This is my favorite Aritzia location in Manhattan. It's a little less hectic and chaotic than other locations. I'm also a big fan of the layout and lighting at this specific location. The staff at the store is incredibly helpful and also provide helpful tips and style suggestions. The staff are very attentive. They also tend to sometimes keep inventory in the back if you prefer to purchase something fresh that hasn't been tried on by tons of people. I wish they had more sales but when they do, the stores tend to get more crazy and the staff seems a bit more stressed out. It's also hard to find sizes then. But the savings, prices and deals are usually worth it. This Aritzia location has big spacious fitting rooms but one word of caution - most don't have mirrors so you have to step out after trying and use the big communal mirrors. They're still in the fitting room area but not in your individual fitting room. Depends on your own comfort level. The stylists can give you advice once you're out so that's a pro. All in all, I love this store and their chic, stylish, polished and minimalistic styles! If you're close to Central Park or midtown east, definitely stop by for some great styles! read more

I love Aritzia clothing and have slowly filled my closet with their clothing. I love the coordinating colors that make matching easy and fun. Last night around 8 pm, I came to this location bc I read it was their flagship store and was excited to shop around the giant selection. During the 1 hour I was there, NOT one single person offered to help me, let alone greet me. They were all busy cleaning up, putting things back in the wrong places so they can be out by 9 pm. You would think that staff would be trained to do better especially at these popular locations. If it weren't for not having to pay taxes on top of the sale prices right now, I wouldn't have bothered. I don't think my review will affect their business but I'm hoping someone in charge will see this and give better training. I've been to so many Aritzia stores and most have of them are so much better. You could learn from some San Diego locations also. read more

This store is amazing, the workers are so genuine, and the layout of this particular Aritzia is so comfortable. I basically come here at least once - twice a month because these clothes just fit me so well and look so effortlessly chic. It definitely airs on the pricier side in terms of clothing, but you do pay for what you get. Most of their brands are high quality and the materials are usually top notch, usually blends of merino wool or silk, to name a few. Aritzia is really good for petite people because they usually offer XXS sizes and up. I'm 5'1" and weight 102 pounds and I have a really really hard time looking for work clothes, but Aritzia makes it easy for me. A lot of the stuff I buy are usually from their Wilfred, Wilfred Free, Babaton, and Sunday Best brands I can't resist their styles. I will say, Wilfred Free, as it's more casual clothing feels very soft and comfy, but the quality is not on par as Wilfred. I've bought a tight, V-neck dress and it developed a small hole right at the point of the V after 2 wears. I also have a white turtleneck from there that had a hole on the side of the sweater, and after I exchanged the sweater in and received a new one, that one also had a hole in the armpit area. I was too annoyed to go back again and just sewed it up myself. Other than that, I own so many clothes that are appropriate for both work and going out from these brands that are so wonderful. They tend to have a lot of sales as well so definitely take advantage. Any of their sale items are final sale and you can't return them so make sure to try those on in stores. Any full price item you can purchase online/in store and be able to return within 2 weeks. I go to this store so much that one of the girls who work there remembers me, but she's super friendly and awesome and always gives me her genuine opinion on the clothes I try on. read more

