Full disclosure - this is more about the people than any shop, as I worked with some folks at…read moreArgonaut Diving through a different location. That said - the education was fantastic, the information was presented in multiple ways to make sure that everyone understood, there was no guilt in taking more time on specific things if needed, and once a true understanding was shown, they were happy to stop spending unnecessary time on it. It's clear that there is a STRONG inclination toward safety, and they do something abnormal by ensuring that it doesn't get in the way of also creating a welcoming atmosphere.

This summer I was lucky enough to spend ten days with a group of Argonaut divers on a liveaboard in…read moreBelize, and while there I completed Advanced Adventure Diver certification with instructor Kaitlin. I'd been open water certified for over a decade, but I had never truly gotten into diving and previously only had a dozen or so dives under my belt. Kaitlin was extremely thorough; she made sure I understood not only what I should be doing but also the why. She provided important constructive feedback after dives to make sure I continued to build my skills and gained confidence. Pro tip - she also made sure I brought reef safe leave-in conditioner with me so that my long hair didn't turn to straw from all the salt water. By the end of the course and entire experience, I felt so much more comfortable underwater. As a bonus, with me on almost every dive were multiple Argonaut instructors: Fred, Erika, Nik, and Nidhi. Everyone was kind and helpful, made sure I adopted best practices while having fun. I cannot recommend Argonaut Diving enough. I don't believe I would have experienced the same high level education with any other instructor group.

Annie is a wonderful teacher! When I needed a SCUBA skills review, she provided me with a private…read morelesson that was extremely helpful and also a lot of fun! Annie is patient, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the sport! She taught me things I never learned, and the one-on-one experience allowed her to personalize the training specifically to me. The most helpful skills she went over (that were never taught in my open ocean course under a different dive master) were perfecting neutral buoyancy and how to weight properly. I had been taught to wear way too much weight! She keeps things simple, intuitive and allows you to relax and just have fun. I know she has a passion for sharing the experience of breathing underwater with anyone and everyone, and this passion exudes from every pore. I also went on a dive trip that Annie coordinated, and it was so much fun! The trip was well planned, and stocked full of extra lessons between dives about diving, photography, travel, marine life... you name it! This was a four day trip and she really made the most of the time she had with us. I could tell Annie just loves to teach, and she has so much knowledge to share. I am not a professional photographer, but her tips even helped me take great underwater photos with my point and shoot camera. I think she knows just about anything and everything you would ever want to know concerning diving, traveling and more! She has been all over the world diving, and she is just inspirational to be around because she is all about achieving your dreams! Well thanks to Annie, I HAVE achieved my dreams and I am now working full time in a career that includes diving. I could not have made it as far as I have without her. Annie is one of my most valued mentors, and I encourage anyone considering learning to dive or furthering their dive experience to do it through Annie!! I would definitely love to go on more adventures with her!

A friend told us about this camp and we mulled it over with our son. He wanted to go so he could meet people and NOT be bored all summer. We signed him up for 1/2 week and HE LOVED IT! We were able to secure another week, a month or so later, he could not wait to go back! He had so many great experiences to share with us and is completely hooked on this camp! The entire staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made his experience one to remember! Since the summer camp, he also signed up for the Scuba Camp (same location) and finished with his Advanced Certification in Dry Suit Diving. He has made a lot of lifetime friends at this camp! Super job to Annie and her entire Camp Staff, you guys ROCK!!!!!! We'll be back!!!!

I would be very very careful about spending your money here…read more We spent over $3,000 between a full setup of cold water dive gear and brownie 12v compressor that Harry recommended for our system and needs. On our first dive the compressor failed to perform as expected, it didn't fit our style of 12v plug (which was the reason we had purchased this particular system from Harry in the first place.) From Alaska we called Harry to deal with the problem he never returned our calls. We initiated phone contact 4 more times over our summer. Each time saying that he would look into the problem and each time never hearing back. We took it on ourselves to do extensive troubleshooting, we rewired the plug/made adapters, (all to no avail) the system would not work when plugged into either of our vessels. When we brought the compressor back in the fall to come up with a solution, it was the end of the summer dive season and he told us that it was in not in returnable condition. We used the unit for two 30 minute dives, cleaned it after each use and stored it in a storage bin afterwards for safe keeping. Harrys solution to the problem was to offer $0 in credit for a $2000 dollar unit and suggested an even more expensive units without even doing as much to removing the freight charges. Throughout the process he avoided accepting any responsibility for selling us a product that was incompatible with our system. Like the other one star review says, the rest of the staff seems really nice.

If you're lucky enough to…read moreget one of the younger salesman, you should have a fairly pleasant experience. just left the shop today , and not too pleased with the customer service. I bought in 80 cubic foot tank online. it was a smoking deal at a hundred sixty bucks for a new tank. I am using this to charge my pre charged pneumatic air gun. When I walked into the shop with my nice shiny tank, there was no one and I mean no one on the sales floor. the door chime had gone off, but apparently everyone was too busy to notice. after about 5 minutes unattended in the shop by myself I began to wonder if anyone was at work today. when Harry finally walked out of his office and was able to help me the first thing he asked was what he could help me with. I responded by telling him I needed my new tank inspected and charged. the very next thing he said was did you just walk over and grab that off the floor? as he gestured towards his tanks. I responded by saying no I brought it with me. so then I got the 5th degree about where I got it, when I got, it how much I paid. excuse me! Did you really just accuse me of trying to steal a darn air tank! are you freaking kidding me. Maybe he should have been on the floor! That's his bad, not mine. Then to top it off, I was given the speech about how I should have bought my tank from him, it would be cheaper by $20. But if that was the case why do all his tanks have a sticker on them that say $199.99? So I'm not sure whether he thinks I'm just stupid or what. but by my math his tanks were $39.99 more then i paid. Needless to say I was extremely insulted and will be taking my business to one of the other four dive shops in my immediate area. And if I get grief when I try to pickup my tank, I'll be asking LPD to stop in. Keep your receipts people!
