I was referred by a friend to go here and I'm happy I did. Was quickly able to call over the phone to get a quote, and same day deposit for my windshield. Many other places over charge for their labor, when it's the same thing... all windshields have to be approved for their safety. I was looking at around 500 at 3 other places. They do a cash discount as well! Got called a day later to take my car and I was out within less than 2 hours on a weekday. So far the windshield is fine, no wind or sealing problems. I contacted this guy. He accepts credit cards. I say ok, ill give him my number, pay for it since he has to order it . He says i have to come in, I inform I can't walk, ill drive over. He says NO you have to walk in!!! THAT IS A FEDERAL VIOLATION OF AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES ACT!!! We need to hit these businesses where it hurts. THEIR POCKET!!!! This guy was spouting off about not taking cards over the phone, he was sued.... now his mouth walks him into another suit. this time he refuses to help the man that cannot walk repair his car. How he chooses to discriminate based on the fact that this gentleman cannot walk that his business only serves people that can walk. Did we step back into the '60s when we had whites only drinking fountains? As a disabled person people like this man discourages me and makes me feel bad. they make me feel like I'm a second class citizen. I feel persecuted like nobody cares I didn't wake up saying I think I'm going to become disabled today . . actually I woke up being disabled. I am just a guy trying to live my life as best as I can. the ability to walk and use one side of my body was taken from me. Americans with Disabilities Act States: most easy and reasonable accommodation in my case that would have been him walking outside to retrieve my credit card and my identification. Wait. I get it maybe he's afraid of disabled people that he might catch my disability. I am just a man trying to live in this life I'm alone I don't have anybody to help me I lost half of my body I'm a quadriplegic. Just had my 2016 Honda Civic front windshield replaced for the second time here. Damn the Eisenhower! Anyway, this place is really great. Price was only $180 versus $450 quoted from the big name company. They do great work and are very nice and polite. Only took 1 hour and they were even able to get my iPass to reattach so I don't have to find new adhesive strips. Highly recommend them. read more

My go to place for auto glass. 2 years ago it was for a replacement windshield. $120 for my Scion xB done in an hour. My dealer had the balls to suggest $780. 2 weeks ago it was for 4 windows on my car a my local douche bag broke out. $450, done in 2.5 hours. Admittedly the waiting room is dingy but screw it. They are polite, quick, efficient, and the price is exactly as quoted. read more

This place is a great bargain. Plus, the offer great customer service! Wait is only about an hour, and the price was a third of safelite. I backed up into an object that went right through my back windshield. They replaced my windshield, even got the line heaters working again, and after they vacuumed my whole car out to get all the glass shards. This was way more than I was expecting! A+ I had a DIY windshield frame replacement project to finish. I saved my original glass piece, brought it to Area and they slapped it in in about an hour. Great fit, clean trim, good prep work. Came in for a windshield everything was going great they gave me a good price on a used windshield wait time was minimal they have a very nice waiting area for customers it was not until I left and cleaned the window from what i thought was a dirty smear on the windshield I noticed the windshield had long scratches on the exterior I understand it is a used windshield but they could have demonstrated and informed me of the scratches on the windshield before the installation they could have told me the following (this is a the used windshield we have available it has 2 scratches on the exterior its your choice if you would like us to install it or not on the vehicle) i would have declined the scratched windshield and asked if they had a different windshield when i returned and talk to them about the problem the receptionist got extremely rude and gave me a nasty attitude I requested them to take the windshield off and to please refund my money then the receptionist went irritate and he said he was not going to give me a refund to sue him if i wanted to another gentlemen came into the conversation who was very nice i think it was the owner he offered to exchange the windshield for another used windshield i explained to him that i no longer would like to do bushiness with Area auto glass due to the bad customer service the receptionist had provided i just wanted them to take the windshield off and refund me the purchase price I had paid they then called the police and tried to scare me and leave. Upon the arrival of the first police officer who was very nice and polite I explained my side of the story and after me they explained there side the police officer understood where I was coming from but unfortunately he said he could not make them give me a refund and informed me of ways to go about the situation after listening to the police officer the owner offered to lower the price and give me a partial refund i denied and told him that I wanted for him to remove the windshield and give me a full refund he denied i did not want to waste the police officer's time any longer and thanked the owner for Area auto glass Horrible customer service and that i would no longer return or recommend anyone to his business! also wanted to thank the Cicero police officer who took the call for his help with this problem I did not get the officer's name unfortunately. read more

Got my windshield replaced about a month ago. Windshield panel popped off today. I go in to get it replaced at the car dealership. Dealership says no take it to the place where you got your windshield replaced. Which is here. I get to this place and they tell me no because "I'm not sure that it didn't fall off last week or two weeks ago" that was his exact response. Common sense if it did that then we would be having this same conversation last week or two weeks ago. Fuck this place. I do not recommend it. read more