Nice design, quality varies greatly depends on brand, the bad ones fall apart after just one wash, the good ones are absurdly overpriced. Sales are rude, pushy, and so ingenuine to the point that id rather online shop, which then raises to another issue. Their return policy, as many other reviews have pointed out, is HORRENDOUS. I picked out an original priced jacket and the sales was like Im going to give you a 10% off on this $400 jacket, which was a nice to have. They didnt have my size so I had to order it to be shipped. Come to find out few days after the jacket arrived that ALL SALES ITEMS are not returnable and even thought the size i ordered still didnt fit, they can only make an exception to give me store credit. First: their return policy is ridiculous: 14 days to return online purchases, time start ticking once you received the shipping confirmation email which it means by the time you receive the package you only have one week left to make a return. Their return policy is a joke, I bought a coat and there was a discount of 10% in their page, Tried to return the coat and I was told it was final sale prices just because I used a 10% discount? Never seen a final sale price like that. I love this brand a lot, I have been a loyal customer for this brand for years. I bought a dress and tried it at the store, but when I was about to wear the dress turned out look too baggy on me and I returned the dress 2 days later at this store. The girl at the cashier told me that I can't return the dress since I have removed the tag but I can change it to different/smaller size. One minute later she changed her mind, she said I can't return the dress at all since I lost the button on the dress, I insisted that the dress has no button when I bought it but she kept saying it has button and I lost it. I was a bit disappointed and confuse, what should I do with baggy dress that I can't wear. She was rude telling me to sell the dress to someone else. After I left the cashier, I checked the same dress that I have at the store rack and I didn't see any button. So I was right that it has no button. I don't understand why the girl had to lie just to make me to not return the dress. I told the store manager and she finally allowed me to replace it to a smaller size ( and still no refund ) I don't think I'll shop with Aritzia again after a bad treatment I had from their staff. read more

I loved Aritzia ever since I stepped foot in one years ago in Toronto! While in SoHo, I went head over heels for a Babaton lace dress over my budget. Mother convinced me to put it away although it kept screaming at me "Buy me now!" I, the obedient daughter, gave it back to the nice sales girls and walked away. Hours went by and I kept thinking about that dress. So I made a trip to Aritzia on 5th to go get that dress. Aritzia has a sale on right now, it's not great, but it's a sale nonetheless. The dress I went in for is full price. I grabbed the only size 0 I could find and found a flaw in the stitching (it was ripped) and walked over to an Asian lady with short hair. Politely asking her if there were any more size 0s in the store, she responded very irritated saying that it was a popular dress and there wasn't anymore. First, there's at least two of each size on the sales floor AND it's full price. She could've at least checked for me on the computer (she was already on one at the time). Then I was approached by a younger and nicer sales girl who empathized with my ripped stitching and immediately checked the system for me to see if there were anymore size 0s. Unfortunately, that was the last one. She then went to another Asian lady with longer hair who also seemed annoyed, but granted her to offer me a damage discount. I don't think I've ever been scrutinized by my race by my own people. OK, maybe they weren't racist at their own kind, but I really felt discriminated. Did I not look wealthy enough to purchase that dress? Did I not look like I would spend money? It's sad that these women are probably management and are poor models for the rest of the store, but I'm glad that sales girl and that cashier really made my experience a little better. read more

I have been a fan of aritzia for a long time now, and although expensive I have always found something that I loved. This location is downright awful, and changed my opinion of the shop. I wasn't helped by any of the sales people, who were all behind one register chatting. When I went to try on a few items the dressing room lady just stared blankly at me until I asked for a room. She never said one word to me, hanging my clothes in the dressing room. The room was probably 3x3 feet and very dark, not to mention there was NO MIRROR!! I don't even know why stores do this, as it immediately detours me from buying things. I ended up looking at my perspective purchases on my phones forward-facing camera, and didn't buy anything. I love this Aritzia location, which always feels way calmer than the Soho store. I recently had a great experience buying a few cute casual outfits and summer basics with Chelsea, who was super sweet and helpful. In fact, I've been shopping at this Aritzia over lunch breaks for the past two years, and the salespeople are consistently very sweet, helpful and attentive. However, one thing I really hate about this (and all Aritzia stores) is the fact that there are no mirrors in the changeroom. I'm not at a NYC sample sale, so there is no reason for me to be vying for mirror space in a fitting room. I tend to feel rushed and self-conscious when I'm sharing the mirror with a bunch of young ladies and being observed by salespeople (no matter how sweet and helpful), which means I'm ultimately LESS likely to buy stuff. I can't understand how they've maintained this policy for so long, but I do hope they change it. One other gripe about Aritzia generally is that the return policy is a little unforgiving, with super short return windows and final sale on ALL markdowns, even if something is reduced by only $5. That said, I still think the midtown location is a great spot to find fun casual clothes with the help of some very stylish and friendly salespeople. read more

