Trash store with trash employees. No wonder it's empty at 230 on a Saturday. First employee was great, welcomed us and was polite. When we made it back to the men's section three employees were too busy arguing and yelling across the store about who put boot cut pants on the wrong shelf the shift before to acknowledge me and my wife. I waited by the dressing room to try something on and got ignored again. My wife went up to one directly and asked for help and the employee ignored her to her face! I yelled out for some help clearly frustrated by their behavior and my wife being ignored. Finally the one my wife approached let out a big sigh, and came to open the dressing room disgusted we interuppted them. But not before cursing me out loud enough under her breath directly in front of me so I could hear it. This wasn't just awful awful employees, these are awful human that work here. Go shop at one of the million other stores so this place shuts down. read more

I'm a heavier stalky women, wear a size 12-14 jeans, depends on how I'm feeling that day. Trying jeans on or really anything is never fun. It usually makes me feel horrible about myself in all honesty. But the staff here was so supportive. Whenever I came out in a pair of jeans they really made me feel GOOD. I had such a positive experience at this location. The workers helped me find what worked best for me and I am super thankful. I placed an order on Aerie.com at the end of December. I decided which items I was going to return and did so on 1/23. Fast forward to today, and no one at Aerie or Synchrony bank (the issuer of their credit card) can understand why my refund hasn't shown up. Turned out that the American Eagle employee who processed my Aerie return at this store, applied it to another card on my account- one that I hadn't used in 2 years. Synchrony cannot simply apply the correct refund to the correct card. Schmucks all around. I really like the "body positive" message of the brand, but as long as they continue to hire Neanderthal employees with no common sense, I will not shop from this company again. Ok I just had the greatest shopping experience at this store! Lola made me feel so comfortable, I cannot say enough good things about her. I've been struggling to find jeans and shorts that fit and she was super helpful and checked in to see if I needed advice or a different size. I'm going on a big trip and tried on A LOT of clothes - Lola and Mel made sure I felt comfortable and confident while I was trying stuff on and it got me more excited for my trip. I don't know what the guy at the register's name was, but he totally sold me on a credit card and I don't regret it lol. I will definitely be coming back to this store! read more

From the time I walked in, to the time I left, I think i was greeted with a smile and a "welcome" 5 times (ooh, I feel so loved *-*). The store merchandise is always organized and in place and I was actually able to find some clearance aerie items that was sold out online in the store (it was not-so-secretly tucked away in a drawer)! AE clothes are pretty good. Staff is sorta helpful. Downstairs are for guys. Upstairs are for Women. UPDATE: -They are currently CLOSED for renovation and will be opening back again in Aug 2013. PROS: - there are sales sometimes e.g. 40% off - clothing mostly for teens/ young adult - easy returns unlike forever 21 where they will only issue a storecard back. - quality of clothes are pretty good compared to Forever21 and H&M. CONS: - checkout line takes forever. they are kind of slow. I can be kind of impatient as I only have an hr lunch break, so if I shop for 30 minutes and it takes more than 10 minutes to check out I'm irritated as I have to get back before lunch break is over. read more

I usually go to American Eagle because their jeans are affordable and comfortable. This location is a bit smaller than other locations I been too but it seems akin to their Union Square location. The staff is usually friendly and very helpful. They always greet you when you enter and when you leave. There is only a checkout line on the main floor but the fitting room is upstairs. The men section is on the main floor and the ladies section is on the top floor. Sign up for their loyalty card and expect discounts in the mail almost every month. read more

Very nice, organized, and tiny. American Eagle jeans are amazingggg. I love their stretchy jeans. They are so form fitting and make my legs look slim and long :D Their bras are pretty durable and last for a while. A bit pricy, but it's worth every penny. I recommend purchasing the lightly lined bras for great support. Staff are extremely friendly and fast. Fitting rooms are tiny but have great dim lighting. Overall, I give this place a 3/5. If its clothes were slightly cheaper, and if the place was slightly bigger, this would've been an even amazing store! read more

I'm not generally a fan of AE anymore. I think I'm outgrowing their style and their clothes. Yay for developing a personal sense of style! But I was dying for a specific chambray shirt from here. So I made a pit stop since my purchase was going to be for sure tax free. YAY! The bad thing about its location though is that there are hella tourists and they take forever and buy hella stuff. When I was there I was first in line for awhile because people were taking forever and there were only 2 cashiers. A worker probably my impatient demeanor and my inability to stop tapping my foot in annoyance so he opened up a new register and helped me out. Brownie points for him! read more

Ok besides the fact that I am not a fan of the Madison Square Garden area anyway, the Union Square store is far better stocked and organized. American Eagle is one of my favorite places to shop. They have all around good clothes, undergarments, and shoes...that all seem to fit me like they're supposed to. It makes for one happy shopper. I also particularly enjoy that as a brand they make almost every type of pant in a size long, which helps with my legs (most other clothing brands tend to make me look like I've put my pants in the dryer one too many times...high waters much?) Hence my disappointment when I came to this particular branch of the store and their stock was disorganized, their selection minimal, and their staff absent. It might have just been the day, but it definitely did not put me in the mood to shop there! I left very soon after arriving and fled to Union Square...where I was able to find what I was looking for. Phew! read more

