Suzanne is outstanding! I needed to get back in shape and lose weight but honestly did not know how to do it. Having athletic experience I knew I just couldn't walk into a gym and start lifting due to the risk I could injure myself. I hit Yelp and that's how I found Suzanne. I have had a very unhealthy relationship with food for years. With trying to loose weight and exercise, I have either been 100% all in or 100% all out. There has been no in-between and because of that it's hasn't been sustainable. It took me a couple months to decide to work with Suzanne, but it has been the best decision I have made for myself! I've known Suzanne for years, and have watched her blossom into an incredible wife, mother, and now personal trainer. So when I wanted to get back into regular movement and strength training, I knew she was someone I could count on to get me to my goals. In a short period of time, I've gained muscles back that I had lost during my postpartum period, and am more confident in my body (which was my only goal!) She's so knowledgeable about what workouts to do depending on your goals and abilities. I have a knee injury and so she programmed workouts that kicked my booty into shape (literally) without having to do traditional squats/lunges. She's also trained in how to specifically work with pregnant/postpartum women and knows what to do and not do depending on what you've got going on (e.g. pelvic floor issues.) If you're anything like me, you've been battling with your fitness regimen your whole adult life--having exhausted all options from SoulCycles, OrangeTheory, whatever the hottest yoga classes are, that uber cool Equinox with the refrigerated eucalyptus towels, CrossFit, etc. so many countless things! And like me, you've probably found yourself getting really into these activities for bit but then found yourself with monthly subscription costs that hadn't been used for months. Then onto the next thing. I'd grown up playing sports most my life so this "workout thing" was always a natural part of my routine or what I was doing for fun anyway. Then adulthood hit, and you realize life is not that carefree: now you have to tend to your career, raise kids, pay for your mortgage, move away from that Uber swanky gym or class. Every second of your day has to be meticulously planned and you're looking for the greatest return on every ounce of energy you put into your day. After finding myself working myself to the ground and gaining over 20 pounds during the pandemic, I knew it was time for a change. Not to mention, I was sitting most my day and constantly picking up two heavy toddlers so my back was a complete mess--so much so that it required physical therapy. I wasn't able to stand for long periods of times, running exacerbated the pain, and picking up anything let alone the kids was impossible. And then I found Suzanne...and my life has never been the same since. She is more than a personal trainer; I'd consider her a life coach in many ways. Suzanne has completely changed my perception of exercise! It's been about 4-6 months since I started seeing her 2-3x a week and I don't think I ever want to go a week without seeing her again. She prepares every single workout in advance and continues to tracks my progression in weights lifted so I'm gaining both stamina and strength. Not only does she puts so much thought into what parts of my body I work out, when, and how hard...she's also super flexible and has no problem adapting on the fly based on how much sleep I got the night before, whether I'm traveling for work, how much (or little) I've had to eat, and the time since my last workout. Not to mention she is certified in yoga, pre- + postpartum training, and nutrition planning so it's amazing how holistic her approach is. For Suzanne, it's not just about getting me skinny (which prior to her was my only goal in life); it's about a happier, healthier, and more balanced life. The results have been much more than meets the eye. Immediately in the first few months my clothes immediately fit better but over time I noticed my anxiety gradually going away, I became TIRED at the end of the day (my mind used to constantly race + keep me up), I started feeling overall happier and much more present around my family (and especially my kids), and I'm able to think through work problems with more clarity and focus. The best part is how much stronger I feel doing everyday things. Things I used to take for granted: picking up my kids when they fall, playing WITH them at the park (instead of idly watching them from the side), walking long distances with one sitting on my shoulders, longer walks/runs in general...so many countless things I didn't realized I missed. THAT is so much more valuable! Not to mention--Suzanne is a total sweetheart, supportive friend, and badass role model of a working mom herself!!
