We went when the whole store was 40% off and the clearance was an additional 50%. All of the salespeople were so incredibly kind. They helped us with the dressing rooms, signing up for their sales emails and giving us information about their clothing. When we went the store was empty except from us. I hope this doesn't reflect the success of the store because I cannot wait to go back to this store.

The designer Alexa Chung had just released a collection for Madewell on 9/15/2010, so I was able to paw her ankle-length silk skirts and gorgeous blazers, as well as the classic denim collections. The girls working in the shop greeted me pleasantly, didn't hover, asked casually if I needed help finding anything, and were helpful in locating items in different colors or sizes. The difference is they had multiple of the same items available in each size unlike other stores they are generally a one off. I subtracted a star because initially we couldn't find anyone to help us. It was a Friday afternoon a little after 3 & no sales associate to be found. We wondered both sides of the store and dressing room to find no one. Eventually as I was preparing to call the store on my cell phone the gentlemen who helped us appeared. The other thing was when I was explaining to him why the coat was being returned he asked if the coat had been burnt. Idk if he was joking or that was his dry sense of humor, however he redeemed himself as the conversation progressed. I work retail so I know people try to get over but this was clearly a case of defective merchandise.
