These guys were really great! Someone threw a brick through my rear windshield, and I called around to a couple of places for replacement. The other places needed a week to come out to me or they didn't have the part and would need to order it. Frank's said Come In Tomorrow and we will do it. They ordered the glass and overnighted it to their shop on South Wentworth. I was so glad because it was snowing, and I had no rear windshield. When I got there, they patiently explained the process of replacement, and they finished it within 75 minutes. Very professional and quick! The price was VERY competitive too. read more

Went to start my car cuz it's winter ... and I like to stay inside. ANYWHOOOOO some shitass broke my drivers side window, glass was everywhere inside and just kept cutting myself while trying to clean it. Called this place on a recommendation from security member from the parking lot where it occurred. --- thanks Gabby! Called them up gave me an estimate & paid that exact amount. Friendly staff, instant quote over the phone, fair price and speedy 1-hour same day repair service. Our Toyota Prius c got broken into by knocking down its passenger rear door window last night. I searched online clueless how much it'll cost and got quotes of $250 or more -- knowing repairs under $500 won't be covered by my auto insurance plan. There has got to be a local shop that's cheaper. Luckily with the guidance of a kind Google user, I found Frank's Glass Repair. We got the glass window replaced by the next day for flat $125 ($75 for pair + $50 for labor). No frills. No nonsense. We arrived at Frank's Glass Repair shop with a garbage bag duct taped down the broken window. Shout out to my man, Rafael! Thanks to our glass repair specialist, Rafael, for vacuuming all the shattered glass and removing the remaining duct tape marks stuck on the car frame. Thank you for saving me from a big headache. I am extremely happy with the service I received. I was going back and forth with someone on yelp even on super bowl Sunday. I received a quote of $200 (with a 1yr warranty) that was so much better than going to Safelite which was over $400.00. I contacted a few places by far this was the best quote. Being that my car was not even month old I wanted the same type of window that was in it when purchased. I received the same type of windows not just a cheap basic window. The customer service was astonishing from first contact. Even with the first window that was ordered came back defective they quickly contacted me and ordered a new one and my car was done the following day less than an hour of opening. I never noticed the location and I am born and raised southsider!! This is my go to if I ever need a window repair and now i know they even have a auto repair shop as well. My insurance sent me here to get a broken back window fixed and I was definitely skeptical walking in. It's located about 3 blocks away from one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America, and I was one of the only people waiting that didn't have a facial tattoo. Between the clientele and the fact that the front desk area looked like an episode of Hoarders I had my doubts. Ultimately though they fixed me up in about an hour and were way more flexible about when I could bring it in then any of the other glass places in Chicago. I was very surprised in how quickly everything went. The people working the counter were very helpful. The workmanship was done as one would expect. They transferred over my city sticker. Today was my first time coming here after reading the reviews. I wasn't trying to pay too much for a cracked windshield, so once I called and they gave me the price of $150 I was sold. They had to order my part and I was told they would get it by that night or first thing in the morning, which is fast! Overall, everything was done professionally, and the windshield came out perfect. The only thing I do not like is the first come first serve, I believe they should take appointments instead. So they open at 8:30am so be prepared to get out the car and stand in line soon as you arrive. But other than that, I haven't had any other work done here besides the windshield, so I would recommend this place. read more

My boyfriend's car got vandalized in front of the place he was staying at and he needed to get his window fixed right away that was affordable. He was referred to Frank's by someone in the neighborhood. They fixed his windshield for $90 and they did a very good job on it looked relatively new like the windshield wasnt broken at all. You can use your insurance deductable, but it has to be up to a certain amount for it to kick in. The staff was really friendly and helpful. read more

Frank is the best. I needed a passenger window for my 2003 pt cruiser asap. He had it installed in 15 minutes. After which, i ran around town doing errands and out of the blue the window shattered. Drove back and Frank installed another one without any question, delay or charge. This review is based off of how I was treated on getting a quote over the phone ONLY. I called today at 10:15 a.m. and a man answered the phone. I told him I wanted to get a quote. He nastily and loudly said "FOR WHAT?!" I reluctantly told him for my front windshield. I expressed to him I have never been to this establishment so I expected him to ask the pertinent information. He asked for make, model, etc. which I gave him. He then kept talking but it wasn't to me, I guess it was to workers in the background. I was like "hello"? He said "I'm still looking". How would I know this? He finally came back to the phone and gave me an expensive quote for ordering glass and didn't express if it was new or used glass. I told him thank you and got off the phone. Even if the price was better than the place I am planning on using, I would never give my hard earned money to a place that gives such poor customer service. read more

Frank's Auto on 59th & Ashland and the one on 63rd & Wentworth, I would recommend that if you go to either one of these places that you make sure you get what you asked for. My husband took our vehicle to get a window motor replaced and the workers lied about replacing the motor, all they did was tried to repair it but the repair did not last 10 min. What happened to customer service? He then went to the main place on Wentworth and they were no help at all. Where the owner's of these companies? The workers are giving them a bad Reputation. read more
