Bakmi ayam baso (noodles with chicken and beef balls) of Aries Noodles.

THE place to go for fresh Indonesian noodles made by the friendly owner Aries. Especially in the weekend this clean place is packed with Indonesians. Get the 'wet' noodles with chicken and meatballs. Drink a tjendol with it and be happy. http://www.amsterdambitestodiefor.com/savoury/nonsense-noodles/

Well the food was actually quite good, they spoke English which helped me as someone who doesn't speak Dutch quite a lot. The menu was partially English too. Upon entering the restaurant, one of the staff approached me right away and explained the menu for me. As I was looking for something spicy he also suggested something that would suit me the best. I paid 8€ for the Spicy Chicken fried noodles and 2€ for a diet Sprite. Upon ordering it took about 5min for the food to be ready though the place was not busy at all. What irritated me a bit was the fact that I didn't hear any frying sound or pan but only a microwave twice. The overall taste was quite good, the noodles were great, even though not crispy in an any way not even slightly. The chicken was great but not a lot but as spicy as I wanted it to be. There was also some fresh veggies on it as well. To sum it up, taste was good they were very friendly, not sure how fresh the whole dish was besides the veggies but overall I can get better fried noodles with more chicken and veggies in every German city for half the price.

A €9 portion of noodles which would almost be enough for a smurf.

When we entered the snackbar it looked promising. It was full and there were many indonesians eating inside. We got a bit disappointed when the food arrived. We felt like stinking rich smurfs. We paid the jackpot of €9 for a small cup of noodles. it would be great if it was also filled up with gold but, no, it was just a lot of money for 2 bites of noodles. If you are interested to still eat there, prepare to carry plenty of cash because there is no cash machine available. For us, let's just leave it at a "one life experience".

I decided to try Momo since I was staying at the affiliated hotel. Momo has a thoughtfully curated…read moremenu of shareable small plates and sushi selections. My friend, her young son, and I ordered 3 small plates and one of the sushi options. The flavors were balanced and the quality of the ingredients shined on each dish. However, the portion sizes were much smaller than expected considering the price for each item. Even my friend's son said, "I'm still hungry," after we finished what we had ordered. Overall, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was classy. I feel it is a great option for drinks and appetizers.

Very disappointed. It's a club that serves mediocre food. If that's what you're looking for, then…read moreby all means you should go. We went based off the website boasting high end small dishes. We were anticipating thoughtfully prepared Asian fusion cuisine in an elegant setting. We ordered the tasting menu. None of the dishes were inspired. The menu started with an oyster in the half shell with a nice Asian version of a mignonette. The mignonette was excellent but the oyster itself was a little fishy. The sashimi that followed was good but identical to sashimi anyone can get in any decent sushi restaurant. The black cod followed. Like the sashimi, it was good but nothing special. The last main was seared wagyu. It was nicely cooked but the sauce was a completely uninspired sweet sauce that actually detracted from the taste of the meat. The tulip pot dessert was hands down the high point. It was the one part of the menu that felt in any way inspired. The service was friendly but very slow and very disjointed. The music was too loud to allow a meaningful conversation. The dining room is thoughtfully designed and actually quite cool. So, if you're looking for a club that serves mediocre uninspired Asian fusion cuisine, by all means go for it. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with thoughtful Asian fusion dishes, you might want to look elsewhere.
