COSCTO GAS, MISSION VALLEY! This costco gas is always super helpful, extremely easy to locate and go through. The people there are always nice if you need any help, the gas is cheap ranging from Regular $4.26. I'd highly recommend going through the week days and never on the weekends. Sundays are the worst for gas days where there's an intersection to get on the right furthest lane for gas, and there's two lanes to enter, making it super slow, and wasted time sitting in traffic. Other than that, the price is good, parking is easy if you go around Costco, and it's always clean, and easy to navigate through lines.

In my opinion, I think Mission Valley's Costco line for gas is organized to make it easier to get in and out of the gas fueling pumps/stations. There's ONE destination line just for refueling! Costo's lines for gas in Rancho Del Rey are AWFUL!! At Rancho Del Rey, cars are trying to "pass" the Costco lines the same time cars are trying to turn into the gas lines can be so hectic !!

Best gasoline prices in San Diego... I believe that in every city, Costco has the lowest gasoline prices. My initial plan was to fill up at the Carlsbad location - on my way to LA in the afternoon. During dinner with fellow Yelp Elites, Ryan and Emmett, they advised me to go before closing time, but after the main Costco store closes. Smart thinking! The line will be shorter at night! Why wait in a long line in the afternoon heat? These guys are akamai!!! We were having dinner near this particular location, so I drove over (after cruising Fashion Valley Mall). There are many pumps... I would guess that there are about twenty? The lines moved quickly! I was done in a minute! Thanks, Emmett and Ryan for the sound advice! I'll remember that for future visits!

There are busy times, for sure. But overall, lines move quickly. Costco is pretty efficient. And you can't beat the price.

I normally would not go to this Mobil due to the price but tonight there was a detour and I desperately needed gas I wanted to buy $1 worth of gas so I could make it to my regular gas station where the last time I purchased gas the price was $3..95 per gallon nearly $2 less per gallon then the Mobil station. I was informed by the male cashier that I could not purchase $1 worth of gas that I needed to purchase $2 worth of gas . No greeting, just a blank, angry stare like WTF do you want? Oh I'm sorry, am I supposed to start the conversation? Honestly how difficult is it to say hello? To have the most basic level of social graces? If you hate people, maybe get a job where you don't interact with them. Looking through the reviews, it sounds like this lady has been called out multiple times. The store itself is very nice and clean inside. There is a huge selection of liquor and beverages and the location is super convenient and right by my office, but I can't give my business to places that treat their customers like dirt.

On 03/25/2026 around 9:36 PM, I made a small purchase (~$8) and paid with a $50 bill. The cashier listed on my receipt, Imelda, questioned my payment and repeatedly asked if I had smaller bills or could use a card. That already felt unnecessary, since cash is accepted and breaking a $50 for a small purchase is standard at most gas stations. What stood out more was the change I received. I was given $41.92 mostly in $1 bills, even though larger denominations were clearly available. As someone who has worked at a gas station before, I understand how registers and safes operate, this didn't feel like a limitation, but more of a decision that prioritized convenience over customer service. This isn't about the money, it's about the experience. Situations like this slow things down, make customers feel unwelcome, and reflect a lack of basic service standards. For other customers: just be aware you might get an unnecessarily difficult transaction if you're paying with larger bills. For management: this appears to be a training issue. Employees should be equipped to handle common transactions efficiently and fairly without pushing inconvenience onto customers. Hoping this gets addressed, because it's an easy fix and would make a big difference.

They won't take my Chevron card or a major credit card, so I have to walk in and ask for a specific dollar amount worth of fuel. I just want to fill my tank and be on my way. Chevron, fix your systems.
