Full disclosure - this is more about the people than any shop, as I worked with some folks at Argonaut Diving through a different location. That said - the education was fantastic, the information was presented in multiple ways to make sure that everyone understood, there was no guilt in taking more time on specific things if needed, and once a true understanding was shown, they were happy to stop spending unnecessary time on it. This summer I was lucky enough to spend ten days with a group of Argonaut divers on a liveaboard in Belize, and while there I completed Advanced Adventure Diver certification with instructor Kaitlin. I'd been open water certified for over a decade, but I had never truly gotten into diving and previously only had a dozen or so dives under my belt. Kaitlin was extremely thorough; she made sure I understood not only what I should be doing but also the why. She provided important constructive feedback after dives to make sure I continued to build my skills and gained confidence. Pro tip - she also made sure I brought reef safe leave-in conditioner with me so that my long hair didn't turn to straw from all the salt water. By the end of the course and entire experience, I felt so much more comfortable underwater. As a bonus, with me on almost every dive were multiple Argonaut instructors: Fred, Erika, Nik, and Nidhi. Everyone was kind and helpful, made sure I adopted best practices while having fun. I cannot recommend Argonaut Diving enough. I don't believe I would have experienced the same high level education with any other instructor group. read more

After many years away from diving, I returned and took a dry suit certification course. I can't speak highly enough about Aragonaut (Fred) and my instructor Sage. The curriculum was thorough and between the pool session and two open water dives I gained the knowledge and confidence I was looking for if I had issues they were addressed to my satisfaction. Sage is an excellent and experienced instructor. She was very attentive to my personal needs, equipment configuration and ensured that I mastered the necessary skills. What a great experience! We live in Seattle and chose Argonaut due to reputation. Professional, hilarious, and really fun. Our main concern was feeling at home, while learning such a dangerous sport. If there was something we wanted to work on, Fred would have taken a day out of his schedule to work with you on the subject. The staff is super cool and the women to men ratio was pretty equal! I loved getting to be out in the sound with an equal ratio of guys and girl instructors. Attention to detail! Jodi gave us this awesome coconut salve for our long hair so it didn't get brittle through pool and sea sessions. Very thoughtful staff. I am currently taking a class from Argonaut and am very impressed with the instructors and the owner. I have taken several Naui and Padi classes and have found out thru monitor Argonaut classes that I was not taught a lot of important skill from the beginning class thru my rescue class. I am so happy I chose Argonaut Diving for my 16 year old daughter's Open Water course in June 2019. I received my Open and Advanced Open Water certifications from a different outfit 3 years ago. My daughter and I have now done over a dozen dives together and I can say the training my daughter received with Argonaut Diving was more extensive and thorough than I received, better preparing her for open water dives and being a great dive buddy who really knows how to identify potential safety issues and fix them before dives and during dives.
