I see Reformation getting a lot of bad Yelp reviews for its pricey-ness , but you can see that online (??). I think the clothes are very flattering and made better than cheaper clothes. This is a splurge place for me. Anyways...Cherise helped me today and was very nice & super helpful with a return. I got frustrated about something and she stayed super nice and I think that is awesome. I used to work retail & it can be a real demoralizing job sometimes. So Cherish=amazing! This store has an organized and color-coded layout, with vintage pieces that inspired me. I asked an associate for a dressing room, and she didn't greet or speak to me while leading the way. She was not tending to any other customers that I could see. Upon checkout, with a warning tone, she said there is to be no return of vintage clothing, but I was well aware of this rule thanks to the clear sign. Based on the other reviews, I see that a running issue with customers feeling appreciated, which resonated with me. I humbly suggest that they take away the tween sayings that seem to infantilize their market, such as signs that say "look cute!" or "you did good" printed on the receipts. It's easy to cultivate a sophisticated clientele that treats associates respectfully (such as not trying to return wantonly or perhaps badmouthing the store) when the store first treats their clients with warmth and respect. As a person who has worked in client relations, this is the first rule for being a leader in any industry. read more

I decided to splurge and paid $218.00 for an emerald jumpsuit. Upon taking it out of the bag two days later, I noticed three different places where the stitching was coming undone. I toke pictures of the frayed stitching and when I called the store, I was met with an unapologetic sales person who said that I wouldn't be able to return the item even though I had the receipt and the tags attached. I was also told I had 14 days to return the jumpsuit when I purchased it. This is completely unacceptable and I am so disappointed with this store. I highly urge customers to be weary of the quality of the clothes and how considerate the staff is. I will never purchase anything from them again. read more

Sometimes it's good to splurge on a nice dress and what better place to do so than REFORMATION. My good friend and fashionista has been shopping here for many years and she's brought me here quite a few times. I always found the clothes to be very very chic but made for tall fit women. Finally I recently went in during fashion week and stumbled upon a sexy black dress. The fit was perfect. For $220 I got what I think is a very well made, custom, unique black dress. I get a lot of compliments on it and I feel special that it's not just from a huge chain store. They lay out in very nice, there is a lot to see. The dressing rooms are clean and spacious with a giant acurate mirror. Reformation is my new favorite. Unfortunately the sizes for larger girls is only a M/L maximum, there is nothing larger. But there are small sizes and XS. It opens at 12 noon on the dot no acceptions even if there is someone inside and this is not posted on the store anywhere. They carry lots of jumpers, silky things, very cute modern clothing. They used to take old fabrics and make clothing out of them, they still do, but now they use other fabrics available on the market. Still are all hand made and tailoring is available. There are also purses and accessories available. Still love the Los Angeles location more. read more

I would paid money to be able to give these store employees negative ratings. This was by FAR the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced and the girls in this store location make the DMV seem like an all expenses paid vacation. Shout out to the blonde store manager... for being one of the most condescending humans I have ever met. I honestly can't think of a better way to hurt a brand's image & bottom line, than by hiring her. There's no question the clothes are beautiful but it's limited who can fit into this line. Thankfully the dress I ended up buying is A line over the hips or else I wouldn't have been able to fit into the only two sizes they had (for almost every item): XS and S. Here's the other thing: I don't know whether or not the staff just want to leave you alone or actually can't be bothered with you. One sales girl was nice, not overly in your face, but she was the only person to initiate any conversation in two visits to the store. The staff did seem selective in who they talked to (well dressed, beautiful, messy chic). Maybe next time I need to dress up more to buy my $200 dress? Solution: avoid the store altogether and shop online, it looks like the website carries more sizing and shipping is free. read more

