things fit on me (so as not to look like an asshole) just wasn't enough to judge whether or not I wanted to buy anything. Also, there were two women staring at themselves in the communal mirror the entire time I was there trying on clothes. I tried on 4 different things, and each time I came out these two women had on the same shirts they were trying on when I first came in, and the sales associates were doing nothing to encourage them to move their rear ends and let other costumers use the mirror. I left frustrated and empty handed. For the most part, I don't think the clothes are different enough or high quality enough to justify the price, and the dressing room experience really did this place in for me. Whenever I go into an Aritzia, I know that the salespeople are going to be extra attentive. It's a part of the store's "brand", so to speak. So I'm not mad about it. I just politely decline (many times) if needed, and they smile, say 'no problem', and then leave me be. But this location, in particular, seems very off brand to me. The salespeople are all very cold and dismissive. I was so caught off-guard when I came here for the first time today, because the vibe is SO different than the Aritzia that I usually go to on 16th & 5th. Over there, the girls are lovely, attentive (maybe too much), but always looking out to see who needs help or to explain the merchandise. At THIS location, however, it's very snooty and snobby. No one even makes eye contact to see if they can help you. I came into the store, looking to exchange a skirt that I bought for one in a bigger size. But after walking around for like 10 minutes, not able to find the skirt, and with no customer service, I decided to just return the skirt and leave. I'll go back to my preferred Aritzia location instead and purchase the skirt again in the right size. read more

I've been shopping at Aritzia since it launched in Ontario years ago. I have pieces that I bought 7 plus years ago, and it's still in perfect condition. Yes, some of their merchandise can be pricy. However, the quality speaks for itself. I happen to love customer service at Aritzia. When I first moved to NY, I was annoyed at the lack of customer service. The only other store in NYC that excels at customer service is Crate & Barrel. I'm just thrilled I no longer have to fly to Canada to do some retail therapy at my favourite shop. In July, I walked into the store & was ridiculously happy with the summer sale. I purchased 6 tanks originally $40.00 for $15.00 each. It's a really great store over-all! read more

I came in looking to try on two specific coats that I've seen on the website. I didn't want to purchase the coat without trying it on first seeing as how most of the coats cost over $300. I went into the store and found the two coats I was looking for when a sales associate came up to me and offered to hang my coats up by the fitting rooms so I don't have to hold it while I browsed. She also made a suggestion based on what I was looking for and when I first saw her suggestion I didn't even think twice about it but I decided to try it on anyways. The fitting rooms are quite different from other fitting rooms seeing as how there are no mirrors in the room itself. You have to step outside to use a huge mirror with everyone else looking at you. In the end I decided to go with the coat that the sales associate recommended and I'm really glad I decided to try it on. They have a good selection of pretty unique pieces and they have a second floor which I didn't get to browse. All the sales associates were very friendly and helpful. I've never written a review before, but felt like I needed to after my experience this afternoon. From the second I walked in the store I was bombarded by greetings by four different employees, which was a bit overwhelming but not a big deal. As I continued shopping, every time I picked up an item this one sales girl would take it out of my hand and place it in the dressing room. At one point I was on a phone call, with a shirt in my hand and the same employee who had been following me around, interrupted my call by waving her hand in front of me and asking if I'd like her to take the shirt to the dressing room. When I told her "no I'm on a phone call" she finally walked away. After I hung up the phone, she popped up again and apologized for interrupting my call. After I tried on my clothes and was going to purchase a top, she proceeded to follow me to the register. As I was paying for my clothes, she was still asking me if I'd like anything else! I've never had such an overbearing, overwhelming shopping experience before. I will not go back. read more
