Best place to get ice in bulk. Best prices in the area from what I've seen. They have both blocks and bagged ice.

My sister was visiting from the SF Bay Area during the Holidays. I'm blessed that she and her…read morehubby always brings a few dim sum items that have no comparison from any So Cal Dim Sum place yet. We have to use many extra ice chests to keep all the goodies she brings. Somehow she found this local ice supplier here in Lake Elsinore and advised me their pricing was very reasonable, especially for dry ice. I stopped by this morning shorty after they opened and was warmly greeted by "Tim" the General Sales Manager in the lobby area when one enters. He is awesome and patiently answered all of my questions regarding the shelf life of dry ice in my cooler(s) and the formula (weight of dry ice) to use per day. While standing in this lobby area, Tim walked over from his desk to the bin containing the dry ice. He then scooped, weighed and bagged it. Tim explained to me that this location for the California Ice Company is the the production site that manufactures approximately 25,000 lbs of ice per day. This site has been here for four years. They have another location, "San Diego Ice Company" in San Diego. They are both commercial and public retail sales. I was impressed that with what the ice company can produce, from bagged ice, block ice, dry ice pellets or dry ice blocks, block ice for ice sculptures, and something I never heard of: clear ice cubes for whiskey with the ability to customize it. I only purchased 10lbs of dry ice pellets this visit. There is a minimum purchase of 5 lbs for dry ice with selling price of $1.50 per pound. The business is little hard to find. You enter a driveway at the end of 3rd Street where 3rd street curves into Pasadena Street. California Ice Company is the last office building on your left. You can also look for the orange windsock on the corner of their building's roof. This place is a great resource for all of your ice needs, especially if you need those big bags of ice that club stores sell but are not opened yet or have sold out their supply.

This is our go-to Cold Stone location since it's the closest one to us, and we've been coming here…read moreregularly for quite a while. Most of the time, we place our order online ahead of time, and honestly, I'd recommend doing the same. Nearly every visit, there seems to be only one employee working the front, and the store is usually pretty busy when we go. They do a great job prioritizing online orders, which works perfectly for us since we're usually juggling a baby and a toddler. Being able to walk in, grab our order, and head out makes life so much easier! One thing I absolutely recommend is signing up for their rewards program. It's free, and the points add up faster than you'd think. Before you know it, you'll have enough rewards for $5 off your order, which is always a nice bonus. My usual order is an Oreo shake in a Like It size. The consistency is usually spot on thick, creamy, and delicious. I've had a couple of occasions where it was a little too watery, but overall it's consistently good. My husband always gets a Love It French Vanilla ice cream with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and caramel, and after trying it myself, I completely understand why it's his favorite. It's now one of mine too! On our most recent visit, I discovered they offer a kids-size cup, which was a pleasant surprise. It's the perfect portion for my 3-year-old and a great option if you don't want to waste ice cream on little ones who can't finish a larger size. For the store itself, it's clean and family-friendly. They have a restroom available for customers, you just need to ask for the key. There is limited indoor seating, but enough space for a couple of families, plus outdoor seating that's especially nice during the cooler evening hours. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't open until 2 PM on most days, so plan accordingly if you're craving ice cream earlier in the day. Overall, this location has become a regular stop for our family. Great ice cream, convenient online ordering, and a rewards program that actually pays off make it an easy place to keep coming back to.

As a date lover, I had to try (and compare) it to that other famous place by Morongo and I will say that the Shield's date shake is thicker and more date-intense! They also had date ice cream which I will have to try the next time. I found the shop to be charming with lots of old school toys, jewelry, kitchen accessories and, of course, dates! There are many varieties sold here, including Mr. Shield's exclusive "blonde" and "brunette". There's date sugar, date crystals, syrup, jam, rubs, honey and pancake mix! I was tempted to go crazy! The theater is at the back of the shop and it is flat out old school charming. Alas, no air con. The history of this special place plays on a continuous loop and is about 15 minutes. Well worth it for the history and to appreciate how labor intensive date farming is! Fascinating. The items are all a bit pricey. There is a cash price and a credit card price on each item and everything is clearly marked. I don't mind supporting a family business and, anyway, they had me at, "date shake." Unfortunately, it was a hot June day, 110 degrees, so I didn't venture outside. If it's cooler next time, I'll definitely wander around... I will be back!
