My husband and I took classes here. We felt lucky to find a local shop that could help us find the appropriate gear. We purchased thousands of dollars worth of gear as soon as we completed the class. As we became more experienced, we found that we were over charged for supposedly new but extremely outdated gear. We've had odd experiences with some of it - like our computers showing we're going deeper when we're surfacing, tanks popping out of BCs, you name it. These aren't just things - these are life sustaining tools needed to keep you safe. Harry is more interested in making a buck than ensuring safety and a lifelong customer. With local dive shops on the eastside dropping like flies, i was astonished to find such a great dive shop tucked away in the middle of Lynnwood. Much better than my 'old store' that closed in Woodinville. I had a great experience here, knowledgeable friendly staff, big inventory, very reasonable prices - this is now my go-to store for everything SCUBA. Support your local brick/mortar store! Ya you might find better deals online, but when your local shop goes belly up, where ya gonna get service/air/hydro and all those last minute things? read more

Let me start by saying I was pleased with LDC assisting friends and myself with filling our avalanche tanks. Long but worth the read. After trying to negotiate buying new gear and trading some in, how this has all changed. I called the shop to ask about their trade in service and get a ballpark number on my equipment since they are 30 min away. I was told they don't give prices as they need to look over the equipment and it can take 2 weeks. I decided I wasn't that interested and if I have time may stop in, but keeping my equipment for 2 weeks just to give me a price is ridiculous now matter how you look at it. Two days later I receive a call from Harry (Owner I assume) letting me know he received a note about my call and wanted further information. I explained what I was trying to do and gave him a list of the exact equipment I was looking to trade in and condition. He said they don't give prices over the phone because people can think more about their items condition than others so on and so on. Kinda like what a car dealership does, but it's not a car it's a BCD, wetsuit, etc. So after talking with Harry I told him I would bring down my stuff and we can go from there. Thanked him for the call back and said I would see him later. After getting off work I loaded all the equipment up and drove to the shop. Now's where things start to get shady and just unethical in their business practice. I enter into the shop and ask to speak with Harry. I was advised he was busy in the back, but Campbell one of the floor workers can assist me. I started to explain why I was there when he stated "oh I heard you were going to be bringing down some equipment to trade in". I started to take out what I had talked about with Harry and the first thing he starts in with is "yeah we really don't like that brand wetsuit so we wouldn't want those" remember I already told them what I had. So I stated ok no problem here are the two Hollis Elite Systems 2 ($650 a piece new even now before tax and shipping) I mentioned. Once again I am told how they aren't that good and not their favorite to have, ok so why have me bring them in? So I asked well how much are you thinking seeing the condition being just as I stated? Campbell then says "well let's look at some other BCD's and we can go from there. Now I know this tactic as its used in the auto industry all to common. I went along with it and during this time Campbell brought me to the $915 top of the line Scuba Pro unit. To speed up this review we spent 30-45 minutes looking over BCD's and never getting an idea what I was going to get for trade in. I had made up my mind for two BCD's one for my wife and was in between the top of the line Scuba Pro $915 and the model a step down $595. FINALLY Campbell goes to do the math on what they can give me for my trade in equipment (Remember they don't want the wetsuits at all and the BCD's cost $1300 retail even today) and let me preface I completely understand the difference between retail, 2nd hand market, and wholesale. Campbell then comes back and lets me know they can offer me 10% off the BCD's I'm looking at, so $91.50 off and $35.00 off the second (which was used)and by their math paid about $35.00. I had to ask to confirm I wasn't making a mistake, but they were offering me $126.50 for both my BCD's and Campbell instead he had to stick to the number as they don't like Hollis or most of their products for many reasons. So after wasting time to drive to the location & time in the shop looking around. They have no problem offering you less than 10% of your items retail cost, but looking over their existing used equipment sell it 15-20% less than retail. Great business practice for trying to take advantage of or just waste peoples time. Bottom line its a shady way to do business and great way to lose a customer and future customers. Will they care probably not, will they reply to my review with some standard "We are sorry and always take feedback for the future" probably. As a scuba shop maybe they are good, but for used equipment sell it yourself. read more

Hard for the beginners to ask the questions about diving gears. We walked in and were looking for a mask and wetsuit. I think his name is Zack..(?) who was at the shop. He was sooo knowledgeable and super helpful. I didn't feel awkward to ask questions at all. He recommended which mask and suits were better for money. Well.. selling a drysuit is a lil difficult but I appreciate that they want to leak test it first.. which means their not selling shitty used products to customers. Disappointed I couldn't get a good deal/ drysuit is in perfect shape but yeah i get it -no way of knowing without testing. Had terrible service from Lighthouse! They took my regulator in for an overhaul and re-used the high pressure seat (parts were no longer available but instead of telling me the reused the damaged ones). That caused my regulator to fail and freeflow at 100+ feet off Lobster Wall! The intermediate pressure was set completely wrong in an attempt to make the reg work with the damaged part. Worst part is it took over 6 weeks to get it back once they took it. I was repeatedly told it would be delivered but then Harry would cancel the transport. Harry's explanation was lame. His service was inexcusable. Luckily for me I dive with a redundant regulator and pony bottle. read more

We weren't disappointed, excellent service and selection of products and helpful advice from Zach. When we are on the area this shop will be our "go to". This location has the worst communication. Their motto is you pay now you get the certification and training whenever we feel like taking the time to contact you which is never. Only schedule your certification training here if you want to never really get it and only pay them in advance for something if you feel like throwing your money away. read more

I can't say enough about how great my experience was here. I took a dive computer that I purchased off Amazon in for testing. They completed the test quickly, finding that the computer did not operate as expected, and gave me copies of the report to aid my refund effort. They talked with me about other computers and after researching them on my own, I chose to purchase a new computer through them. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great advice on equipment. A couple of our friends recommended Lighthouse for snorkeling supplies. We're going on a Hawaii trip later this year and my 7 year old daughter needed gear. He was very patient and helpful with recommending items within our budget and placing an order for boots. Harry had some great tips about snorkeling for kids and had us set with mask, snorkel, fins and boots. More than likely, I'll be exploring taking scuba up through the Lighthouse one day. I had a great experience with Lighthouse in Lynnwood. I went in needing a new wet suit, and was offered help from Gary. He was knowledgeable, and extremely helpful, and helped me pick out a perfect suit for my needs right away. As I was checking out, I had a conversation with Gary and the owner about the evolution of wet suits. They were both knowledgeable, and clearly passionate. It isn't the closes dive shop to where I live, but I will definitely be back! read more

Terrible! After calling and speaking with a customer service representative, I sent my gear up there from out of state to get a quote on the servicing costs. After calling twice and waiting three weeks, I finally got a hold of them. Long story short, they lied about our phone conversations, kept my equipment, and said I could use the value of it towards new equipment from their showroom. I sent up multiple regulators and a computer and have never seen any of it again. I do not recommend this place read more

I've used Lighthouse a few times, and every time I tell myself I'm not going back, they offered a ridiculously low price for my nearly new used dive gear, and took weeks to work on my doubles regulators. The owner Harry was rude on multiple occasions, and seems to think he can just insult customers. I'm not going to make this mistake of wandering in there again! read more

I purchased a used drysuit here when they were having their annual sale. Had lots of options to try on different gear, and ended up finding a suit that fit great. After getting it in the water, it turned out to have a leak. The leak was pretty difficult to find, but the fine folks at Lighthouse went through all the troubleshooting steps, replaced seals, and finally replaced the shoulder valve. All of this was at no charge to myself, and they provided a loaner drysuit every time I wanted to dive! Nice people, lots of stock, solid business! read more