Great selection of unique pieces. A new favorite. The selection is solid and the sales girls were very friendly and helpful also. I don't have time to shop often so when I do, it's a big process. They didn't care. "Everything is amazing, just keep trying stuff on!" So, I assembled a mega pile of maybes and they left me alone to decide and take too long, unless I asked for help. I love Reformation and the whole concept behind it (sustainable clothing, greener living, clothes that don't kill). The prices can be quite steep, but nothing less shocking than other brands with the same "It" factor in Manhattan. Reformation is, after all, the sartorial choice of tween idols Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss (but I assure you that I am not...). The cheaper end dresses cost $78-$98, while most others run for slightly less than $200. The fancier wedding gown type dresses go up to $350+. I went in to the store on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find that the service was pretty good. The girls working there were quite friendly and helpful, and they were willing to take down my contact details for a dress that I was looking for that wasn't available in store. The store itself doesn't have as much choice as the online store does, but it's always good to try stuff on so you can have a peace of mind while buying. They were also really helpful in getting me more sizes for the dresses I tried on. The sizes of Reformation dresses are not always consistent. I tried on the Sandy dress in an L and it fit me fine, while I tried on a looser fitting one in an S that was still super baggy on me. So just be mindful of that. I also loved the decor and look of the place: industrial without being sparse. Just my kind of store! Will be back to try on more beautiful pieces next time. read more

Reformation is always better in theory than actuality. Sexy, feminine, often vintage-feeling dresses and separates in largely cheap-feeling fabrics. Sizing runs quite small and pieces tend to work best on a modelesque physique - tall, slim, small-waisted and small-busted. Customer service in boutique is generally friendly and helpful, shame the clothing doesn't warrant the price. read more

The brand has been getting so much attention lately via CFDA competitions, and just the cool and chic clothes they carry. But every time I go in there, no one says hello to me. Look I love to shop, and when I walk into a boutique with these sorts of prices I expect excellent service. I had to ask two people to see if they had my size, and the salesgirls just looked at each blankly. Finally one got up, went to the back, handed me the dress I liked and went straight back to the counter to talk to her colleague. I've worked retail, and this is no-no. You generally ask the customer if there is anything that she needs, and that you will be back to see if she needs another size. The dress was beautiful, but I didn't want to drop $450 when the salespeople were poorly trained, and didn't seem interested in my business. I'm giving it 3 stars because the mission of the brand is great, and the clothes really are amazing. So structured, and easy at the same time. Very hard combo to achieve. read more

I would like to own everything in this store. First came across Reformation a few years back. I saw a celeb wearing a pretty floral 70s-style dress with a high slit, wanted it immediately but couldn't source it. Fast forward one year, and I had my brand: Reformation. The shop is pricey, don't get me wrong, but the ethos is good. Reformation re-uses run-off fabrics (I believe), and the silhouettes are super feminine, often 1970s style, and always glam. Side note: if I were planning a wedding, I'd be looking there for my bridesmaids. Many of the dresses are a crepe-like fabric so slip off the figure easily. I actually had decent customer service in-store: I was interested in one of the bridesmaid dresses (but not for a wedding) last spring and the sales people gave me a discount code to purchase online. The brand launched a lower price point line recently - options are more basic than the main line, but still an impressive direction. Definitely recommend. read more

I recently visited the LES store and was very disappointed. As a requent shopper of this brand I have nothing but amazing things to say about the clothing. My recent experience with the staff members is a shame. They came across as entitled. When I asked for a smaller size, the girl looked at me like she wasn't there to help people. I stood waiting for direction until she finally took action, which part of it was telling me where I could re-hang the incorrect size FOR HER. All she did was take away time I could have been shopping more.... This same sales person also did not circle back when they did not carry my size. She ignored the entire situation. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS STORE! The manager was only slightly more helpful. Hate to say it but in all this was upsetting and did not make me want to want to go back or represent the brand. read more

This place is getting pretty meh. Consistent if sparse, it really does grind out one of a kind pieces, but they are kind of getting boring. Not particularly flashy or ostentatious, or even that expensive for the design, it 'almost' delivers curated fashion for the price of midtown sample sale gleanings. Almost on both accounts. So I went back to Reformation , this time for some cozy cashmere sweaters. The staff is AMAZING. Super helpful, not at all pushy ( the clothes sell themselves) and helped me choose two awesome sweaters for the brutal winter. They remembered me from the Spring, ( I can't walk in there as much as I'd like because I can't leave without spending a small fortune) and the selection is out of control and there's something for everyone.
