I absolutely love this place. It is 20 minutes out of my way so I come once a week. The bagels are so fresh and flavorful- the farm fresh cream cheese is UNREAL! I always get a bagel with lox. stumptown cold brew on nitro, yes please! new favorite iced coffee in ct. will try pastries next time, they all looked delicious and the ambience was definitely top notch cafe quality! nitro added nice cascading head that did not quickly fade, creamy mouthfeel without using dairy, cold brew had nice low acid, subtle coffee roast bitterness. perfect temperature on a warm day without resorting to over iced and slowly diluted weak coffee. read more

This review is on the service and the prices at Arethusa a Mano. My spouse and I have stopped here for coffee a few times and were not impressed by the snobbish attitude of the staff, which we experienced on multiple occasions. The worst was the time I went in to purchase a coffee and the waitperson intentionally ignored me (even though I was there first) and tried to wait on the wealthy person who had walked in after me and wanted specially ground coffee. I had to speak up and say " Excuse me but I believe that I was here first, I'd like a coffee, please". I got waited on but was treated like I didn't belong. Just to be clear I was well dressed but apparently not wealthy-looking enough for them to bother being courteous to me. Also, a large regular coffee costs $4.25! Starbucks costs just $2.50 for a large coffee. Arethusa must think they have magic beans. read more

Great (sometimes gigantic) pastries. Good espresso drinks but be forewarned that because this is a dairy there are no milk alternatives and in fact you will be treated with scorn if you ask. There are also sandwiches and other food items available. Casual but pricey. read more

Went here for a quick bite yesterday and we were impressed. The new cafe is gorgeous! My boyfriend got the Cuban sandwich and loved all of the flavors that were packed in between the pretzel roll. I grabbed a Found water in the elderflower flavor and it was the most amazing thing ever. It all was a little expensive, $17 for a sandwich and a water, but worth the splurge. read more

It's cute inside but almost overdone; it's rustic-modern and very clean, sort of almost sterile looking and you can tell it was expensive. I had a cruller which wasn't soggy but tasted a bit like grease and deep fryer. It wasn't overly sweet which I did like but the only flavor real was grease. I also had a babka muffin which was good but there wasn't a lot of flavor to that either. It was just kind of...meh. The quiche was alright, the eggs was super light and fluffy but again, the flavor was very mild. It's just average with not a lot going on by way of taste but somehow very popular judging by the line and parking lot. I'd have preferred Dunkin donuts and would have spent less money for more. I would like to go back for a sandwich, and I know the Arethusa cheese is good. But the baked goods themselves look much better than they taste. read more

Yes - it's totally just a cafe but, I don't know you guys, it just gives off such a cool vibe. Plus - the food that we had during breakfast was top notch. This place is such a bright spot. Every time I make the drive to Bantam to Arethusa my spirits lift -- stellar atmosphere and remarkable dairy products -- sublime cheeses, milk, etc. Louise makes the best sandwiches, Amber's hot chocolate is a dream. Best coffee I've had in a long time and it's consistently good which isn't always the case. Terrific baked goods. Bagel with lox and cream cheese with the works is mouth watering. The food and coffee is good however they have a ridiculous policy that you cannot use a computer at their table. I went in and ordered a $20 dollar breakfast. Planned to enjoy my food and coffee inside while checking emails and was told by staff that they had a policy that you could not use the table as a "workstation". Granted there were other open tables and it was not busy. It wasn't like I was planning to camp out there all day. I'm still eating my food and drinking my coffee that I had paid for. How is that different than if I was sitting there with another person eating and drinking? Or sitting alone reading a book or checking emails on my phone? Silly practice. Business must be good to be turning away paying customers. I will not be returning and will enjoy breakfast and coffee elsewhere. read more