Full disclosure: I have a shopping problem. Because of this known "issue" I certainly wasn't looking to add another store to frequent and overspend in. So when I was walking back from Lord & Taylor on my way to get a cheap blazer from Banana Republic for a work event, and instead walked into Aritzia, I was both devastated and in a state of pure, unadulterated bliss. The store basically has everything I'll need for any occasion and has pieces that are perfect for a single, 31 year old New Yorker who wants to look cute without looking silly, sexy without being slutty and put together without looking boring. I walked out with three pieces: navy blazer ($125), pink camisole with lace ($65) and a sexy-ish sweatshirt type shirt ($35). I would've bought more if I had any money to spend but there are about three dresses there that have my name all over them (about $165 each). It's good to know I'll have something to spend my next paycheck on. Save your pennies (it's reasonable but not cheap by any means), clear off at least an hour (the store is pretty big), and get ready to be wowed by a shopping experience in a city where I didn't think was possible any longer. A co-worker introduced me to Aritzia when we were in Chicago. However, we only had a few minutes in the store - just enough time for me to fall in love but too little for me to try on clothes. When visiting New York, I knew that I just had to check out Aritzia and was excited to learn about this brand new location! I was impressed with Aritzia as soon as I walked through the door. My friend and I were quickly greeted and had a very attentive sales associate helping us the entire time. I only had to hold a garment in my hand for a minute or two until the associate was back by my side to take the item to the fitting room. Though this may sound a tad annoying, she did it well, and I felt very pampered throughout the shopping process. The store is very large - twice as large as the Water Tower location. The first floor was all regular priced items, while the basement was all clearance fall/winter apparel displayed by color, which made shopping so easy. Needless to say, I accumulated quite a few things back in the fitting room. My helpful sales associate even added a couple items to my large stash to try on and made awesome additions. She did a great job of understanding my size and style. Though I liked several items, I truly only fell in love with one fantastic slouchy sweater. Considering the price points - primarily from $50 for tanks and tees to $100 for sweaters and several hundred for outerwear, you shouldn't buy anything from Aritzia that you don't absolutely love. However, my sales associate was so wonderful that I felt badly just buying one item! That's how you know you've had impeccable service! read more