The staff here were REALLY helpful and REALLY nice. Perhaps they were overstaffed when I went in on a Tuesday afternoon, but I was impressed. I really don't like shopping at stores like AE because I'm generally uncomfortable in those type of stores (just a weird personal thing). But the people working at this AE store were so friendly and helpful that I enjoyed shopping here. Prices are standard AE prices: a bit on the pricier end for this "crowd" of clothing lines, but by far some of the nicer made clothes. H&M across the street offers significantly cheaper clothes at a cost of lesser quality items (definitely check the seams and buttons at H&M; all buttons and seams at AE are likely to be perfect thanks to quality control). AE is also much tidier, neat, and controlled that H&M, which makes their shopping experience so much better. I would have given this store a 5-star rating, but the music was ridiculously loud, especially right over the registers. This was really annoying. read more

This is one of my go to stores specifically for jeans/crop pants as they're made with very soft fabric, have petite sizes and the staff is always very knowledgeable in describing the cut and style best suited for a specific height and body type. I never thought I'd be a fan of American Eagle Outfitters. It's really the only store I can find clothing items I like. I'm in my late 20's now and probably shouldn't be shopping here anymore but you can find simple skirts and sweaters that adults can pull off. This is my main AEO stop mostly because it's located so close to my job. I hate the general area because it's always swarming with tourists. However I find this particular store isn't as overwhelmed with people as other stores in the area i.e. H&M and Express. Much more low key in my opinion. What stands out for me is the friendliness of their staff. There is always a young girl eager to help. I always find heading to the dressing rooms an awkward time but here I feel more at ease. The girl working in this area is always someone friendly. I like how they ask what your name is. Not that I'll ever buzz the button for help because that's scary to me but it's still a nice gesture. The dressing rooms are well designed and don't smell like butt or feet so that's a plus. The lighting is a little too low but that isn't a huge deal. I wish the clothes hanger racks (whatever they're called) had more space for more clothes. Sometimes I come in with a bundle of things and have to carefully balance what didn't fit on the rack on the tiny chair. I've always found this location to be pretty well organized. I haven't had to stand in line for too long yet. I'm intrigued about the Union Square location now that I've read they have more selection. But the W34th St. location will be my go-to spot for now. read more

Ok I don't typically shop at American eagle as I'm a woman in her 30's- that being said their x4 jeggings are pretty amazing so I decided to take a stroll through. I honestly felt as if I were being profiled - not sure if it were race or how young I look, but it felt uncomfortable and I almost had to say something (but I decided not to). I'd go back if I wanted more jeans, but guys- work on your customer service skills- my money is the same color as everyone else's- I should never have to feel uncomfortable. Decent selection (I guess) but overall a limited selection- go to the Times Square location. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I had to because the customer service was really great here! I didn't get to interact much with the guys working on the ground floor (which houses men's clothing), but the ladies working on the second floor (women's clothing) were incredibly friendly and helpful! They helped me pick out Aerie bras and called downstairs for the size I needed when they couldn't find it upstairs. There is a button in the dressing room if you can't find your size, so you don't have to run around and return. Some jeans I tried didn't fit, so I pressed the button and one awesome girl working on the floor found me them and others in the next size and brought them to my dressing room. The jeans/jeggings were really comfortable and also had decent-sized pockets instead of those terrible faux or small pockets (which is a huge plus). The jeans/jeggings are on the pricier side, but I would definitely return when they have some nice sales especially now that I know that the people working there are super nice, helpful, and personable! In general, the layout of the store is a bit confusing for someone who's never been there before. For example, the down staircase/escalators were hard to find. But I am a fan of the dressing rooms, which have a nice stool, big mirror, and that useful button. I look forward to returning! read more

I had the misfortune of visiting this AE location on 8/28/17 and it's safe to say I will not be going back. The manager on duty in the men's section, Dominick, was extremely unhelpful bordering on downright rude when I requested a return/exchange. He very happily wasted an hour of my time because he refused to properly assist me with a return, instead delegating the task to a young lady whom while helpful was a little stressed by the situation and ended up making more than one mistake. Avoid this location at all costs. The customer service is atrocious. read more

The employe's here are great well the ones on the women's floor I don't know about the Men's section. But I suggest that it's better to go here at night when there are less tourist running around everywhere. It's just makes things a lot easier because there will be less people in your way. read more

I hopped in here to do some summer shopping. I was greeted with warm smiles and welcoming arms. The workers here are REALLY nice and friendly. At the door, one of the workers told me which items were on sale. The people working in the fitting room were very attentive and nice. The store carries some nice pieces, but the prices weren't so favorable. I'm not a regular here, but I do enjoy the atmosphere(when I come here). If I had to rate customer service alone: 5/5. I give it a 4 star because this place is crowded most of the time. I like coming here early because it's less crowded. What's worse is when there's like some big clearance or something it's SOO crowded. I do like coming though because sometime they have stuff that the other ae's don't have. Like, last time the cardigans here were only 20 dollars while it was like 35 in the ae in soho. Also, there's always a line for the fitting room which is pretty annoying.