I do like this place, it just makes me sad that everyone is just so grumpy here. If a customer is not getting yelled at for inadvertently breaking a Covid rule, they're getting an attitude for not ordering properly or asking a "dumb" question. It breaks my heart when I witness this behavior, I hope some day they change their attitude and put "service" back in customer service. I hope the owner reads this and decides it's time for a change. We can all use a little happiness in this world right now, and imagine the impact you can have by welcoming and thanking your hundreds of customers every day. Well I've been waiting for months for this place to open. They did...the day I went out of town for a month!! Back now & was SO disappointed in their presentation.The staff is great! But my chicken salad,(which I make just as well) was presented to me in a PLASTIC take out container!! Really?? I was eating IN. Apart from the aesthetics (just wrong!) it is not environmentally friendly! The decor is SO FUN...the dishes not so fun! My friend's "panino" came without another thing on the plate...no lettuce, tomato or pickle nada!! For the prices they charge..I think they need to try harder!! Okay first... Nine bucks for a grilled cheese sandwich? Pretentious much? Second there was this woman that smelled horrible, so bad that I nearly barfed up my breakfast. The worst part is she works there. Ever hear of the Health code? Third, there is no way in hell that I would ever come in to conduct any kind of business. A Camera is understandable, it's good to have if you get robbed. But three in the dining room? Seriously? You're a bakery, not the CIA man. Dial down the psycho just a little bit. And I'm pretty sure your Chef needs help, like get a shrink dude. It'll all be okay. And also, moral would be a lot higher if you would hire a few people, ya seem a little understaffed. And by little I mean A LOT. Also I had this raspberry bomb thing. Thought it was going to be the bomb... I should have bought the grill cheese. At least I would know how little I was getting. Chocolate mousse with a tiny bit of cake, is not anything that deserves 'bomb' in the name. ESPECIALLY for four bucks. And I'm pretty sure lemon poppyseed muffins are supposed to have lemon in them. Oh and one last thing, I asked for a sweet tea, and from a southerner to a bunch of yankees that don't seem to know any better, black tea plus ice, and a little simple syrup, doesn't make sweet tea. Walking in, I didn't know what to expect... I am so glad I did! This little gem is a place where all pastries, sandwiches, and coffees are hand crafted and so appealing! After making my decision of coffee (delicious ) and a chocolate donut( I never knew donuts should taste this good), I was able to sit in and enjoy the beautiful decor. A few minutes into my stay, the manger came over to see if there was anything she could do.... what?? In this day and age personal service has gone out the door...she made me believe in humanity again. We had a lovely conversation, and I watched as she went to other patrons and thanked them for coming in as well. Another Arethusa RIP-OFF I guess if you make your money selling shoes to the rich at totally absurd prices then it's hard to understand how to give any value at all in their eateries. After a pathetic mediocre $12 little panini sandwich and a $3 cup of coffee I wish I went to my other favorite places where they cater to locals and not the NY JET SET! These guys seem to only cater to their own NY LIFESTYLE and haven't embraced the local community they live in. Tavolo should have been an everyday trattoria at reasonable prices. They would have been profitable the first year. The ice cream is good but too expensive for most locals ..... and now this place could have been a good value for local wallets. But It is another shame. I would drive an hour to Millerton for greeeeat coffee and huge sandwich with chips at Irvington Roaster cafe before I ever go back here. Irvingtons is always packed with locals and people driving an hour like us and that was their intent. An Arethusa sandwich is a transcendental experience, the bread with the proper ratio of butter merges together to make a beautiful golden brown coloring, the gooey cheese in between is a dairy lovers dream. Be forewarned your first bite into this dairy divineness and reality will cease to exist , the cheese will stretch from the the sandwich to your mouth in Herculean lengths. Though the prices are higher than your average sandwich cafe, it's worth it, you're getting top notch ingredients. I also suggest grabbing a cold brew coffee and cookies. If seating is limited get your food to go and have a picnic down the road at White Memorial. Can't wait to go back for donuts! read more

The inside is bright and clean looking. I stopped in with a few friends and we received TERRIBLE customer service. We were obviously not locals (not sure if that was the issue) but I think everyone should be treated kindly. I order a croissant muffin (which was delicious) and I split a croissant with a friend (also delicious and huge). The croissant muffin was nice and caramel-like on the bottom while the regular croissant was super buttery and flaky. I've been twice now to Arethusa a Mano and it's been a delight both times. The first it was very busy but all I needed was a Latte so I was in and out fairly fast. The service was great, the drink was delicious, just need to figure out a pick up location to avoid confusion with lines. The second time was today and the Manager was there. She was fantastic with my Mother and me. My mother had a Joyous Almond Bar with her Iced decaf Americano and could not rave more about her order. I had the Hazelnut Mocha Bar which was delicious as well as a Caramel Latte. My only quib is that the espresso drinks come only in one size. But they've been open four weeks. Either way it was a fantastic visit, I'll go again when I come back to CT. read more

Everything here is worth it. Firstly the staff is friendly and inviting, they keep the pace moving even when they are busy. I was able to sit at the counter and enjoy my mocha latte and treats. I ordered a chocolate croissant, and a selection of macaroons. The croissant is buttery and the layers are perfect, the kind you would expect from the high standards of the Arethusa family. The macaroons were better than ones I have had in the city. Everything here is hand made, with top quality ingredients. Not to mention their own dairy goes into the products, which is delicious as well. They have an interesting selection of beverages to buy out of the case which I thought was a nice added touch. When you go to an artisan bake shop, you expect quality and shouldn't mind paying for it. If you want cheap processed garbage, stick to Dunkin Donuts. read more

Everything was good, would like more of it...this spot is well needed stop on 202. It was a quiet time and the staff was attentive with no signs of boredom. Just enthusiasm for maple walnut ice cream which we proceeded to purchase at their store across the street.
