We used Aries for all our wedding transportation and would highly recommend them! We worked with Ericka and she was so patient and helpful in organizing our complicated transportation needs over the course of several months - we ended up with a van to drive the wedding party around for photos, two large charter buses to transport 90 guests from our ceremony to the reception, and they also coordinated a black car for our ceremony exit. Everything was on time, the vehicles were clean and attractive, and the drivers were super professional. Aries is also very reasonably priced compared to other vendors in Chicago. 10/10! read more

Buses at ohare airport shuttle from parking lots to terminals are not using air conditioning even on a 100 degree temperatures only because drivers don't want to feel cold while employees are sweating on a crowded bus ride, this happens every summer,specifically bus #2025, there will be lawsuits from passengers that get sick of heat exhaustion, if a bus is out of air conditioning simply put it out of service, would not recommend riding with this company that has inexperienced drivers that have no clue about basic routes to go around and providing safe environment, very unsafe practices by this company. read more

These busses take employees to and from the airport. The busses they use are terrible. They use old school busses that don't have heating or air-conditioning. You also go flying in the air when they drive over any bump on the road. They have nice fancy busses parked but they are not being used, instead they use the ones that don't have heating. I hired Aries Shuttle for my wedding in early November, to take the wedding party from the hotel to our Venue, then return to the hotel to pick up guests and then be available for return visits for a few hours before the reception ended in case people wanted to head back early. The communication at first wasn't ideal, but my wedding planner got a hold of a different manager who was really helpful. The price was reasonable and better than a few others, so I felt like even with a few bad reviews I would take a chance. Initially everything was fine! the shuttle bus for about 30 people was spacious, clean, the driver was happy and proficient. The main issue why I took off 3 stars, is that around 10:30ish, my Aunt and Uncle came to me (the bride) and asked if I knew anything about the shuttle to take them back. My Maid of Honor (also an event planner) stepped in and found out there was a flat tire! My brother was the first to try to go back at 10pm, and was essentially left to sit on the shuttle in the venue parking lot and had to call himself an uber, and no one from Aries apologized to him or offered to pay for that ride. No one notified us of the issues and we gave them our event planner, maid of honor and best man numbers. The driver was just sitting in the parking lot, waiting for...? So finally we demanded another shuttle and got taken back, but it was something I did not want to deal with on my wedding day and guests had to pay for their own rides when we had promised them safe transportation back starting at a certain time. Luckily, after the wedding, when I wrote to Aries, they refunded us about 50% of the total cost. I appreciated that very much. But I am still shocked they handled it so poorly. Get another shuttle and notify someone what is going on! we shouldn't have had to find it out this way and then demand another shuttle. Yikes. read more

We ordered a charter bus for 29 people and our driver was 30 minutes late. When we called the driver, he complained about traffic and when we called dispatch, we seemed to have annoyed him by calling, and he didn't even apologize! It was the most unprofessional experience. We would have been better off with a fleet of Uber XLs. read more

We hired Aries to provide a 55 passenger shuttle bus for our wedding between the hotel on Michigan Avenue and our venue near the United Center on New Years Eve. Literally 3.5 miles, straight down Grand. Nonetheless, our driver managed to make several egregious mistakes in what should have been a quick 20 minute trip. He was unprepared for a nearby underpass, despite their prevalence in downtown Chicago, and actually made our guests wait while he went out and measured the height of the bus. He also missed the entrance to the venue, got the bus stuck down a dead end, and was reluctant to move after parking on a sheet of black ice, despite the fact we had several elderly guests. Not only did these errors delay the start of our wedding, but they also added undue stress to us and our guests. I was told by my guests that the driver didn't use a GPS, relied on passengers to give him directions, and was difficult to communicate with. Additionally, on the way back from the venue, our driver headed directly into the closures from the Chi-Town Rising event and then took an alternate route in the wrong direction, despite the fact that we had sent an email the week before informing Aries of the anticipated traffic changes. We had used Aries Charters in the past for an event and had very similar problems (drivers not knowing the correct route and relying on passengers for directions) - I had hoped that this would not be a problem again, but I am incredibly disappointed to find out that this seems to be a persistent issue. The primary things I expect from a charter driver are to know the route and destination, be familiar with his vehicle, and be informed in regards to traffic and closures. None of these expectations were met and our complaints have not been addressed or even acknowledged by Aries administrative staff. read more

I have used Aries countless times for charter and transport for special events and weddings and swear by their customer service. Bar none they are the most professional company I have dealt with for everything from an employee outing to Ravinia to bridal party transport. Their drivers are courteous and prompt and their equipment is immaculate. Not only that, on one occasion when we had a logistical problem, Aries did not see it as an opportunity to gauge us but actually went above and beyond in helping solve the issue by being flexible with our contract. Its customer service like that that makes me feel so strongly about recommending them. Rates vary but are by far the best quotes out there and they deliver on all counts. If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative for large group transportation, I would highly recommend Aries. I have never had less than a perfect experience with them! read more

