I bought two snow blowers ..... brought one in for a tune up ending costing me $500 plus ..... i started it up this year and the cable snapped, called them wanted to charge me $100 for pick and delivery and $125 to look at it ...told him what part needed to be replaced.. said could not give me an estimate... I had a broken recoil starter on an older generator they do not sell. I left the parts with them with no promise of a repair or a time frame, just to have the service tech take a look at it. I got a call 4 hours later to come pick up the repaired part. I know that repairs like this are not the norm ( anywhere) but it should be known that it did happen at Argento & Sons today. I took my Honda HRX lawnmower to Argento & Sons for a tune-up. I asked them to change the oil, sharpen the blades and replace the belt. I received a call from the shop about 4 days later letting me know they were waiting on parts. I then asked what part. The women replied an air filter box. I said I didn't want that replaced. I said it's an old lawnmower and I planned on getting a new one next year. The women's response was "it's not going to be more than $150. I get a call about 4 days later saying my mower is ready. I ask how much, I was told $300.00. I said that's too much. I would have purchased a brand new one. They are on sale now. I decided to just go pick up the mower. When I went to pick up the lawn mower I spoke to the women in the front and another guy. The women may have been the owner and the guy I am not sure. I tried to explain I thought $300 was very unreasonable for a tune up, and I asked why they don't call before they change parts without customers consent. "They said they don't call. If I want a written estimate it would cost me $65.00. We then went back and fourth and the person working behind the counter asked me if I was a "Tough Guy" I said you treat all your customers like this? His reply " I have 30,000 customers" With that, I turned around and walked out. Only to be followed outside. Outside Argento & Sons on April 26, 2017, at around 2:00 pm, I was threatened with physical harm. I was called a faggot and then 5 more men came running out of the service shop. I kept my hands in my pocket the whole time. I will never use Argento & Sons ever again. I made a formal complaint with Honda about being threatened. Very unprofessional, dishonest thugs. That was my experience. Not to mention way overpriced. Also, their policy of just doing work and not asking the customer approval is unheard of. read more

I brought my lawn mower in after Home Depot held it for two weeks without fixing it. I brought it to Argento and Sons and they fixed it on the spot for half of what Home Depot was charging. I bought my mower here. Went ok, decent price. But bringing it in for service is a real drag. Harried secretaries who know nothing about mowers try to transcribe the problems, nobody gives a straight answer, the guys in the office are sulky and aggressive. They seem to absolutely hate customers. Worse, they always find a way to up-charge my repairs by $80-100 via some unrelated maintenance I didn't need and didn't request. Last time I warned them not to, and they still charged $100 to "adjust the governor" (there were no problems with the revs) while they replaced a cheap, easy part. Governor was fine, probably took 10 mins to adjust, and I'm never going back. Mechanics are super nice, but you won't likely get to talk to them. read more

I bought my generator from these guys and have rented tools here before...only positive experiences here. It's definitely a well run establishment. The owner helped me out. He was pretty friendly and knowledgeable as were the staff the other times I've been in there! Seems like they have everything you need in terms of service too - they were able to diagnose and fix my pressure washer pretty nicely which was huge for me. Will continue to recommend them to friends for lawn and garden needs. read more

Their service though seems to be a little fishy... bought a leaf blower from them needed service, they said they fixed it charged me and did nothing to it, dropped off a ride on mower, it needed a belt! they called me said it was ready 500+ dollars, changed the blades said the changed pulley yada yada.. the point is they never asked me permission to do the other work! They never gave me a price to see if I could afford it lol... I've run into service stations who do this stuff it's not good business,! Be careful just say up front call me before you do work and give me the cost! They have good stuff! read more

I gave them a star for poor business ethics and rude. Not only could they not fix my lawn mower problem, they were too shabby to test it and try a different repair. A real repair would have warned me of a potential fire safety problem and found a fix for it. When I tried to drop it off again they refused to look at it, even though it was under the Toro Warranty and theirs. They don't stand behind their own work. The owner told me to bring the thing back where I brought it from. Then he told me that he didn't want to waste his time repairing a $200.00 lawn mower. His time is only good enough to repair $30,000 dollar tractors. When I started to ask him why he didn't stand behind his work he got rude and use the " I'm behind by 5 months" excuse. LAIM EXCUSE. Bought a Toro lawnmower, it ran okay for 2 years. Then had trouble starting it. Tried to clean all the parts myself, to no avail. Brought it to Argento. As reported, they are very arrogant to retail customers. Left the lawnmower and picked it up in 4 days. The bill was high; they claimed they replaced parts of the carburetor and "overhauled" the motor. When I picked it up, it was running. Shut it off and drove home. When I tried to mow the lawn, it would not start!... same as before. Big mistake, I should have shut it off at the shop and tried to start it there.
