This location came in clutch. I was about 7 miles left before running out of gas and between the street lights of Mira Mesa Blvd, Black Mountain Road and a Navy Federal Building, was the sign ARCO. It was about 20 cents cheaper than the locations by me and about 10 cents cheaper than the Mobil down the street which is all I needed to know. Always solid quality at all the locations and this was no different. About 3/4 of their pumps were taken which gave me a second to go inside and take a peak. If I could give negative stars, I would. I stopped in for gas this morning and prepaid $70, but the pump I was assigned wasn't working. I asked the cashier to move the remaining $34 to another pump, but that pump was never activated. When I went back to explain, the cashier insisted it had been switched, even though it clearly hadn't. The situation escalated when the owner, Wally, got involved. Instead of resolving the issue, he argued with me and raised his voice. He claimed the balance had been transferred, but the amount available on the new pump didn't match what I was owed. When I was scheduled First Day at 6pm, I mustered my resolve and left 2-hours prior to shift start. Gotta love that traffic heading to the border. Grueling 10 hours, culminating in a struggling recuperating 45 minute return to Mira Mesa. Well. There's an NFCU, Band of America, and a ATM inside, sometimes having cash instead relying of credit may benefit you more than refilling a gas tank that's low. The gas station by In n Out was out of service so I had no choice to get a few gallons here. I haven't been to Arco in ages as they only accept cash/debit. But luckily I had some cash that day. This location is always packed with drivers because it's in a heavy traffic spot. Gas is good and seems to last longer then when I fill out at other places. This post is more about the fast food. If you like the McRib, you will love the pork rib sandwich here. Typical fast food sandwich. They probably get the fake pork rib patty from the same exact manufacturer. It's not a nice meal and it's definitely not good for you. But for some reason I just really like the McRib. This sandwich tastes just as good but for way cheaper. We started calling it the McBroke. Horrible service from Mary that was rude unprofessional. My husband's truck tire started loosing air so we get off the freeway to find the closest location with working air. A guy initially helped with my purchase..so while he's at break I encounter a very unprofessional Mary, that started using profanity. Because, I asked her to turn the air back on. She was stand offish and very unprofessional. So, I tell her a guy was just helping me. She was like so show me a receipt. When he come back from break he tells her. I went in tonight to purchase some ethanol and the employee "put my money on pump 13". I went out to pump gas and nothing happened. I went inside to have him retry putting my money on pump 13 and he wouldn't do that and told me I had to switch pumps. The girl working right now (Sunday 9/15 @ 1:55 PM) was so incredibly rude and unpleasant that even if she was having one of the worst days of her life it wouldn't excuse her behavior toward paying customers. I decided to write this review after my wife went in the store right after me and came back out very upset because of how rude the same girl was to her (I didn't mention my interaction with the woman working before my wife went into the store). At times it could get busy, but I'm usually in the area at night so crowds aren't always an issue. Additionally, you can pick up JIB tacos, pho or banh mi at Lucky, or cheese balls at Valerio's. I forgot to get my cash and when I went back to the gas station they did not know anything about the extra cash from the pump I used. they told me to come back and talk to a manager and when I did she was not in. I decided to cut my losses and lost the $4.50 I specifically went there, instead of the gas station down the road because it was 10cents a gallon more. Also, I went to Arco and paid with cash to avoid the 45 cent fee. The second I was at the counter the cashier did not say one word to any customer in line and proceeded to be rude by refusing to answer customers questions or respond to anything at all really. I ran my card through their card reader it got an error message. Multiple cards, multiple times and cashier was extremely unhelpful in trying to get the machine to work or attempt a workaround even though I had used my card 10 minutes prior. They had a product labeled at $5.99 .... Upon the purchase it rang up at $9.99. The clerk stated its because of tax. I pointed out that tax was not 59.9% it's 8.75% The female owner ran over and swapped the price tags and asked if I wanted to purchase the product at the new price. Gas station is good most of the time. Some of the lowest prices on my commute and the layout is large enough to easily get in and out of. However, one time I was unfortunate enough to find a malfunction and had to ask for help several times to get the gas to start pumping.