Recently used Aries to charter our trip to a concert. Driver got lost on the way there. Left a cell phone on the bus after the trip and immediately called to collect it. Driver informed us the phone would be fine only to find out it was stolen by the cleaning crew. When asked about the phone in question Aries employee replied with "We do not hire the best people to work here." So they hire crooks. Would imagine with the low in the the economy it might be time to hire better employees. Aries was very unprofessional and would suggest finding another charter company for your events. read more

I hired these guys to provide wedding day transportation for a client. We had two different drivers. The first one was completely unprofessional, yelling at me on the phone, telling the guests that he "bleeping can't do this anymore" (referencing his job) and acting incredibly put out that he had to transport guests. We paid for him to transport guests until 6:30 pm. When he got back to the hotel at 6:00 he waited for five minutes, decided that no one else was coming and LEFT. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When I found out, I called him and told him to turn around and get back there, which he begrudgingly did. The wedding started late on account of them. On the flip side, Reuben was the driver for the return trip and he was amazing. Kind, courteous, wonderful. If we had him for both trips I would have given them five stars. If you hire them, be sure to request a senior driver. But don't saw I didn't warn you. read more

I was given Aries as a referral, so perhaps our experience is unique. Antoinette was great - responsive and worked with our specific circumstances for my son's wedding. And our bus driver was friendly and first arrived at the hotel in advance and let me know where he was waiting - all good. However, it was the day of the Air & Water Show, and we were leaving the hotel just as it was ending. Antoinette says she factored the extra time to our venue based upon that - and it's possible. But the driver stayed on local streets, despite Google Maps saying go on the highway-- he claims he couldn't - but every guest who arrived by Uber went by highway. The 20 minute trip that Antoinette planned for 30 due to the show became 1:45 !!!! It was the trip from hell. Additionally, the A/C was failing and the full bus was overheating - in tolerance and temperature. I received a bill for OVERTIME - you can imagine how I reacted to that - which Antoinette took off the bill. But nothing for the bus without A/C nor the lost hour of the party the guests and I missed. I'm not sure I would recommend them - but ask for Antoinette - and be sure to get in writing that if these types of things occur - bus A/C or Heat fails, or driver takes wrong turns/goes the long way, that this will be reflected/discounted in the final billing. read more

We rented a 29 passenger mini bus to shuttle guests between the hotel and the wedding location. I am really glad that I went with Aries. They had a good price and excellent customer service. Lisa in the office answered all my questions promptly and did everything she said on time. The booking process went very smoothly. As for the buses our first trip I was worried because of traffic in Chicago. The bus though was right on time. We made it to the wedding and had no issues. The driver was very nice and made our guests feel welcome in our great city. The return trips also went perfectly. We arranged to take half the people at 9:30pm and half at 10:30pm and it ran like clockwork. This driver also was very courteous and took great care of us. Do not hire this company. I cannot stress enough how annoyed and unhappy I am with the service we have received. After an unpleasant experience a few years ago, I decided to give them another chance - Bad.Idea. The driver got lost and did not have a GPS system so relied on our out-of-town guests to get him to the venue. Then he didn't know how tall his bus was and almost got stuck under an overpass (Fun!), then - he refused to move the bus after stopping on some black ice to unload our guests (some of whom were elderly and walking with canes). Also he didn't speak English. My wedding started 25 minutes late because of Aries Charter. I recognize that this is not the end of the world but had I know that the driver would not know where he was going (even though that is his one job) I would have built in more time for the bus ride. They're terrible. After ALL this nonsense, I wrote an email to Rita, my contact at Aries, letting her know how unhappy we were and I got no response. None. Aries is a terrible, terrible company that has incredibly bad drivers. Please, oh please, find another bus to get you from place to place. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I didn't actually use this company but I was hit by one of their busses today. Luckily I was smart enough to make the driver stay while I had the police come and file a report. Not only did she CAUSE the accident the first thing she said was "I keep telling them they need to fix the brakes" "the brakes don't work" first how terrifying that they have busses with faulty brakes knowingly out on the road. I would NEVER hire a company who's employees hit someone and straight out say the brakes on my large bus don't work. Not only that she had the nerve and complete uncaring attitude to even ask if everyone in the car was ok, she then tried to somehow crazily justify hitting us!! After that she REFUSED to give me her license or information. Had to call the police to come out and file a report so when I go to the doctor for the headaches and neck pain I now have I won't be liable. This company is luck no one in the bus was hurt but I would STRONGLY encourage anyone considering using them to reconsider how they clearly don't train their employees and do not follow any protocol for when they get in accidents this company should not even be allowed to have busses on the road. I ride a shuttle to work provided by this company. Today they were 20 minutes late for a pickup. I know things happen but when its 6 degrees out that is just not acceptable, especially at Ogilvie where the passengers don't have the luxury that Union riders do of hiding like indoor lap dogs. We were standing outside freezing to death. Thennnn to top it off the driver had the gall to actually ask for my pass. Listen bud even if i could break away my frozen limbs to pull out my wallet with out breaking off several necessary parts of my body, when you are 20 minutes late.. you get no demands. Half of our guests were from Ohio, and we didn't want any of them getting lost or having a bad experience while driving, so hiring transportation for them to get to the ceremony and back to the reception was a priority for us. We researched several companies, and Aries had the best prices and a nice fleet of vehicles, so we hired them. We wanted them to take a scenic route through the city so our guests could see a little bit of beautiful Chicago, and they had no problem accomodating our request. We hired Aries for transportation for our son's wedding and they were all we asked for and more. Every question I asked was answered promptly and professionally and the price was very reasonable. The driver actually made three runs for us. First the wedding party was taken about town for photos, then the shuttle returned to the hotel to pick up two more groups of relatives and guests to take them to the venue. Everything ran smoothly, despite a street fair that had closed streets in the area. The shuttle was clean, the driver was courteous, and the service excellent. I recently used Aries for guest transportation for my wedding in downtown Chicago on 9/26/10. They were very easy to work with and very reasonably priced. Aries used a shuttle bus to bring my guests from the ceremony to the reception and then the reception back to the hotel we had selected (all within about a mile of each other). I didn't ride the transport, so I can't speak to the friendliness of the driver, but I had no complaints from guests. Overall, it was a good experience working with the folks at Aries. read more