If you've ever shopped for anything online at Urban Outfitters, but have somewhat become sick of shopping there, the next step in your life would be to shop online at Aritzia. Why do I endorse such a place? Mostly because almost every fabric in that store feels like it fell down from heaven, it's all so soft. I bought a fake fur stole from there in the winter and once accidentally fell asleep in it. I know. That's pretty money. But it was just that comfortable. They've recently started selling online and I've only bought one item so far. Why was it great? Well, because they send you a full collapsable shipping bag incase you want to return it (with postage!), and that's just thoughtful as hell. And rare for a business to do. Anyhow, give a gander. The clothes here are beautiful, well-made, and expensive. 5* (Especially if you are petite!) On the downside: The salespeople are nice but, as others have said, come off a bit pushy. This isn't a place where you can go around and do your own thing - the employees here set up your dressing room, and you have to step out into the open to look in a mirror. BUT if you're open to it, you will have lots of help and attention finding sizes, styling outfits, etc. Personally I love to take advantage of this to feel like I'm getting my $$ worth. The lack of mirrors (you're forced to use a communal mirror, conjuring images of sample sale and Filene's Basement chaos but the clothes have much higher price tags! and also, nice salespeople but with zero chill. You literally cannot stand in silence in this store) and the terrible return policy have really turned me off this place. The designs are cute and distinctive, but don't feel particularly better quality than fabrics and stitching from Zara. This one girl who helped me into a fitting room seemed really nice at first. Friendly and helpful. But she got very annoying...followed me around after I told her I would think about buying the shirt. I went upstairs and she was right behind me. She was very pushy about me buying it...and took the shirt saying she'll set it up at the register. I said "I'm not sure yet" she gave me this dirty look and her tone of voice changed. Excellent customer service! Very professional workers. A bit too attentive, though I wasn't bothered thanks to informative Yelp reviews that let me know in advance how pesky the sales associates could be. And just like a girl from around the way that is forced to wear headphones in her ears to avoid the constant cat calls from men who are trying to "holler" on a regular basis, I was able to avoid interacting with the well-meaning associates asking me if I needed help or if I would like for them to start a room for me. Nah I'm good. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and though I have never been to an Aritza store a day in my life (that I can recall), I decided to map the store out in my head via a quick scan. Thank goodness it was relatively empty. The store is very very neat and organized. The displays are nice with dark colors if you like that kind of thing, and they have a variety of casual and work clothing. Also, their items are high quality only! Like remember when jeans were that thick material that lasted a really long time and you could pass them down to your siblings or whoever? Yes like that. Aritzia has beautiful clothing and beautiful stores. Their aesthetic is very unique and pleasing to the eye. I only recently began shopping at the store because before it was out of my price range. I decided that the clothing was worth the price so began to shop at Aritzia. First of all, the quality of the most of the clothing is not worth the price. I have the Tna leggings which have unraveled and pilled after one wear, the Super Puff which is amazing has lost a lost of its "puff" within the moth of me owning it, and a wilfred sweater that sheds and pilled after the first wear. For how highly priced these items are, the quality does not match. I tried to exchange my leggings for a new pai because teh seam began to unravel and the customer service team online told me it was "not a quality issue" and they wouldnt help me. The manager in store told me "Hun you can just cut the thread off" and wouldnt help me further. I was apalled by their horrible customer service, I work in retail and am a fashion major in college and have never seen worse customer service in my life. If a company sells "good quality" highly priced clothing, they should have amazing customer service to match. If customers are willing to pay for the product, they should be treated with the best service and respect. The return policy is also absolutely terrible, if it was a fast fashion store like F21 or H&M, the return and exchange policy would make more sense. But Aritzia is a $$$, "high quality" store so easy returns and exchanges should be required. Commiting to high priced clothing can be hard, so being able to return the product with time to think about the desicison should be allowed along with returning without the price tags attached. Also the whole "sale items are final sale" situation is honestly just sad. Customers obviously want a deal, who doesnt?, but if the sale on the item is only 10%, the customer should still be able to return it. Its not like the customers are shopping the red tag racks at a F21, this is Aritzia, treat the customers with some respect and allow them to return their $500 sale item. Also the return policy should be the same online and in store. It is 2020, easy returns need to be required. Sorry for the long rant, this store just is very disappointing. read more

Aritzia never dissapoints. The clothes are on the quality side, but I will say that they aren't cheap. (That's where the sale section comes in!) This store is two stories, one being the basement where all the sale items are located. It is a very open design where there are comfy chairs for the boyfriends and husbands out there haha. I always come to Aritzia for leggings because they're actually opaque!!! (what? there are leggings that are opaque?!?) They aren't see through unlike most other cheaper brands such as H&M and F21, and at $22, the price isn't bad. The service was spot on as well. The only thing is that you've got to make it look like you're actually gonna buy something. I had a pile of clothes on my arm and one of the sales associates helped me save them for the dressing room until I was ready. The sales associate who checked me out was also very friendly! One problem with this store is that they don't have individual mirrors. Like, they have huge, communual mirrors outside of the tiny rooms, which is bothersome. Other than that, love the store! I always shop here and online, until my last trip to NY we were shopping and trying clothes on, my daughter asked the fitting room clerk to direct her to the bathroom she sent her to Starbucks or Ted Baker!!! Unf...... believable!!! When I asked what was her name, no one was guilty... it was the 5th Avenue and 39 store the really white white blond girl... shame on your store and your personnel to loose such a good customer!