A reckless shuttle driver of theirs almost hit me in a cross walk in the Chicago loop! I was already several steps into the street, with plenty of time on the signal, when their driver flew around the corner without stopping. Not only did I have to stop and back up to avoid getting hit by the front of the vehicle, but also had to run back to avoid getting hit by the back of the full size bus as it took the entire street to swing around. Yes, I tried calling the company to report this...and listened to a recording for several minutes with no one answering before I finally hung up. If I were a potential client, I would have already moved on anyhow. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for years. As a downtown commuter for quite a while, I've learned that you have to watch out for these buses. I can't count the number of times I've seen these buses almost hit bikers and pedestrians and not obey the rules of the road. Be on alert when you see them on the road. read more

We had a wonderful experience working with Antoinette from Aries Charter. We used them for our wedding transportation and had multiple receptions and venues in the mix which could have been a logistical nightmare if it wasn't for their team. Antoinette worked with us and helped us streamline our transportation needs to keep everything as cost effective as possible. She made suggestions for vehicles that would be easy for our elderly guests to get in and out of and also for me the bride in my dress! Note: limos are not easy to get in and out of in a fitted gown, but their mini-buses are and that worked great for us! The drivers were on time and provided great service to us and our guests. They even went the extra mile and walked my grandparents to their door at the end of the evening to ensure they made it home okay and confirmed with us afterwards once they were safely inside. This company clearly does not give a crap about it's customers! They were late for both pickups, during the drop off they destroyed a 100 foot section of my front lawn, completely crushed my sprinkler system and knocked over two mail boxes! In all they cost my over $1,500 in repairs! The worst part however is that over the past 4 months I have left 15 messages, they have yet to return one of them! Leading up to our wedding we had the tough decision of arranging transportation for our wedding guests along with deciding on renting a bus for our rather large wedding party. However after viewing the limo bus options online and being helped quickly with setting up a contract, we knew we had made the right decision. We didnt have to worry about a thing. The wonderful limo bus arrived early to the hotel and even waited on our bridal party to finish with photos before departing to the Church. (BTW - the Limo Bus is gorgeous inside and very comfortable). Anyways, Our driver was very polite and let us not only enjoy the drinks but the different radio stations as well - which helped us relax before the "Big walk down the aisle." After the wedding there was a slight change in plans and we decided to get some outdoor photos before heading to the hotel for the ceremony, however there was nothing to worry about cause they accommodated us with ease and we still got to the reception on time before it started. We used Aries Transportation for a bus trip from a bar in Chicago to a Blackhawks game last weekend and I left my iphone on the bus. I called them the next day and the employees were extremely helpful and diligent in locating and returning my lost phone to me. I want to thank Lisa and Rita for answering and returning my phone calls in a timely manner and being exceptionally patient, professional, and polite. I would also like to thank the driver of the bus who put extra effort in searching between all the seats until finding and returning my phone. Iphones are very expensive and rarely returned when found. In my experience Aries charter transportation is a very highly rated professional trustworthy company. :) read more

My Company hires this company to Charter from Chicago Union Station to Randolph building every day for both before and after work hours. There is this lady who punches tickets each morning who is extremely rude and disrespectful to me. This morning in particular she was not on her post which isn't unusual and so I go on the bus and the bus driver punches my ticket. This morning she comes late to check to see if I had my ticket punched but she didn't check on anyone else. It was the rudest behavior I've seen. Further, she's not friendly when I inquire about the timing of the buses (ie. If I just missed one etc.) In fact, one time she tells me that I need to be more mobile and move as not to miss them, again extremely rude. Why are people like this customer facing when so many people need jobs and would do them with a smile. Her unprofessional ism and negativity causes me to only take this charter when ABSOLUTELY necessary and I may even look into the CTA because I don't need the harassment. Perhaps, some customer service training would work but doubtful for her. read more
